This always makes my Sundays better. How does, Grim adjust.. I have had 10 dogs 6 cats and all bar 1 dog and 1 cat have huge issues when in UK clocks go forward and back by a hour and during summer light mornings. I try to keep their routine on time but that hour change sends them all loopy for a good few weeks 🤦♀️ I would definitely be a Polar Night person even a tiny charging light annoys me as love the dark but Midnight Sun beautiful in it's own way.

It's a KZbin channel. She shows the side of herself and her life that she wants you to see. Enjoy it and allow yourself to be inspired by it all you want, but remember that all social media might as well be fiction in how much control the creators have over their content (not fiction as in content being made up, but in the overall impression --you don't see the dark or bored days, fights and arguments, or downturns that are part of everyone's lives, for example).

There are two months between first sunrise and the polar day. Given the fact that the last two weeks, the night is so short and bright, it may even feel like 1,5 months between first sunrise and the day all the time. It's crazy how fast it goes up there.
@michadybczak4862 Жыл бұрын
@@ceezee9179 He has a point. Such channels are selling a dream. Of course, they have issues, health problems and are not happy all the time, but some people do have a positive attitude most of the time and Cecilia says she does have it. I believe her, but I'm still aware that is not the whole picture, but it doesn't matter. Some private things should stay private.
@katelijnesommen Жыл бұрын
@@safe-keeper1042 I mean this is very true, and I feel like Cecilia is quite open about less positive experiences; she talked extensively about her mental health issues during the polar night before this one. She was very anxious and didn't feel good at all. So I feel she doesn't actually hide those parts of life. Although I'm sure we don't see all of it and that's healthy, she should have boundaries! In general I absolutely believe that she's very authentically herself in her videos and that she's currently in a good place mentally. That we don't see every detail doesn't invalidate that.
@FunSizeSpamberguesa Жыл бұрын
My mom worked at a cannery halfway out the Aleutian Islands as a young woman, and she said polar day was way harder than polar night --that somehow, trying to sleep in full daylight was worse than trying to wake up in total darkness. Even with the curtains fully shut, knowing that it was still broad daylight outside had a weird psychological effect that made falling asleep surprisingly difficult. Watching your videos, I can see why.
@shadelings Жыл бұрын
I've only experienced polar day when on a family vacation in Alaska during the summer and it is such a weird feeling because when the sun is still high up in the sky at night time, you don't feel tired at all and you literally have to force yourself to go to bed.
@Rodzilla5332 Жыл бұрын
As someone who has worked the graveyard shift for several years I can attest to that.

Yeah, the bright summer nights can make sleeping hard even in southern Scandinavia. Especially when you're not used to it.
@Truelyblue333 Жыл бұрын
I will never understand how my mom worked the night shift hours for 35 years! I worked it for 5 and just couldn’t get a handle on sleeping during the daylight hours. My body was showing the effects of not being able to properly rest. Going to work in the dark and leaving with the sun coming up made it very difficult to function properly. It’s like I would instantly “rise and shine”. 😂 Wouldn’t be able to sleep during the day but around 8 pm get so tired only to have to be to work again in a few hours. Horrible working hours… 🥴
@ak-homegrownroots8185 Жыл бұрын
My goodness, I work 6 seasons in the canneries too. Thank for sharing!!! Grew up on the Kenai Peninsula. Annnddd I have done it all…slime line, freeze crew, the docks, a eggbert! Lol We work all hours day & night. Longest shift I work was 36 hours, slept 4, came back and worked another 24 hour shift, but usually a least 12 shift was expected. When the fish are in …we work. Ohh boy to be young again!! Lol But honestly this was the start of my sleeping issues. Plus living in AK the land midnight sun. lol So I applied Black out rolled sheeting in master room only. This made a huge difference for me. Hug to all🙏❤️

As an old (don't ask) American man, I grew up with the knowledge that English was used only as a universal language among scientists. To try to sleep better at night, it is an idea to make everything in the house as dark as possible so that you simulate a pleasant "evening". For the next 9 days we have just 1 day with sun, 2 days without rain, the rest will be gloomy and wet. That's the norm since 2-3 months now. Today was a sunny day, 20 degrees. The last sunny day was on the beginning of March, so two months ago! At this point, I don't care about temperature, I want sun, even with -15, so the whole day or even few days with almost no wind and sun all the time, sounds wonderful.

I was thrilled to enjoy many lunches and breakfasts at Fruene in March - your video reminds me of how great their multigrain bread is. I had some awesome soups there with it (sweet potato with bacon and, on another day, creamy carrot soup with homemade croutons). Every day, their pastry case was full of gorgeous treats, constantly getting replenished, as people got them with their coffees and teas. They had a "Meringue Cake" that was delicious! That cafe was jumpin' all the time and the women behind the counter were super nice. I sat over in the little yarn cubby most times and came to love its coziness. I'm not saying I'd fly all the way to Svalbard from the US mid-Atlantic JUST to enjoy Fruene's Chili con Carne, white chocolate polar bears, hearty bread, and oaty-crunchy custard-topped squares but I'm not NOT sayin' it either. Bon appetit in your sweet village, Cecilia!
