A day in my life working at a Chinese environmental organization 🇺🇸🇨🇳 美国人在中国环保组织工作的一天是什么样？

A little glimpse into my life as an employee at a Chinese NGO! Every day is different, but I hope this gives you an idea of what one part of my work is like (engaging the public / kids about environmental concepts or science education). Green Zhejiang's work is a mix of running hands-on education programs for kids of all ages, holding community events to promote environmental concepts/policies, pollution monitoring and reporting, and more.
I work remotely from my home office based out of a Chinese mountain village about 4-5 days a week, and spend the rest of the time on work trips. Today I'm showing you a Small Sample of the latter (let's be real, there's not much to see with the former, LOL).

I probably wouldn't say "alien" since it sounds too serious. With today's technology, the earth is indeed a village and she blends well into the community she is living in. I think she is happy and enjoy what she is doing and I am inspired by her videos as well as I have found back my long lost ability (from school years!) to learn about advancements in science and technology that are not in my area. We should have less propagandas and more contents like this.

How does a nation, country, group of people, political party go from a backward society to where China is in 2023 in less than a half-century? And the beauty of it all is there is hardly any nationalistic drive about the whole development. The pragmatism in the overall approach is a lesson so many other nations could learn from. No wonder China is all over the world today. It eagerly learnt from others and now is helping others in a similar endeavor. Beats having 1,000 military bases, doesn't it?

When i was studying Architecture at the CUNY-City College of Technology, i did take a selective class, microbiology. one time we did a lab. my professor asked everyone to scape unwashed hand's palm and washed hand's palm separately, and took both of the scrapes to be cultivated. Second day under microscope, we surprised found there were more microbos on the washed hand than the unwashed hand, later my professor told us the why, the dry hands paper towel was dirty. since then, go anywhere either i do not dry my hands or i just use the air dry machine.

I didn’t expect that ending, the ending I was expecting was that everyone with washed hands had used the air dryer, since there are always studies coming out about air dryers collecting and propagating bathroom bacteria , LOL. Well looks like there is no good solution to this 😂😂😂

You are speaking in Mandarin and transcribing to English and also Chinese. That is impressive. What software are you using for that?

it's not a software, I translate these subtitles by hand . there are softwares that will do this but I don't think that the quality of the translation is good enough at this point in time, I prefer to do it myself, maybe it will improve in a few years as AI advances
