A DAY IN NORTH SHORE VISITING THE SACRED WAIMEA VALLEY (with great coffee and violent peacocks)

We spent the day in North Shore visiting the Waimea Valley and it's luscious botanical gardens with an amazing waterfall. The day started with a long visit to the Green World Coffee Farm to learn about some of the best coffee on Oahu. Then, we explored Waimea Valley which is home to some amazing gardens, peaceful walking trails and the largest waterfall we have seen so far on the island. It was definitely worth the $8 entrance even though Nikki had to almost fight a peacock. Finally, no day in North Shore would be complete without visiting the beaches to enjoy some great surfing! We did that at the world famous Banzai Pipeline! Enjoy this video!

First time I went to Waimea falls was in the early 50s as a kid. It was an interesting hike when wet. There was just a little trail. It was free then.

I can still remember the peacock call while walking to the falls. We once got to the fall right as one peacock was putting on a show with his feathers to a gathered crowd. Isn't there a gift shop or cafeteria there, too? I have a vague memory of having brunch there, and my parent's still have a half dozen peacock feathers they bought somewhere near waimea falls.

Wow! I went there 2times and it was amazing! Since that was in North shore, you should check the Macadamia nut company too! There is a little cottage where sells acai bowl and smoothie 🥤! Buy the way, I enjoy your videos 🤗

You can always visit a different, free botanical garden in Kaneohe. It’s called Ho’omaluhia. Waimea valley is definitely nice, but I don’t think you’ll regret it if you skip it :)
