When I was in tech school my cadre told us that a lot of bases you gotta get to the armory like 2 hours early because there’s so many people. Cut to me my first day, days, thinking I gotta get in 2 hours early when guardmount is 445 and show time is 400 walking my dumbass around an empty squadron at 2 until someone goes “yeah your flight isn’t gonna come in for a while” then I was late af the next day

Funni Asian Man It’s got its ups and downs like any career field. If you go overseas there’s opportunities that you get at lower ranks that people back stateside don’t get until around SrA or staff. Cops are definitely a different breed from how we talk, carry ourselves, interact within and outside of our job. I try to have as much fun as I can even when stuffs boring but a boring night is a good night

Funni Asian Man definitely try to stay fit, be optimistic about every opportunity even if something sounds shitty, jump at those opportunities and try to get your name out there, there’s a saying that cops eat their own but don’t be like that because at the end of the day you want as many people in your corner as possible and no one will support someone who steps on their own to move up, and just be aware of yours and the people around you’s mental health you got a weapon everyday your working so if there’s something going on tell someone. Too many defenders don’t. Learn how to talk to people and take criticism because you’ll be called for everything and get the most blame and all your actions will be under a microscope so best to know how to defuse situations because you don’t always need to be an asshole and that doesn’t help your case if you are one. Have fun and do the best job you can like if you’re at a gate everyday well fuck be the best damn gate guard your squadron has ever seen, build rapport will the populous, shit like that because if someone’s coming through the gate pissed at world and see a friendly face and hear a good morning, maybe joke a bit, you changed their whole day. Bottom line have fun and don’t be an asshole unless you gotta turn it on, learn as much as you can, study and be ready for everything because no 2 situations are ever the same

Standing on aircraft for 12 hrs with flack vest, helmet m4 and 120 rounds around my waist without seeing anybody for hrs on end was a mental battle for me. My leader ship was okay overseas however stateside msgt McCloud made everyone feel worthless animals. My days off often consisted of training or briefings after working all night long. I don’t regret enlisting but thank God it was only 4 yrs of my life. I didn’t have it easy at all for it being Air Force. to make life worse, I got out and worked for dept of corrections for 16 yrs and then broke my neck trying to get property out of a cell by an angry inmate. I still thank Jesus for all blessings and move forward.

I was on one of the first EST's..Emergency Service Team's (SWAT) in the Air Force. I got to attend the FBI SWAT School and we got to put on EST training demonstrations along with the Combat Control Team across the street from Security Control. (We loaded on 2 C 130's with a Combat Control Team climbed to 20,000 ft., the CCT did a halo jump. After deploying the CCT the 130's spiraled down and did an Assault landing on a dirt strip. We deployed in our Armored vehicles out the back of the C130's and took the objective, reloaded with the nuclear weapon we recovered from the Terrorists and did a Assault takeoff)!! I was stationed for 1 year in Turkey at a secret MUNSS site. I was the NCOIC of Arms and Equipment for the Security detachment and also the Team Leader for the RRT ( Recapture and Recovery Team) a joint Turkish American Anti-terrorist Team. When I rotated back to the World, I was assigned for 2 years at Langley AFB, VA to Headquarters Tactical Air Command. I have a question. I am interested in joining the air force reserve and want to do security forces. my question is when you did your secret security clearance process, did you do it at meps, and if so did you have to sign medical records release form?

I’m from Croatia and I’m planning to join our army here when I finish high school, so I’ve heard many people told me not to join, and some of them are in the army, do you have and suggestions or something?

Do you get a top secret clearance? Do you guys work with reserve SF because they show up once month what are they normally doing?
@ACoupleofCarpenters5 жыл бұрын
No you don’t get a top secret

It’d be nice if someone could answer this as for this is the make or break question haha. If I were to go into the Air Force, I would go for Security Forces Officer. Do they also fill in normal positions as enlisted? I’m more of a hands on type person but my parents will not allow me to go enlisted.
