Just a tip but good way to get signal if your working with no cell signal and just need internet is Starlink , Works by satelite . Not sure on price but ive heard a lot are using it for off grid stuff .

Thanks Bob! I purchased Starlink earlier this summer and have been testing it out. Right now it is not very mobile friendly as only certain cells are open for coverage and to move service into. Hoping in the future it will be more open, and it will then be a great resource.

Hi Cass, my family loves your channel - great work and thanks for taking us along on your adventures! When out west in "the wild" we never go anywhere without bear spray after an incident that happened when our son was five years old. We pulled over in the middle of nowhere and my husband took him over to a tree to do his business maybe 15 yards from the car. He did not think to take the bear spray since it was just a quick pit stop so my son could water a tree - lol. Not 2 min later I hear my husband yelling. I go over to find my son on my husband's shoulders and a coyote in stalk mode. Once the coyote saw me approach he took one more look at my husband and son and then backed off and left. Happened so quickly. Now 12 years later we still tease our son about becoming a coyote appetizer 😆 and we always have bearspray on hand. Most likely the coyote was habituated and begging by the roadside (which is unfortunate) but we realized it could just as easily have been a bear or mountIn lion too. Safe travels to you, Jasper and Napoleon!

I feel your pain Cas. I'm a Sr. Program Mgr. for Kaiser Permanente IT Enterprise Infrastructure. I have 2 major project going on, where some days I have back-to-back meetings from 7am-5pm non stop. Right now I'm WFW which helps. But you're still updating notes, scheduling meetings, moderating discussions and working on reports. Like you I feel pretty pooped by then end of the day. I try and make a lunch ahead of time, have 2-liters of water, snacks and bio breaks. Fortunately I have a sit\stand desk, 2-large monitors, my laptop, and a comfortable office chair. Tomorrow is a holiday, but no rest for the weary keeping these project on schedule. At least I have time with minimal interruptions, so I can concentrate on my work. At least your view is better than mine, and the kids keep you entertained. Jasper's looks like a pretty silly dog, when he can be himself. I lover critters, and respect them all. Be safe, and thanks again for sharing your life.

From my knothole in Corporate America, a lot of workers who have been 100% remote due to Covid will be called back into the office over the next several months due to the widespread availability of vaccines and revised CDC guidelines. Many workplaces are going to try a hybrid schedule with a few days in the office and a few days from home, but I have a gut feeling that won’t last long either. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of petty “leadership” in these organizations that hate virtual work and want to see “butts in chairs” again, so it probably won’t be long until that hybrid schedule goes away as well. I think in about a year we’re going to see Craigslist and FB Marketplace flooded with “Covid toys” - motor homes, RV’s, toy haulers, Sprinter vans, slide ins, boats, overland trailers, ATVs, motorcycles, etc etc - bought with Trump/Biden bucks and tax returns during the pandemic that are no longer being used. Along with all the toys being dumped at rock bottom prices, I’m guessing the woods and boon docking sites will begin to quiet down and go back to normal next summer as well. However, guys like me who’ve tasted the 100% virtual work life are going to do what we can to keep this lifestyle, so I think companies willing to offer it are going to have a competitive advantage for top talent going forward vs. those who require in office work. As someone who’s been living the Digital Nomad life yourself for some time, I’d be curious to hear your take on these things, pros/cons of virtual work, and where you think things are going for the future of this kind of lifestyle. Might make for a good future video topic?
@TailsofWanderlust
@TailsofWanderlust 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, that would be an interesting future topic. I'm definitely seeing that people are already being called back into the office or a hybrid position. I'm also hoping that the dispersed camping sites calm down, as not everyone is taking care of them, and the land is being misused. I'll keep this in mind for a future video, thank you!

Definitely something to consider when in the bear area. Although I've learned for us there is less risk in a bear area when I'm making a lot of noise, than a highly populated camping area with other off-leash dogs. Thankfully, Jasper always stays within site as well.

My only concern with letting a dog off leash are bears and cougars. Here in California there’s also rattle snakes which most dogs consider toys until they’re bitten. I really like it when dogs can run free but I’m a bit concerned as well. I love Colorado. I plan to spend some time there in late summer on the way to the east coast. I may even try a bit of boondocking. There’s a boom in RV purchasing. As the number of units increase there will be even more trashing of wilderness camp sites. Unfortunate but true!
@TailsofWanderlust
@TailsofWanderlust 3 жыл бұрын
Very unfortunate! But hopefully if we keep spreading the message to take care of the public lands, we can help a little bit. Agree with you on the bears and such. When we go further away from camp Jasper is typically on leash. But he's allowed to run around camp. I usually have music going so hope that keeps animals away. Napoleon & Jasper also aren't allowed to run free once the sun starts going down.

@ Buck Cannon: Agree...but she also has to have the ability & will to USE it. Otherwise, it's best NOT to have/carry a firearm. Here in Colorado, we have 2 (dangerous!) animals that you can "meet" at any time out in the sticks (and in some residential neighborhoods, too!) -- Bears and mountain lions. But I'm ALWAYS carrying so that tool is there if ever needed (mainly for personal protection from human predators though, not so much animals). As for turkeys -- which ALSO can be aggressive here -- I'm not TOO worried about them...especially when Thanksgiving is approaching. ;-) BTW, I wouldn't even take a "SHORT" walk without my bear-spray: You can't predict what will NOT happen...and being wrong may be terminal (or worse). ;-) -- BR

Hi Cass, really enjoy your videos. We are working thru all of them as time permits. We are considering both the 16x and the 20x. We were wondering what your view would be on the 20x given your use of the 16x in high mountains. Do you feel you are close to the 4runner’s capability in steeper roads? Hi Ginger! Glad to hear the videos are helpful! Sorry with eye surgery I haven't been checking comments. I would not tow anything heavier than the 16 with the 4Runner.
