I feel like being a LMT people don't take you seriously or they think massage school is easy. It's actually quite difficult and the MBLEX is a really hard test to pass. Massage school was one of the best things I've ever done and becoming a LMT is one of my greatest accomplishments. Love my job.

@RR Hi there! I remember more than I think, repetition is key & much easier once your interacting with the body consistently!! For me, the same goes for modalities, my school ensued we are extremely prepared with the muscles & modalities in massage!! My best advice is repetition 😊 I hope this helps! x Hannah

i currently work at a spa as a receptionist. i plan on moving up so I am thinking about becoming a massage therapist. is schooling super expensive?

That’s exciting! Price with vary of course on state / type of school / length of program, ect. The average cost in Ohio is $12,000 - I was able to find this as well! “While there are no super-reliable statistics on massage therapy school tuition, one popular, but unofficial source states that tuition can range “between $6,000 and $10,000,” while Massage Magazine notes that some programs can “cost upward of $15,000.” I hope this helps! I’m considering Becoming a message therapist will any school give me the same certification or do I need a specific one ?

Hi ! CNMT is considered continuing education, you may need to find a specific school to ask if they offer it as part of the program, but you can always get it after if they don’t! My school is removing it as an included part of the program, but will offer it as continuing education afterwards! I hope this helps! Best, Hannah
