Yup, keep them clean makes you feel good and reflects back on the company. I used to love going to drive mixer, I'd work as many hours as I could, wish I still could I miss it.

I was a Concrete Ready Mix Operator for 16years it is the best job ever. When you first start it sucks because you do a shitty job and the labors have to work way harder. But when you become great at it every one will love you! Fun job!

@@amaliamoreno5474 if your able to fight an army of criminals, single handed, and be prepared to be fired for protecting your life, and love to be treated like garbage, and your clairvoyant, a mind reader, able to withstand the lowest form of life verbally, and physically attacking you on a daily basis, and dont forget, concentrate is highly toxic! It gives you ling cancer, it enters you skin, lungs, goes into your body and raises havoc on your nervous system, neurological pathways, enters you liver and spleen, destroying its ability to function properly, and it attacks you heart! Lyme syndrome is real, and the "pond scum" cement contractors are all dying, or are suffering from neurological disorders. Oh but let them tell you they are not!

There are pros and cons with every job. I’ve been a Ready Mix Operator for only a few months but from what I can tell, the pros outweigh the cons. I love driving and operating my truck.

Hope ya hang in there. I’m retired 37 years in a truck of some kind. Mixer was by far the most demanding. Especially front discharge. I did the last 17 in the front discharge mixer. Went places you wouldn’t think 80k would go.3ft of sand to Mud up to the fenders. If you like 4x4 that’s your job.lol.

I just retired after 40 years driving a concert mixer for the same company and I enjoyed it mostly until the Lazar screed was invented in the late 90,s and the night work started like at midnight we would do anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 cubic yards a night then start day work after that , that part I got burned out pretty fast. Overall it was really a good job.

Yeah It wasn't for me. We had a Redi-mix co. a construction division , a sand & stone pit, & a concrete pipe & structure division, which I worked for mostly, The pipe division was considered the top division . I would work other divisions when it was slow or raining & loads were cancelled. Mostly running dumps hauling aggregate into the plant. But if they asked if I wanted to go on a mixer I's say ,"I'd rather go home" LOL

It was the same on the pipe trucks,, but depending where you were on the list you could bounce onto the dump truck for the day, They hauled aggregate in no mater what. I didn't mind being laid off & collecting for the winter,, I always found work out of the union hall on freight for the couple months.
