Alex, I feel your pain. I was in business 25 years. No show, no call, first day, no shows, all of it. Just finding good help is almost impossible. When I closed I went to work as a store manager, same crap. Did that for about 6 or 7 years and just got tired of it, being the boss is no fun, and the boss's boss comes around, you are the blame for everything. I finally ended up in the retail sales and merchandising, loved it, stress level was down, my yearly evaluations were always exceeds expectations, it was great. That was what I did until I finally retired. I had to tone it down. Busy as you are I can't believe you took the time to make this video. When you own your own business it becomes your life. The only advice I can give you is, you must take some time for life. A work, life balance is necessary. All work and no play is not going to cut it. You have a good wife, just like me, and if it weren't for her, I don't think I could have made it. They are always there to help, they don't call out. I will shut up now. I didn't mean to write a book. Thanks for the video.

I loved your comment! I am taking your advice and working on my work life balance as I type this. It can be stressful but just you said, without my wife I don’t know if I could do it. She keeps me going. Thanks for sharing your story. I enjoyed reading it 👨🏽🔧

hello Alex and Shon, hope all is well, wanted to tell you about a tool I made it is great for diagnosing abs sensors on gm cars, I just made 2 wires with connectors so I can plug the left side harness to the right side sensor same with the other side then if the code stays on the same side it is the hub, if it goes to the other side, it is a wire harness, it saves a lot of time

Seen ABS codes a few times on that generation impala. Issue was broken WSS wires where the harness bends around about 8 inches from the sensor every time. Wire breaks inside the conduit with out the conduit breaking. Its a tough find if its your first one or two. Causing the good ol' intermittent issue.

Hey Alex don’t know if you fixed that impala or not but I believe dorman makes a abs pigtail for that car . They go bad where the bend is . Very common bad spot that causes the abs traction lights and when turning from a stop will cause the car to jerk and the abs to activate. I would replace the abs pigtail . And fix all the wires that are not mounted correctly . Love watching your videos

Wassup up Alex. Is pennzoil a good oil for my 2011 Acadia? I recently switched from Mobil 1. Before Mobil 1 it was AcDelco. Delco was getting too expensive and killing my pockets. I needed that extra few bucks. Especially now that’s I’m changing my own oil and filter. I also stick with Ac Delco filter all the time.

@Pinhead_larry2658 ай бұрын
It's hard to find people who actually want to work instead of living off of the government. Now I do not know what you pay but that has a huge factor. One of the reasons why I left the automotive industry for an office job is due to constantly being on your feet in the freezing heat and cold and getting treated like garbage by Management ( Not to mention working on people's filthy cars). I worked in a large chain auto shop that treated me like a number more than a person. Me being an ASE mechanic leaving the automotive industry was the best decision I ever made. My injured back from being on my feet all the time and slipped spinal disks in my back can finally heal.
@AlexTheCarDoctor8 ай бұрын
I know the pay is a problem in our industry. So right now I’m testing different methods. They have a choice of $30 flat rate starting out or hourly pay plus and commission incentive for productivity so they can still get paid if it’s slow. Whichever they choose…
