The most popular question I get asked is: "What Car Should I Buy?" If a customer is able to get a car to me before they purchase, I make sure to tell them everything thats going on with the car. In this video, my fears about this Buick Encore came to pass....

i’m a tech in detroit , just recently i’ve done two of those buicks , common issue cracked cylinder walls leaking coolant on pistons

Thanks for all the free game. It's really great to have something car related to share with the kids that's not chock-full-of Haterade™. Negativity is eating these kids alive, man. All I know is that if I had a supercomputer in my pocket at their age, I'd have been DOOMED for suuuure. Just having AIM & Myspace on my Sidekick alone was too much power for a black dude with green eyes! 😂

love your channel, it's a kick, I have a Cruze, 1.4 turbo, key is change oil 3 to 4 k synthetic only, replace that plastic thermostat thing with an aftermarket aluminum one, bought the same price

I don't know about Encores, but i got my 13 Cruze LTZ RS(same 1.4t engine) in November with right at 200k. It has almost 217k now and has been a fantastic car. And i have no history on it. I did the valve cover and intake when i got it as preventative. And i put a set of plugs in it. And other than that just oil changes every 3k miles. I did just replace the compressor and expansion valve and condenser because someone overcharged the system when they replaced the compressor before, and the condenser looked like someone pushed straight down on it with all their might for some reason. And we replaced my wifes 02 Sonata with a one owner dealer serviced 12 Cruze Eco. And its been phenomenal.

Alex Haven't gotten the '58 Plymouth running. FYI I think I remember telling you we picked up a 2013 Equinox with the 2.4l. Drove it back from Vagas to MN. Was getting 25-30 MPG! Plenty of power at 170,000 miles. Was concerned about oil consumption. Didn't use any on the way home! Has a coolant leak by the water pump. Haven't checked if the water pump mounting bolts are tight.

Turbo oil lines on it too! I service some cars for a very small used car dealership. They have a 1.4 Ecotec Spark and a 1.5 Ecotec Malibu next to it. I am working on both of them.

fyi induction services are horrible for catalytic converters but if you have a gasoline direct injection engine i would still recommend it just to help with carbon buildup

Oh wow, watching and listening to Alex show the customers cars with codes here and more codes there . $1,500 catalytic converters, new engines etc. Basically it makes me glad that my newest vehicle is a 2000 Chevrolet pickup, then a 96 Buick Roadmaster, then a 93 Chevrolet suburban ( 95,000 miles, bought new ) . No car payments, no codes just regular oil changes and transmission fluid changes etc. Basically no new vehicles for me. Thanks

That 1.4 already underpowered ecotech loves blow turbo and leak coolant and water pump prematurely goes out along with evap issues. Plus stay away for any CVT in general especially on a Nissan they completely intolerant of lack of maintenance. Complete junk with that lifetime fluid no way. Last until the warranty is out.
