Mr. Bridges. After hearing your story over a year ago, I got inspired, buckled down, and joined a gym. I learned and struggled but I'm down almost a hundred pounds and I am stronger then I have ever been before. You were my inspiration. Thanks for being a badass role model. Pay the man

Cold water immersion affects neurochemistry. Cold water is a stressor that decreases core body temperature which induces a cold shock response in the sympathetic nervous system. Norepinephrine and noradrenaline production increases in response to the stressor, and those contribute to increased focus, attention and alertness. Additionally, beta endorphins are produced to cope with the pain of the stressor. When the stressor is later removed (by stepping out of the ice bath), this beta endorphin production inhibits the neurotransmitter GABA which allows for higher than usual levels of dopamine to be allowed in the reward pathway of the brain. These increased dopamine levels cause positive and pleasurable feelings. Therefore, cold water immersion makes you feel better than you would otherwise.

First of all; thank you for starting a channel. This, first, Video has a top notch quality. In every aspect. Filming, insight in your daily routine as well as the Training. All your pics of the cold water inspired me a few weeks ago to start ending every shower with the water running as cold as possible, as long as I can stand it. I hate it. But I do it every single time. So,.. thank you. Primary reason was to boost my immune system. But, a few days ago, I realised, how much it means mentally. I know, that you are aware of what you‘re doing. But are you always benching without a spotter or in a Rack? All the best from Germany.
