You have two really impressive horses (and of course Bella too). Apollo has gravitas ... he is powerful and majestic and very kind. He seemed to like getting his shave. Farouk is streamlined and athletic and loyal. They both are great examples of horses who were gentle souls to start and with your training, have become exceptional. Bella will no doubt develop the same way.

Hello Tara, This is the first time I've seen you riding your 'Friesen Gentleman'. He really is the best behaved ride and a wonderful example of why Friesens are becoming so popular. There's a breeder about 20 minutes away from here in south-west British Columbia, Canada. They have a farm on a flat piece of Delta land that looks just like parts of Holland and I love driving by and seeing them in the field. Years ago I saw them pulling farm equipment in Belgium and Holland but they seem to have made the transition to becoming solid, well behaved riding horses world wide.

Hi Tara and Rens, I wish a lot of human men would trim their stubble more regularly! I am not fond of male facial hair and I really don't understand this 5 o'clock shadow look all day. Both my sons, who have very dark hair sport "the stubble look" so it must be in fashion.! Apollo and Farouk are so good standing at the mounting block for you - no shuffling or fidgeting. Well trained and safe for riders to get on. Have a great day.

I call them beards, and as we have 2 mares, they really bug me, so I usually shave the longer stands off the same as you... I hate them... especially in the winter when they’re really thick and long, but the girls live out all year, so need it, as their faces are permanently exposed to all the elements. It’s a massive milestone to clip Ruby’s chin/jaw, we had to start with the clippers turned on, but far away from her, then turned off rubbing on her neck, then turned on rubbing on her neck, before weeks later being able to use on her face... have only been able to run it down the side of her ear once for all the tufts that sprout out of them..... that is still work in progress😂Had saddler out yesterday, and need to invest in a new saddle for Ruby, and at some point, a new one for Bunny as Becky has out grown it(was 12 when we bought it... now nearly 17) I asked about one like yours, he said he has fitted one, but due to Ruby’s conformation around her withers, it would not be suitable... so recommended a 1/2 leather/1/2 synthetic one.... it looks lovely... such a deep seat. I was ever so conscious having to ride in front of the saddler as I have had no lessons, and I think it shows🙈But he was lovely and told me that he was only there to ensure Ruby’s comfort and not criticise my lack of riding skills☺️Dreadful weather here today... and for the next few days😰 Hope it better up North. Coucou Tara et Rents Rents tu as un réel talent de coiffeur! Pour dame par contre... il n y a que très peu d hommes qui peuvent se targuer d avoir d aussi beaux "cheveux" qu Apollo! Tara cela m a fait très plaisir de te voir! Je voudrais te parler d un cheval en France qui q appelle Peyo. Il doit avoir aux alentours de 15 ans et c est un étalon. Et bien ce cheval visite les malades dans les hôpitaux ! C est le seul cheval en France à avoir les autorisations. Si tu as l occasion d aller voir sur google il y a des films qui montrent ses visites avec son maitre. Évidemment sa crinière et sa queue sont soigneusement nattees et coiffées et ses sabots désinfectés... c est extraordinaire à voir... Quand je vois Peyo question caractère il me fait penser à Apollo. Par contre physiquement ce n est pas du tout un frison. Mais c est le caractère calme et intelligent d Apollo... Je vous envoie de grosses bises. 🗼🗼🗼🗼

I have noticed that the Arabian seems to always carry his tail hitched over to the left side - is this from an injury or is it considered a birth conformation defect?
