Thank you Sabrina. I found it very informative! I think your speaking pace was perfect. Because my time is limited, I appreciate that you get to the point quickly :)

I hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse into a typical day and month in the life of an instructional designer! As you saw, the role involves a lot of variety and requires balancing different tasks. I’m curious - how does Jesse’s routine compare to your day-to-day? Are there tasks you prioritize differently? Let us know 😄

I've been on the job for a month and I've had to finish 3 bandaid style elearnings, learn the new LMS, and start a needs analysis for a project that should take about 3 years but they need by next year.... I want to sleep

Nice! I really want to get into a SR LED role or Enablement role because I currently work as an LMS Admin and manage the other learning technologies within our company. I really dont create content. I just make sure that it is running and it is communicating with other customers' systems.

That's awesome! It sounds like your background in LMS management will only help you in that scenario, you may have to upskill a bit to showcase your skillsets in LXD, but it's never to late to start the process. Thanks for watching!

Is this a typical day for a freelance ID? Do corporate ID’s usually develop e learning from scratch all on their own?
@DevlinPeckYT2 ай бұрын
It depends on the role! For example, larger companies can have entire teams of IDs working on different stages of the design and development process.

Hi! I’m an ID for a Fortune 500 company and I will say my day to day look’s primarily the same, but for 95% of my courses, I am given content from our project managers, then build out the course. I primarily work in the Development stage of ADDIE. We are a global company, so we do a lot of different things like create videos (very simple ones, mind you), write captions, build courses, create PPTs, design logos, flyers, and attend meetings. I should say we are a full remote department that meets once a year. Hope this was helpful!

@@SabrinaGonzalesDP how did you switch from teaching math to instructional design? I’m currently a public librarian interested in switching careers.

Sabrina speaks SO FAST. It was hard to follow, even with the subtitles on.

Sorry if I was going too quickly, Jacqueline. At the bottom of the KZbin player, you can select the settings wheel and change the playback speed 😊

@@SabrinaGonzalesDP I really liked the pacing, I didn’t have to watch on 1.5x

I can speak quickly in my videos too. I'm glad YT offers the features to adjust the speed :)
