Can't be. They were clearly all peace-loving, spirit-worshipping peyote smokers who just wanted to live in peace until the mean old white guys showed up and brutally repressed and genocided them with their repression and genocide. Had it not been for those terrible white people who should be shunned and hated, the natives would still be holding hands in peace and harmony today. Just ask Howard Zinn or any American high school teacher. (Yes, I totally agree with you! Real history is complex and fascinating. I wish we learned it instead of narrative-driven drivel.)

@@XOPOIIIO ~ There was conflict and war, but it was amongst peoples who had lived in those areas for thousands of years. Every human civilization wars against other groups when they want to take something from others around them. Greed, control, hate... these are not new feelings. They represent the worst of human's universal primal instincts. But pre-Columbian era, South American native peoples were warring amongst themselves. Having an outside people/force come in and take over everything is the issue in colonialism. Surely we can all see how colonialism differs from indigenous warring. When you wipe out previous civilations and take over, that is wrong. So much is lost to history this way, besides the obvious immorality of it. What makes colonialism so bad is largely the scale to which foreign invaders took over lands and people that had been there for countless generations. All the bad things about war, level 9000.
@XOPOIIIO
@XOPOIIIO Жыл бұрын
@@alibobali4032 Incas wasn't native to the lands they invaded. There were no "warring among themselves", because these were different groups with different cultures, languages and customs that you homogenizing under the term "natives", but they were just as foreign to each other as to Europeans, safe for the guns and large ships. What about the scale... Pre-columbian Empires were quite large, they were limited by technologies, not by desires to expand even further.

@@XOPOIIIO - If a people are so ancient to a geographical area that there is no known history for where they came from, that to me is "native." I'm sure Incas did come from somewhere else, or were a mixture of even more ancient tribes, but how long ago? No one knows, right?
@XOPOIIIO

@@alibobali4032 But by the same logic you could say that colonization of Africa by Europeans was "a fight among themselves", because first Europe and Africa is geographically the same landmass, and second, we know for sure that Europeans originated from Africa.

I was about to say sadly, the uprising was a failure and the Inca burned the city to the ground as punishment. The Inca were pretty savage to the people they ruled over. Maybe next, could you do one on the Incan Civil War that happened right before the Spanish showed up? South American history is very interesting before the Europeans came. Thanks.

Same in Mexico. The Spanish conquerors would have never won if the Tlaxcala, in their hatred for the Mexica of Tenochtitlan, did not ally with them. There was a lot of infighting between the Mesoamerican kingdoms before the Europeans came.

They were not that savage, most who got subordinated inside the empire were integrated, but if you want to keep an empire together, u gotta be ruthless against those who want revolt against the power, is normal history. Also is not true that Incas burned the whole the city to the ground, they burned the main wall to gain access to the city and the defensive and administrative areas, u can still visit the city to this day, i live 10 mins away from it, most the reason why some parts are not well preserved is because of heavy rains and in colonial times when the city was empty spanish thought the walls had gold inside, but u can visit a lot of the city as it was before now with restaoration works, is a 20km archeology complex

@@antoniousai1989 Reminds me about when the Portuguese reached India, there where kingdoms all enemies of each other, so no doubt the Portuguese made allies and enemies and took the advantage of these enmities to their advantage, but I would argue the major differences between the indigenous Americans and the Indians is immunity to diseases, technological differences and having contact with even Portuguese enemies, if not then the native Americans could have driven out the Spanish. In the early days within India, the Portuguese had the advantages of having Cannons and the best navy of the time, so they won easy victories with cannons and navy, but they stuck to the coast due to their cannon ships, as going deep into India means they meet a army which is beyond the range of their ships. Technological differences here is, both sides had horses and iron technology, but didn't have cannons, while native Americans didn't have horses or iron. So after the king saw the effectiveness of Portuguese ships and cannons, he hired venetian, Turkish, Egyptian cannon engineers and shipbuilders to build ships the Portuguese way, thereby putting an end to the technological gap, something native Americans couldn't do.
@antoniousai1989

@@AnonymousAnonymous-dc3jm I mean, Indians were also more or less equivalent to Europeans technologically. Mesoamericans were basically in the bronze age, and meeting civilizations with a long history of diplomacy, strategy, and large-scale warfare and able to exploit any weakness and win even in reduced numbers. It's really not a comparison, as sophisticated as the Mesoamericans were, their civilization wasn't at the same level as the Eurasian ones by a large margin.

It is likely the Chimu saw the Incas as barbarians, with their fondness of austere practices, their minimalistic art, their sober textiles on which even Inca kings dressed with, as for they valued the finesse of textiles made with the undyable brown wool of a vicuña more than precious metals, in comparison the Moche and Chimu kings dressed in lavish attires adorned with gold from head to toes, on their first meeting Pizarro confused the Chimu ruler next to Atahualpa as the Inca king because of said different dressing customs. Today like 95% of what you have seen passed as Inca on the internet, is actually Chimu or pre-Chimu (if it isn't Aztec or Mayan). Sure, a Chimu person could have found beauty in the simplicity of the Inca stone walls but the Chimu came from an interrupted 5000-year-old line of adobe frieze makers of beautiful dressings and intricacy.

@@jamesrosewell9081 This would have been more like 30 years from the fall. The conquest of the Chimu was archived by Topa Yupanqui, but his father Pachacuti was the king at the time. However, the Chimu rebellion, well the last one that made Chan Chan desolated, happened during Wayna Qhapaq's reign, the son of Topa Yupanqui, and who was still king during the very first Spanish expedition of Peru, although Pizarro never met him since he very brieftly visited a couple of coastal places before returning to Spain to seek funds and people, and returning back when Atahualpa became the de facto leader after the sudden death of Wayna Qhapaq resulted in a civil war.

The difference is mostly in scale. You can't compare the domination by a regional power with the domination by a overseas power that conquered almost all of a foreign continent, leading to the ethnocide and genocide of thons of amerindian cultures. Both were brutal and should be regarded as such and not softened as "part of the way", but there is a huge difference in scale.

They would have been better off if they hadn't fostered the hatred of the tribes and kingdoms they had conquered and subjugated. As all empires, they were built on violence and oppression, and that would eventually bring their downfall.

OMG The Chimú wouldn’t have looked like that. Short hair? Are you showing messages and plans on paper? What? Check out the myriads of existing ancient and scientifically reconstructed Chimú representations.

@@ElChicoBush Idk about the Chimu but the Incas almost often had short hair, razor cut sometimes even, well the Hanan moiety did but they were the largest/most powerful anyways

What are you talking about. With the spanish conquerors came pandemics that killed millions, came the encomiendas, then the corregidores, the mita, the obrajes, etc. It all resulted in millions and millions of dead, an actual genocide. The only people that prospered were the spanish elite in the americas and the royal families back in spain.

God loves you and takes care of you so that this message reaches you. God is the one who created this great universe and has complete control over it. And the greatest loss that a person loses in this life is that he lives while he does not know God who created him, knowing the Messenger of Muhammad, the last of the messengers, and the Islamic religion, the last of the heavenly religions. The great intelligence, before you believe in something or not, is to read it, study it, and understand it well, and then you have the choice to believe in it or not. I advise you on this now before you do not have time to do that.

anything that hasnt clearly directly influenced the modern times we live in isnt gonna get attention because it doesnt serve much learning about it and time is limited and valuable especially since the last 500 or so years have almost exclusively been dominated by european powers and advancments in every field possible in contrast its the rest of the world that adapted to europe and europeans and not the other way around from clothing to building to food to health to medicine to art etc etc
