This was our first Saturday living in our new home. We couldn't wait to shop at the FARMERS MARKET in the morning and attend a live sports event, the WOMENS RUGBY WORLD CUP in the afternoon. Take note on how the weather completely changed during the day lol Definitely going to take some getting used to.

Hi guys, Whangarei local here. Welcome to NZ. A great day out would be to visit the Kerikeri markets on a Saturday morning. An easy 1hr drive, but well worth it. Lots to browse through and yummy eats. The homemade mussel fritters made by mum and daughter are to die for. While there visit Paihia and Waitangi. Lots to see and do. Also hot thetmal pools are a must if you dont mind smelling like sulphur but oh so relaxing, at Ngawha while you are up there. Have fun and Enjoy😊💕

What’s always funny is watching the faces of new emigrants faces as they go on public transport, find their local library with all its add ons, councils that actually do their job and the last but most important, the cleanliness of the areas. Hopefully you never need it, but the healthcare is apparently very good. The main thing is everything works which is awesome

I used to live in Whangarei for over 20 years and loved it so much I miss Whangarei Heads, Ocean Beach and heading east to Tutukaka and sandy beach. Miss heading to the bay of Islands. I used to be the chef at Fat camel a few years ago, hope you tried the kababs and the coffee is to die for. loving your content sorry about the weather, but as they say "the winterless North just wait an hour for it to change" awesome you are now adopted kiwi's, make sure you have a braai as there is an amazing South Afican shop about 30mins south in Wellsford that's sells amazing food for a braai.

Triumph comes from the "Tri-ompos", the "three-jumps", that the Consults, the "Con-saltus" (most probably "the ones who jump together", not 100% sure), would do after returning from war, in their ritual dance, in the most primitive Republican Rome. What do they say when you're about to jump, full of energy? That you've got "Oomph" or "Umph"? Well, that's it! Same Indo-European root! So yes, "triumph" is about "Umph", or "Oomph"...Words history is full of surprises.

Ag so lekker seeing you guys adjusting to your new surroundings. I haven't looked much, I don't seem to recall coming across any vids on South Africans immigrating to a new country and how they adjust. Although I know so many who have immigrated, they really don't talk about the experience, nor the little things as far as having to choose a lawnmower. hehehehe. and if Craig is like me, he'd do stacks of research - analysis-paralysis. hahahaha. love it! I must say, we are super spoilt in SA that we are able to hire a garden service and a domestic and not having to spend time on weekends clearing the house, mowing the lawn, etc. I think that would a huge adjustment for me if we ever had to immigrate. Bunnings - ooooo, now THAT place I'd get lost in !! AND walk out with stuff like a new drill and tools which of course which be the one of the first things I'd have to buy when in a new country - and with stuff that I probably don't need. hahaha. Have fun!

Hi Glen, thanks for your comment 😊 Must say, it’s quite daunting sharing our experience on the internet 😅 but we’re hoping it would help others on a similar journey, our families get to see everything we get up to, and it gives people an idea of what the whole experience is like 😊 Lol, analysis paralysis is real! Especially kitting out a house with brands we don’t know 🙈 the next big thing is a car, and making these decisions are getting harder and harder 😅 Definitely spoilt in SA with garden services and having a weekly cleaner. Now we’re doing everything ourselves. And Bunnings is amazing, even I enjoyed it, especially after seeing they had pink garden equipment, but Craig wasn’t to keen to get it 😂

@@BeingBedingfield ahhh so cool and thanks for opening yourselves up to sharing your experiences. The car is an easy decision - you now live in a country where you can buy a Tesla (my dream car) .. hahahaha buuuut, they are verrry expensive. But good luck on that decision though.
