Alex Shelnutt is a very good drummer. So many of the music majors come onto the internet and hate on him because he isn't playing stuff that requires insane rudiments or complexity. Alex has a very solid groove and writes some pretty sick drum parts for ADTR. His style fits their style perfectly and I think that he is one of the best hardcore drummers ever.

I don't think he's one of the best, but he's pretty good. He used to be just "meh," back when I saw them a few times post-Homesick he would speed up all of the songs to a ridiculous pace or lose the tempo in transitions. He doesn't do that anymore, and he's definitely one of the most improved drummers in the scene.

I disagree. Listen to the this music, any drummer could play along to a song like this, but he doesn't just do basic things. This guy adds in A LOT of little things most drummers wouldn't have thought out. He is a true musician. I guarentee he is capable of more difficult drumming. But its the small things that show how great he really is

Zildjian Oriental China "Trash" I believe 18" but might 16", so don't quote me. In my opinion, nothing beats the orientals, I like to use 14", 16" and 18" if i have access to all 3

Thank you Sterling, I sometimes have difficulty noting the sizes of cymbals from videos. That being said, I would recommend the 18" to you Phisher if you like a really loud trashy sound with a nice decay (in my opinion). If you want a bit less decay at the cost of a slight volume reduction I would recommend the 16". (I would only recommend the 14" as a cymbal to be used like a splash).
