@@DrDrayzday hey dr dray I'm wondering why you use a BHA in the morning a normal cleanser at night and not the other way around .. why not use BHA at night why the morning ?
@CK-jm7sq
@CK-jm7sq 3 жыл бұрын
@@sarahmyriambourassa I think it's because around the time of this video she was using adapalene at night, and using a BHA at the same time can be highly irritating. By splitting it so the adapalene goes on at night and the BHA in the morning, it reduces that irritation, and BHA with sunscreen is better than adapalene with sunscreen during the day bc sun exposure

I've had a mild form of cystic acne for over 2 years now. I have tried seemingly every face wash/ scrub/ acne treatment (both over the counter and prescription). Nothing cleared my skin, or even made it remotely better, BUT I tried Dr. Dray's skimcare routine and my skin started clearing in a week. I've been doing it now for 3 weeks or so and my skim has NEVER been better. It's easy, simple, and effective. Thank you sooooo much Dr. Dray for sharing all of these tips!

Hi Dr. Dray! GREAT video as usual. I liked this one even more. I like the way you had all of your products lined up on the counter and how you presented your routine step by step, explaining your reasoning behind each step. It's also great to know how simple and inexpensive our skin care routine can be, especially since we seem to be bombarded with so much info about skin care products we just "have to have". It's great to have you, as a dermatologist, remove so much of this "noise" from our lives! Thanks!! Looking forward to your nighttime video too! Rita

I have watched several different videos of Dr Dray and have made my own NEW skin care routine. Luckily for me I had a lot of the products she mentioned in various videos and to go out and purchase them will not break the bank...so to my point...a month and a half in and my skins looks radiant. I was having hormonal chin breakouts and trying to fight fine lines under my eyes (I'm 32). It was such a struggle until I found dr dray. I still get some breakouts but they are very small and heal rather quickly...finally a doctor who knows what they are talking about..Thanks Dr Dray

I finally found an elegant , tinted, cheap sunscreen...thanks to Angie of hotandflashy. She regularly tests sunscreens for the mature face. This one is a homerun! Doesn't burn , not greasy or ghostly , and is $12.50 a tube. It is Australian Gold botanical sunscreen face spf 50. Right now cvs is having a buy one, get 1 50% off. It is an all physical,titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, and contains the iron oxides you are a fan of. I may like it better than the elta tinted 41....at least I like the price a lot more!

I use Ombrelle Ultra Light Sunscreen SPF 60. It has UVA and UVB protection and is a mineral sunscreen. I love it because it doesn't feel heavy on my face even when applied generously. It is a very fluid product and is also tinted. In the summer, I replace my foundation with this product. That way, I can reapply it every two hours without messing up my make-up (I teapply my blush after reapplying the sunscreen). I am from Canada. I am not sure if this is made in the USA? I was in Michigan last week and didn't see it at Wal-Mart. It is made by Garnier. In Canada it costs $16.00 for 50 mL.

I tried the Neutrogena Sheer Zinc SPF 50, which has a flower extract, so I thought it might work. However, the musky flower smell was so strong I couldn't use it. Thank you for sharing this! I am 22 years old living in the UK, trying hard to have a good skincare routine I won't beat myself up over it when I'm older. I currently begin by using Shiseido Senka Aging Care UV sunscreen over my face and neck -- this appears to be a chemical sunscreen with Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate as the main ingredient. I top it off with Innisfree Ampoule Cover Cushion SPF 50+/PA+++which comes with Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. I prefer Asian sunscreens (and products in general) since they are cosmetically elegant and seem to work better on my skin -- perhaps because I'm Asian so I'm their target market? How that summer's here, I also use Garnier's Ambre Solaire Ultra-hydrating Sun Cream SPF50+ on my neck, arms, hands, feet and legs (or any other exposed areas of skin). I really really dislike this sunscreen -- it feels too thick and sticky, smells funny and leaves that dreaded white tint on my skin that makes me look like a ghost! I would have done away with it but I'm extra worried about the sun since it's summer, but I can't justify rubbing Shiseido's sunscreen all over my body!! :( Do you have any (very) decently-priced, over the counter sunscreens that are suitable for everyday wear on your body?

I really enjoyed this video and your intelligent, funny explanations are brilliant. One thing that has really surprised me is that you apply sunscreen so many times during the day and you don't seem to have an obvious white film by the end of the day. I have made a big change since watching your videos by starting to use sunscreen every day but need to work out how I could reapply over my foundation during the day. I also need to adequately protect my hands and lips from the sun - still working on that. Please keep sharing your expertise! We need more content like this on KZbin!

I like your simple approach to skin care. I have melasma on both cheeks that bother me so much. I had a chemical peel at my derm's office and that helped, but now I use sunscreen and always wear a hat against the Texas sun. I suspect my birth control pill as the cause of my melasma, because it only showed up when I started this one. Could there be a link?

I've been using the Paula's Choice Resist SPF 50 on my face and ears, then I come in from the neck and shoulders downward with the Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (or 50) Lotion Sunscreen ("Ultra Radiance," "Non-Greasy," etc. lol 😁) The HT one is a chemical sunscreen. It's minimally greasy. Honestly I find it kind of pleasantly moisturizing. I don't mind the moist feeling, I actually prefer it to dry-touch type sunscreens. It's never irritated me, I can regoop over and over without feeling coated, and it leaves my skin feeling nicely moisturized. It smells nice too. The PC one is very liquidy, which I like because I can layer on a good amount without it feeling heavy. Its definitely a little greasy, but more of a pleasantly moisturized feeling, not an I-sprayed-PAM-on-my-face feeling. 😂 I really want to try a tinted sunscreen from Elta MD, I'm just worried about it looking funny on my porcelain skin. Great video! 🌻

I got the healing ointment for my lips and it was very underwhelming. My lips still looked dry and kept cracking and bleeding like normal when I smile too much. It also doesn't last as long on the lips as other lip balms that are tackier. :( I wont repurchase because I like very emollient lip balms that linger on the lips for many hours. I still use it on scrapes and lips at night though, so it wont be wasted. That cleanser you are using in the morning is super drying, I'm surprised you like it. Perhaps your skin is less sensitive than mine. My favorite sunscreen from the drugstore has to be Cetaphil Dermacontrol spf 30. Its super easy to spread. ALso Cetaphil came out with a lightweight (yay!) moisturizer with hyaluronic acid, which makes me super happy because I have combination, breakout prone skin and have been able to use it at night without breaking out so far. Fingers crossed it keeps working fine. Other sunscreens I think are nice are Clinique face cream spf 30 and Paulas Choice Skin Balancing SPf 30 (good for oily skin, This is the one I use daily on my face).

I like Cetaphil Moisturizer as well, but not a fan of Dermacontrol sunscreen. It is a chemical sunscreen and I have tested it under Florida sun. Unfortunately it does not hold up to the test though I applied enough amount. Chemical sunscreen ingredient Avobenzone is not photo stable so it requires frequent reapplication, but in reality no one can reapply the same 'liberal amount' two to three times a day. That's why I think mineral sunscreen is preferred.

Dr Dray Yeah :) I also think something is wrong with my lips. They she'd skin a lot. I cannot use lip products except lip balm and some glosses because it makes it worse. I wonder if using lipbalm/ointments makes my lips more prone to splitting instead of being good prevention. I just love feeling emollient balms on my lips.
