I am on Benzos for a movement disorder (Lance Adams Syndrome). Going through severe depression past 5 months. I’m slowly cutting down as I know I can heal. My GP’s just tell me to take more benzos which categorically I refuse. It’s not been easy as I now have insomnia (never had problems sleeping before). Have to force myself to get out of this funk as soon ta a horrible feeling. Started exercising and taking supplements and foods that help with brain health. I also fast regularly. Love your videos, Gabor Mate. I’m studying to become a coach. Complete 360 degrees change of career at 58. Life’s too short and I want to do what resonates.

My ex has autism and adhd and uses marij ana regularly. His 17 year old now lives with him, has self harmed and was taken advantage of by a 29 year old man. Her mother and boyfriend use cocaine and drink. My ex, when she stays with him, let’s her smoke marijuana, buys her condoms and the after-day pill. He tells her to he careful with drugs and alcohol. She was s very open with him and they are close. She tells him everything. I wonder why f that’s better than punishing or grounding her. She’s come home from school drunk with a friend and I was appalled when he let her and her friend stay over after being suspended from school. It’s as if f she was being rewarded. He buys her the marijuana and vapes. I hope she’ll turn out ok but I wonder what everyone’s thoughts are. He used to do heavy drugs in his 20’s to 30’s and he’s now 56. I’m not n his life anymore but I’m wondering what everyone’s thoughts are. He’s made her see a therapist twice but she said she didn’t need it so that’s stopped. He says she’s very smart and she’ll be fine. Perhaps she will be but I think it’s so highly dysfunctional. He’s highly functioning but doesn’t seem to have values or boundaries. His only friends are 2 women friends who are cocaine addicts and he has no concerns about his daughter hanging out with them. I’m not going be to judge and I certainly can’t meddle (I did exoress my concerns but he didn’t want to talk about it when we were together. I don’t drink or smoke or do any drugs. I just hope she’s one of the exceptions to the rule but I’m concerned. What are he statistics on young girls this age? Oh, he also lets her live with her friend’s family most of the time. I’m gobsmacked. Be never seen anything like that t. Honk he’s trying to make up for the past 16 years of mostly being out of his kids’ life and just seeing and talking to them on a regular basis. He’s very kind and non-judgmental but…..I can’t do anything so I just focus on fixing my life and taking care of myself. I just wish them love and healing.
