Listening to you discussing this movie made me realise that there are similar themes to 'I saw the TV glow' released earlier this year about learning to accept and be yourself.

I Saw the TV Glow is my favorite movie of the year. Definitely can see some similarities!

I haven’t read or watched a single interview with the director but I can guarantee he wrote and directed this movie with and for Adam Pearson , influenced by how Adam is as a person, because he also starred in the directors first film. Adam is primarily a tv presenter / journalist here in the U.K. as well as a campaigner for rights and anti bullying re people with deformities and disabilities , he has a very affable personality and people warm to him really quickly -just like the character in the film he doesn’t let the condition hold him back- his only acting roles really have been this directors two films where he has been cast because of his appearance and personality combined, and his part in under the skin. I think he has aspirations to act more, so hopefully this movie will help him achieve that- imagine if he was cast in roles where his appearance had nothing to do with the character or why he was cast, that would be the ultimate compliment to his campaigning and talent.

He is truly remarkable in the movie. Every scene he is in he is so captivating and he's very funny and charming. I hope he gets a lot more work from this movie!
