yessss. CH is great but I notice a lot of the sketches far too transparently involve somebody pointing out the how ridiculous somebody else is acting, which cuts too close to killing the joke for me. I mean, maybe it's what works best overall. I'm not a comedy expert. But, either way, I never cared enough to comment about it until I saw yours expressing the same sentiment I had.

I think my personal problem with the ways I've seen the straight man role played is more when when they're literally explaining the joke rather than more "subtly" being the normal one. "Subtly" as in making in-character comments but still not actually explaining explicitly what's weird about the situation.
