I am £1.80 over the limit for pension credit 67 yrs I old worked in minimum wage jobs for 52 yrs I am now retired due to ill health I have heart disease lung disease and diabetes, I can only afford to put my heating on for 1 hour on a morning and 1 hour on an evening I am currently sat with a hot water bottle a blanket and woolly jumper on this is not what I envisaged for my retirement. Yet those coming in on the boats don’t have to worry about any of this as they are well looked after.

This saddens me so much, my mum brought 10 children up and worked when she could, she looked forward to that heating allowance every year and it saw her through Christmas as she’s on a pay as you go meter, I swore she wouldn’t go without it and saved £300 to put in her bank next month, the even saddest thing is she is now in hospital after my sister found her on the floor after she suffered a massive stroke 😞 all her pension went on hearing her home and council tax, water and other bills, she beat lung cancer last year and has been in and out of hospital with heart attacks and kidney infections, the last thing she needed to know was the government doesn’t care about the elderly and stopped that allowance! I know there are pensioners who have worked hard and are rich compared to my mum who only gets the basic pension and I’ve tried to apply fo pension credit for her but for some reason she isn’t entitled to it, she even has to pay do her glasses, my mum was always a young looking mum and never looked her age until this stroke, the DRs gave her 72 to live as they couldn’t get to the blood clot in her brain, five weeks on she’s still here still fighting! She has lost her right side, can’t eat or speak but thank god she recognises us, at least I know while my mum is in hospital she’s warm and not sat in the cold worrying about her bills! I’m so upset about all these pensioners who are on the bare bones pension and are going to be extremely poorly or worse this Christmas! That PM needs ousting! They are all lining their own pockets and taking from the elderly and vulnerable it’s a crime and he should be locked up for it!

I'm £1.80 over. As I post this comment the temperature is currently 10 degrees in my house.I do not put the heating on and on my last bill from B.Gass I paid more in standing charges than the gas I used, electric was just a few £ over the standing charge. Recently arrived boat people if housed in private or social housing pay no bill's gas, electric water council tax. This is clearly stated on the Home office website we can also add free cell phone and mobile data TV licence and whatever extra the local government has to offer I have also had heart surgery they discovered I was type 2 diabetic at the same time ,
