When I was in college I got my degree in criminology, the majority of my instructors were cops or former cops. The first thing EVERY single one of them told us on the first day was never ever talk to the cops without a lawyer present. No matter the circumstances the cops will always try to make you fit their narrative.

8 hours, sheez. Makes me happy the one time I was involved in a case, the cops who interviewed mee were chill and used my testimony to connect dots instead of playing my words to get a culprit. Short version of case. They found a dead man with a document with my name on it

Those pigs were crap detectives, and them saying that having an attorney made him look bad should get them 100 hours community service. And when I was a correctional officer, if I was wrong, I admitted it. Anyone that tried it lord it over me was a scumbag any ways and would never not be a problem, but it helps with the normal inmates. I hate corrupt officials.
