Welcome to the Waiting for Underverse 0.8 Club, ETA approximately one year, minus a little. In the meantime, here are my own suggestions for what to watch: Who Dr. Gaster is and Why That Matters to Deltarune (Misty Sparkles): Everything you could want to know about canon Gaster. The Thought (Starbot Dubs): Trust me. Everybody loves it. Underplayer (Sans Comic TV): My personal favorite AU. People don't seem to talk about it much, but everyone seems to agree it's really good. If you thought Underverse was meta, you haven't seen anything. Aftertale (Dion06): Geno's canon story. Holds up very well. Ask Error!Sans (Candy Queen): Error's canon story. Ultratale (Animated Zorox): Not especially impressive story-wise, but the animation holds up quite well. Xtale comic dub (Pajaro del almaa): Goes into more depth on the events of Timeline X. The dub is Spanish, but the text is English, and that's the closest I can find to an English dub. Epictale preboot (don't remember right now): One of the more famous AUs. I specify preboot because not much of the new run seems to have been dubbed. Horrortale (Ethan T): A twisted timeline after a neutral run where the CORE no longer works, and the monsters are truly that: monsters. UT Mob (Starbot Dubs): Nothing specific to really say about it, except it's really good. You could watch it all in one sitting. Christmas Party AU (Starbot Dubs): A Christmas tradition. Xmas Party AU (Skellington Dubs): A fan-made continuation of CPAU. Underevent 2022 and 2023: Compilations of UT/DR fan projects ranging from comics to fan games. The truest measure of what this community is capable of. And it has LORE.

Honestly thank u for mentioning CPAU, The Thought and Underplayer. Almost no one has considered reacting/talking about those for a long time and I would love to see what his thoughts on them are. Although if he ever does react to the massive CPAU dub, he should definitely look up the last bit that was never covered by Sans Comic TV.

To clarify, Back in underverse 0.4, killer explained it better where the characters in alternate timelines sometimes know what is happening in other timelines that belong in their universe, as killer explained it "An anomaly from a main Universe, changed forever by forced decisions." as he really is just sans from the og undertale just soo damn corrupted by what happened to him in his timeline.

Fun fact but the aftertale cast designs are slightly different to reference Crayon Queen's more cartoonish art style. Like Alphys having more simple eyes and Frisks hair being rounded on the ends instead of pointed. Also Frisk being mute is also a reference. In Aftertale Frisk was mostly mute only speaking when they needed to. The flashback with geno in the save screen was colored like the og comic as well. What I'm saying is the entire opening scenes of this episode really feel like a giant love letter to Aftertale from Jakei. There just so many little details from the comic and a big Aftertale fan it made me really happy to see it done in Underverse with such love and respect.

Guess who decided to become a member just to watch this thing sooner... - 6:25 YEAH!!! XGaster took away his scar when he brought back Cross in 0.4! - 9:40 what Sans is impliying here is the same thing Killer has said before: characters from branched timelines can have linked memories to their original counterparts. That's why Geno, After!Sans, Killer and so on know who Cross is, they remember what the original Sans went through with him. - What's going on is that XGaster is basically sheltering the Main Timeline from all others, trying to isolate it to do whatever he wants with it. That's why he needed the core code of this world. - 14:39 Damn, you missed it!!! At this moment, Error's face flashes over Geno's as he speaks of alternate selves, showing how they're the same person for anyone who hasn't seen the actual lore before. - 15:01 I don't think that's the case! I think that purple void is XGaster's perspective, since he's kind of reaching out in a sort of astral-self way. He only sees his objective and the ones around him! - 15:16 Okay so THIS is QUITE interesting: So, the OVERWRITE button works like a command box, we've seen that with X!Chara showing commands before overwriting. Fatal was able to intercept XGaster's command before he executed it, and redirect the portal to his own void. Fatal quite literally overwrote the overwrite. This man is a menace to XGaster. - 20:10 Okay I think you have a point there, Gaster shouldn't be able to be there. But I think it's more of a creative liberty Jakei took, and not something of plot relevance. - 21:26 Actually I think it's the other way around! W.D. Gaster seems far wiser than XGaster. Probably because he was able to experience time and space as a whole after his incident. Still, we only know that Gaster did good deeds when he was on our terrenal plane. Like inventing the CORE of energy that feeds the underground! The only reason he's like this now is because he had an accident, so yeah, I think W.D. is far wiser and more sane than X. - 22:23 I think the reason Fatal is able to hear Gaster is because he's seeing XGaster through Cross, kind of like watching through a screen. That's the whole reason he's attacking Cross, to get XGaster. - Remember, the entire time Fatal is speaking he is only, and solely directing to XGaster. "I can read your CODE. It's calling for a worthy user." Fatal wants the OVERWRITE button. Why? I think it's because he's out of test subjects. The multiverse is gone thanks to Error, so he can't snatch Sanses and Papyruses form alternate universes anymore. Then he finds out about OVERWRITE and that it's capable of creating code from scratch, a thing Fatal can't do, he can only edit already-existing code. He NEEDS that power. He needs Papyrus. He needs XGaster. - 25:40 I think Gaster goes from shock to XGaster reacting like that to saying "Heh, I was right. You are scared." - The last scene could be setting up that Geno to become Error. Like in the original story. After getting his happy ending, he's not content, he wants something better, and then he loses everything and sends himself into the Anti-void initially. It's really sad that this Geno, who seemed like a genuely good and kind person, will suffer one of the worst fates of the multiverse just because he tried to chew more than he could swallow. He's kind of similar to Icarus in that way if you think about it, only Icarus got away easy. Geno will have to suffer for the rest of his glitchy life... - You don't have to wait a year! Maybe... Jakei doesn't really like 1 year waits, she does things as fast as she can while giving her best. For example, this episode was an October release, while Part 1 was a December release. That's less than a year! For... two months... still! It's not going to be that long before we start getting news. Anyways, I'm glad I was able to join you in this journey, buddy. I'm glad you read my comments, and I'm glad you enjoyed this ride! Now, let's see where the Undertale fandom takes you while we wait for 0.8 Part 1! Also, 0.8 will have 3 parts, being the longest episode ever. Thanks for reading once again pal. Next time we'll see the new episode at the same time, and I will be just as confused as you, so don't expect me to be able to help too much! (just kidding)

@@Gladki_Lucas In the multiverse, more than one version of the same character are know to exist. Multiple Inks, Errors, and so on. EVERYTHING has an alternate version. That incluides the multiverse itself. That's what the concept of an "Alternate Multiverse" is. That happens in canon. Crayon Queen, creator of Error, has addressed that there is a chance of more than one Error!Sans existing in the Multiverse. The thing is: Error constantly erases characters who have a chance of becoming himself.

Oof... Imma be honest, I don't really know what to say with this one. Yeah, a common theory is that the dialogue at the end is the start of Error. Speaking of, when Geno was talking to XGaster, there's a moment of Error's face flashing over his own. I.. kinda thought you'd look at that frame, but.. you looked at everything except that. Weird. Also... I'm pretty sure you're *WAY* overthinking the whole "character hallucination" thing. It's literally just Gaster mocking XGaster and Fatal wanting him gone. "Tell that annoying man to shut up, this is between you and me". As for why Fatal is so interested in XGaster in the first place.. that should be obvious. The OVERWRITE button can literally create absolutely anything. Like, say.. just as a random example.. a Papyrus, maybe? Anyway.. as always, follow-up questions and/or counterpoints are welcomed c:

I think the fact that Cross talked to Geno about his whole situation caused a domino effect with the other two: Fatal got interested only NOW about Cross (even though he got a copy of him before if we're to take that as canon) because of that and is after the Overwrite Button (another interesting thing is that Cross was at some point a swap sans clone, making him even more of a target for Fatal And Error now knows what the whole x-event is about, but who the hell knows what he'll do with that information, maybe stop x gaster since he's messing with the original AU???? idk man I'm not insane enough to understand Error

I mean, that’s how Geno himself found out about it. Except… Error doesn’t even remember ever *being* Geno, so his memories are probably completely disconnected from the whole concept anyway. So we should probably consider him a totally separate character in this instance.

I'm surprised that you missed the detail of Geno flashing into Error. Your usually really good at pick up on those quick flashes. But yeah, Geno very briefly flashes into a version of Error wearing glasses when he's talking to X'Gaster.

This whole episode is one big love-letter to Aftertale. The artstyle, character design, artstyle, even some speech patern match really closely to the original comic. Aftertale is one of the BIG original AU, so it's nice to see so much love

Okay, so what Aftertale!Sans said there? "Only those who have seen reality's darkest side are linked"? That's just an extra poetic-and-such way to put Killer's prior explanation of how AUs and ATs work in Underverse. AUs (alternate universes) are essentially their own separate worlds using Undertale as a base, while ATs (alternate timelines) are... well, special unique timelines that are definitively tied to a particular universe (usually the original Undertale universe) even if they aren't possible in the game. Aftertale is one such AT. It's just as much a branch of the original Undertale timeline as any standard pacifist, neutral, or genocide timeline. _Here's the thing though._ Jakei has decided to make it so that someone from a particular universe is directly linked to all of their alternate timeline counterparts, and anything that they undergo in the standard timelines is at least somewhat remembered by said other versions of themselves. Killer and the Aftertale duo are both AT variations of the original Undertale Sans, and since _he_ has personal experience with the X-Event, _they_ also have knowledge of it.

10:10 that sans isnt the sans that was in the events of the X!Event, but they are capable of remembering the events of the X!Event upon seeing cross, which basically makes him recall things from his original timeline counterpart, both are from the same universe, tho different timelines, the same way Killer remembered XChara during 0.4

dunno if you actually realized, but the reason why Aftertale's characters look so different is because Jakei decided to mimic the original creator(Crayon Queen, also the creator of Fresh and Error)'s art style, also making reference of how the comic was drawn in 14:25, mostly with brushes that have similarities with crayons also, in 6:13 Cross don't have his scar anymore because XGaster has overwritten his code in the end of 0.4. if you check the episode again, you will notice that his scar is gone (and probably will never come back)

At first I was kind of disappointed we weren't gonna get an XGaster-Fatal fight, because of how poetic it would be, Fatal being antithetical to everything XGaster stands for. But then I thought of something: That wouldn't be a fight, it would be a murder. XGaster isn't especially strong, at least not by his own AU's scaling. And we saw what happened when Fatal got to Cross, who is quite strong by Xtale's standards, in the former's comic. 3:19 This takes place after Aftertale's canon story. It's fine because it's an Alternate Timeline, not a full-blown AU. Error usually leaves them alone. 5:48 Huh, never thought about it like that before. 10:29 Some people have been waiting for that for years. 20:20 UT!Gaster is everywhere all at once, meaning he *could* theoretically be capable of appearing wherever he chooses. 25:43 XGaster proved him right. XGASTER IS SCARED. 31:53 You are. Fatal is created sometime before or in the middle of the events directly shown in Aftertale, supported by Geno talking about a "good run". At most, it could've been building up to this Geno becoming Error. Not that that's good either.

Fun Fact: At 14:35 you briefly see a flash of error sans wearing glasses overlayed on genos face which is not only a refrence to error being a future version of geno but also cuz error is near-sighted hence the glasses, he stopped wearing them because they broke or smthin i cant remember

31:17 thats not how we get fatal, fatal is when geno gets attacked by error on the save screen. when geno gives up we get error. although i do not beleive that he will turn into error because he becomes error by giving up on the save screen and falling into the anti void.

I greatly recommend that you watch underplayer. Anyways- 9:49 No, they remember everything and keep the memories afterwards once they see their faces. They don’t forget when they leave. This was why killer sans was already completely caught up to speed when he met X!chara as he remembered everything the main sans went through.

Please watch the comics Handplates, Insomnia and Aftertale, they are some of the best comics from the fandom I've ever read! The first, Handplates, is a story based on a “what if” scenario, that is, if WD Gaster had created Sans and Papyrus in his laboratory and they were his experiments. The story unfolds and shows how the brothers grow up and get to know each other more as “monsters” and how they will survive the experiments of W.D Gaster who is still very motivated for his experiment to work so that the monsters are free from the underground. In my opinion, this story is GREAT in character development, and has some MINDBLOWING moments, like, the only example I have to compare is X-Tale in relation to Underverse, the mindblowing moments of “Wow, so that’s how this character came to be like that!”, Handplates is like that with the story of Undertale. The story of Handplates follows that of normal Undertale but with this difference in the origin story of Sans, Papyrus and W.D Gaster. The Handplates dub videos covered a good part of the story, but there is the rest of the story that is still undubbed, so you can continue reading on the artist “zarla-s” tumblr. Now, let's move on to Insomnia, the story of this comic takes place after a pacifist timeline of the normal Undertale, so the monsters live on the surface and are still adapting to the new reality. The story follows Sans who has recently been having strange dreams about his past with someone named W.D Gaster, but he doesn't remember any of it and doesn't even know who W.D Gaster is (Due to W.D Gaster being erased from reality). The story will continue with Sans investigating and trying to unravel the subliminal messages of his dreams and why his magic was also coincidentally changing, this comic is veryyyy good for people who love to theorize and analyze behaviors and things of the mind, both in the enigmas it has in story but also because this story really touches on real issues of insomnia and symptoms, how it can affect a person's life. The only problem is that this comic only had 1 single dub video that was made a long time ago and only really covers the beginning of the story, but this is such a good story that I would recommend following it on the artist “wily-art”'s tumblr, it's so worth it! Now for Aftertale, I don't need to explain much because you already know a lot of what it's about, but basically it's Geno's origin story and how he got the ending we saw in Underverse! It's a powerful story that made me and my cousin who doesn't even know Undertale cry like babies, very impactful and unforgettable, I keep it with great affection in my heart and I hope you have the same experience! There's an entire movie with the entire comic collection from start to finish on KZbin, so you can check it out!

So the whole AU AT situation can be kind of confusing if it's not explained. Alternate Universes are the main way to create an alternate story to Undertale. A world where fundamental features are changed. New characters added, old characters removed, different people filling roles, new locations, so on. Inside of each universe are a collection of Alternate Timelines. Worlds where everything is the same, but big decisions change the course of the story. Let's look at some examples: An Alternate Universe, Underswap. A place where every character is swapped with their counterpart. Sans becomes the aspiring royal guard while Papyrus fills the role of Judge. Asgore is the guardian of the Ruins while Toriel remains queen. Fundamental features are changed. An Alternate Timeline, Aftertale. A place where the very same locations and characters exist as Undertale, but big decisions (Geno hiding in the void and manipulating the timeline from outside) change the story. There's a lot more to that story, I know, but that's not the point. No features were altered, just choices, so it's an Alternate Timeline. Edit: Had Alternate Universe for both examples lmao. Myb

And now you are one of us. If you want some other stuff about this fandom to check i recomend interlopers wich is a project made by multiple collab of creator to be an animation made by more artist. Both the creator of glichtale and underverse where part of it. Its kinda underrated because its a crossover with another game wich i dont think people know much about so they werent much interested in it. For other stuff i recomend the movie the thought and underplayer. You could also check out aftertale. If you want to not do something long or a serie i recomend fatal error vs error by revolver to dive into the fight animation of the au.

Since you have already catched up with the series' progression, i think you should try and check out Interlopers series (it starts off as an Undertale x LISA crossover, then it basically turned into Underverse season 1 afterward, but it did more than limiting itself in the Undertale universe (sorta)). It's a MAP (multi-animator project iirc) like Descended Scientist and Glitchtale: The Last Hope and it's really enjoyable in my opinion. NOTE: It contains a decent amount of gores by the way Well, i will stop at this part since i don't want to spoil about it too much, hope you will watch the series in the future :)

Hey Airier, not to bother you but since you asked this is a reminder that you should check out Undertale: Inverted fate since your up to date with Underverse. and for a quick rehash: Inverted Fate is probably one of the best AU's you will ever see, it's also near completion and might finish by the time you get to checking it out, and it revolves around a twisted universe where during a true pacifist route, Asriel wins, however his powers go AWOL and the universes gets reset again... with everything inverted. like Underswap but wauy more complex! It's great, and while it is a bit of a read, as well as you would have to find it on it's own website, but there are some later sections on KZbin that are dubbed, and it's worth the hassle, I promise!

My own theory on what Fatal's deal is, is that he somehow someway found out about the overwrite button and perhaps is pursuing it in a attempt to finally get his papyrus back. Which for all we know could very much be possible if I understand it correctly.

Fatal Error's branch happened before the branch that Geno's Happy ending happened. The point in which Cross met Geno, Geno finally was able to get out of the save screen. As far as I can tell, the three branches are Fatal Error and Error happens while he is still in the Save screen and the last one is he gets out of the save screen. You should probably look into the Aftertale comic which I believe there is a actual dub out there for it somewhere if you want to see the happy ending version.

Now after finishing the latest episode of Underverse I recommend you to give a try for Toby Fox's new game which released in 2018 "Deltarune" - Undertale's parallel story. Unlike Undertale, Deltarune is on a long way to be finished, so far it has only 2 chapters, but the plus is that these both are free. I just think at this point you know too many Undertale spoilers to play it, but it looks like nobody told you about Deltarune at all.

theory: fatal error doesnt exactly have a real code, the only thing keeping him in existance is the fact he wasnt supposed to even when he was geno his code is a scramble of everything he knows and since gaster was never really part of undertale, he projects as a seperate entity from his mind now, since fatal technically doesnt exist this explains why he can see code, hes not a part of it so theres nothing stopping him from doing so. now for the main point of all of this fatal has a dramatic impact from since the leak in the intro of season 2 to his actual appearance and jakei wants US to know that he WILL be back, xgasters worst nightmare was summed up literally just to be fatal error without actually saying it a dirty bug, an anomaly that shouldnt exist something SO IMPERFECT and he cant do anything about it, fatal is seperate from the universe and therefore the only thing that will survive its collapse

Maybe check out inverted fate ? Its an interisting au its basically undertale but characters swap roles but no personalities so underswap but characters have their original personalities which well causes the underground to change a lot... and well i dont know how to explain much more withougth saying spoilers... well its a web comic it has some videos but you will have to check the website ( i wont type it because youtube will erase my comment) just search inverted fate chapters and it should appear... the beggining well it isnt much but it begins to get really interesting in waterfall and beyond, dont worry the website has background music it also has secrets and well if you want to see it you have to see every single video and the comic. Oh also this Frisk has a personality and well it follows the narrator chara theory ( i think you can figure out what it is by the name)

If you're still interested in undertale, there is a sequel called deltarune with some good animations. I'd recommend SNOWGRAVE by Aristicamente. It might be confusing without any prior knowledge, but it's a great animation none the less.

If you need a fix for Underverse while waiting, there are some dubs of certain sections this episode and the last that are really good from Mr Amazing VA and tehrogue, including the fight against Fatal. Ilay Bolter also has been doing a dub for Underverse and I think he's almost done with season 1.
