I’m 31 now but in a very similar boat, besides the jungle portion. I would watch TWW when I was deployed overseas in the military. We would come back from missions and other guys would watch movie series and I was watching this and making plans for projects when I made it home, it really helped bring me up in some rough times overseas. People like Marc and a few other KZbin woodworking OG’s such as Jay Bates have taught me everything I know. More than I could ever thank them for.

This might be your best video ever. After nearly 50 years as a fine woodworker, I found most family requests are for some sort of cabinetry. For built-ins, I switch my thinking from dealing with inside dimensions to outside dimensions. Same as you did. Looks great. I have a large 8 door, 4 drawer buffet/hutch in the dining room. There is one slightly mis-matched grain pattern door on the hutch. Eye-level, of course. It is made from figured cherry. Everyone who sees the buffet says it's beautiful, but my eyes are drawn to the odd door. The song from the Muppets, "One of these things is not like the other", plays in my head. Ugh. Thanks.

Loved your honesty about working out of your comfort zone. You don't see a lot of woodworking videos where they show making mistakes. This may seem ridiculously small, but a tip I picked up from this video is putting painter's tape first where you are brad nailing. I have never seen that elsewhere, & I'm not sure I've ever done it. I know never with a brad nailer; maybe with a hammer & brads when I was building picture frames. I forget, quite honestly. But watching you do it & then put the filler in the hole over the nail makes so much sense! So thank you for that. I love watching your videos, both for the instruction/tips & the humor. I haven't been "semi-seriously" woodworking for long. My first "major" project was probably building a large Victorian dollhouse when I was in high school in the early 1990s, though I never ended up finishing that. I probably got discouraged with lack of progress - or more likely out-and-out regress on that one. But I've done a few relatively simple things - a few bookcases, etc. - here & there over the years, & have gotten more serious about amping up my game in the past year or so. Something to keep me out of the pool hall, if nothing else. LOL Thank you for sharing your content. I'm still making my way through your sideboard series. Hope you have a wonderful day!

Only discovered your channel a year or so ago... Love it! Here's a scribing tip. When free handing your scribe pieces on the bandsaw (or jigsaw), set a slight angle on the table to make the edge that will sit against the wall sort of a slight "knife edge". This keeps bumps in the texture or other imperfections behind that front surface of the face frame from making a gap between your scribe cut and the wall. It also makes finesse sanding much easier since you're not having to sand the entire 3/4" thickness down.

When installing your hinge plates, if you know the distances from the top of the cabinet. Just install the top plate, pop the door with euro hinge into place. Then you can easily mount the remaining plates in place. It makes installing the doors an easy one person job. Super time saving, Plus they are euro hinges, so super adjustable. This was the production method used in the shop i worked for.
