According to Nicolas Cage himself, The Janitor did have dialogue, but it was so sparse that he and the director agreed to have him be completely mute. Cage thought it would be a fun acting challenge to see how well he could communicate using only body language and facial expressions. And yeah, he did this movie and a number of others in an effort to avoid filing for bankruptcy. This movie was very dumb, but it's what I call fun dumb. I can only imagine what the behind the scenes was like.

This movie knew exactly what it was and Cage delivered. Doom guy cleans up Freddy Fazbear's permanently. Other people pointed out that the entire movie is literally themed around him being almost like the silent fps protagonist that just does shit and moves on. To the point the playing pinball on break is a between levels mini game and the cans of punch are a health pack/power up.

The FNAF movie's, as of writing this, has a finalized script & has animatronic models being worked on. Given how Blumhouses', the studio behind the movie, history with movie making, it's possible that it'll release next year. Hopefully we'll at least get a teaser trailer soon. Also; while FNAF wasn't the first to come up with the idea of killer animatronics (people have been making Chuck E. Cheese creepypastas prior to FNAF), it certainly was the first to make it popular.

I can't recommend enough the Spectacular Spider-Man series which is the best and most accurate interpretation of Spider-Man outside the comics and I guarantee that you will love it. Both the stories and the portrayal of Spider-Man are better than any of the live action movies.

This was one of the many movies Nicholas Cage did *per year* as a way to get out of his crippling debt. I do love the blink and you'll miss it detail of his character's dog tags. Telling you outright that he's a combat veteran. Its been said in the comments, but you GOTTA eventually react to both Spectacular Spiderman and Batman:The Animated Series. Both are masterclass in how they portrayed their respective characters as well as their rogue's gallery

I love this movie. It's very obviously made to be a B-movie on a low budget. It does that extremely well. The fact that Cage is mute is a very unique idea, and it makes him seem like the silent protagonist from so many video games. The story takes a back seat to the action. And it's a fun, somewhat tropey, movie that requires little to no brain work to watch, and has massive rewatchability.

He left out a few key details of some of the moments you questioned. Two most prominent to me are that the tires go out because of a spike strip that is openly displayed on screen, and the girl used the shotgun as a bat against the turtle because he somehow took the shells out at some point (which she discovered when she tried to shoot him).

Believe it or not this isn’t the only FNAF knockoff created. There was this children’s show I used to watch when I was little called the Banana Splits and they turned it into a horror movie in 2019. You only need to see the main cast to understand why they were the perfect targets for desecration just to get onto the FNAF bandwagon.

The idea of the Janitor was that he was a man of his word. He made a commitment to clean the fun-park, maintain employee discipline with keeping clean uniforms, taking breaks as he was told etc. Which is why he doesn't leave and continues to clean the place. It's also treated as a video game. The pinball machine/break room is a place of safety and relaxation, a safezone. The punch soda is the power ups, the duck tape is armor and also makes sense since Cage's character is implied to have military background and they used duck tape in Feild med kits all the time. Each robot is a boss fight until the big final boss Willy. It should also be noted that the animatronics killed a bunch of people around the town and it forced the sheriff and others to make the deal. The sheriff is more scared of fighting the machines and so she is willing to sacrifice a few to avoid a massacre.

The sheriff handcuffed the girl there cause that was their house. if it wasn't clear, the sheriff had raised the girl after finding her hiding after one of the sacrifices. On the green screen, funnily enough, it doesn't look nearly as bad in my copy of the movie. noticeable, but not as bad as shown here. odd that. The box office was that low because it was mostly just on streaming and BO numbers don't include streaming revenue. this was at the height of covid and very few theaters were open. it made enough that there is a sequel in the works. Fun Fact: the director had the idea for the film before FNAF even existed, and had never even heard of FNAF till after the first trailer came out and people started making the comparison. the story was actually based on him visiting an old restaurant that had similar animatronics as entertainment (not chuckee cheese) but saw how run down and creepy they looked and got the idea of them coming to life. Another is that Cage said he'd only do the film if they filmed the script he had been given. he loved it so much he didn't want them to change anything about the story. A bit about this movie NC actually misses, when the girl is explaining how these creepers escaped capture by moving their souls into these animatronics she says they "Transferred their Katra's into the animatronics". its actually a reference to star trek. in the 3rd movie they explained the character spock survived his apparent "death" by moving his "katra" into another character Dr McCoy. Katra being the Vulcan word for soul or eternal living spirit.
