All the time…. I have such a lore focused mind set when it comes to army building so if I like the lore of a sub faction and they use something very specifically it find it soooooo hard to not follow that rule. So glad I’m not alone in this.

I also really like this format for subfactions, Ironbark is my favorite subfaction of my favorite factions. If you're looking for lesser known stories about subfactions, there are some very interesting ones in a Soulbound supplement "Refuges of the Realms" and there is one about the Ironbarks where a Warden King and a Treelord ancient are joint rulers and it describes how their 2 people live together.

Ironically, Dryads in my old Wood Elves force was what I couldn't stand. Didn't run a single unit, was pure Glade Guard, Wardancers and Waywatchers. It was what made me pick up Sylvaneth, the realisation that Tree Revenants are essentially just reincarnated Wood Elves. Couldn't not play Sylvaneth to sprout revenge for my Ladies of the Woods 😁

About the "not liking a unit common in a subfaction" I really like Harvestboon's outlook on life, but they favor bugriders, and I much prefer the full plant look to the half-plant-half-elf look of the revenants. On that aspect, Hearthwood having kurnoth hunters as battleline is much more my speed

The last thing you said there at the end is the reason I play with Order(bought the original stater set so yes I collect chaos to however it’s just straight chaos but I use slaves of darkness. I also collect along with order, let’s say they are more vanguard then dracothian, fyerslayers, sylvaneth, I have a old dragon lord and but only 1 unit of (5) Calderon knights(5), and one unit of sister of thorn. (5). Honestly I only have the fyrslayers for the reason that I knew the sylvenaeth liked them. How did I know that before the rules were written??? I bet the rules in adding factions changes really soon.

My army is completely finished almost everything is painted. I have a death themed board if things get outta hand I bought the age of sigmar mausoleum box set so yeah plus one box starter box set. They are made. I also have the infamous throne of chaos. Non magic except for the sylvaneth therefore I have lured chaos at its finest form to finally end this once and for all. Hehe.

Both army’s are basically the same maybe value at around 3500-4000 points so I have played out the scenario many times it many different outcomes. You can tell we’re I’m going with this I’m the only one with a really army/battle going on!

I am thinking about getting into sylvaneth. I am really loving the tree look, but don't like the elvish part. Maybe with these trees, I can kitbash more dwarvish elements into them.

I enjoy this format, can't wait for more Skaven stuff. Even though you could technically say that the video about opening a portal to the Skaven afterlife could be that too. I mean its Skaven ghost army litterey annilated a city... and the Skaven. (My phone's automatic spelling is shit jesus)

I really like the concept of this faction but man the rules for it are so boring. A real all arounder tough subfaction is a great concept, but they're doing this weird thorns thing instead. Subfaction focus format is great!

Dude I absolutely agree, they need to do a rules rework like they did for grinnin blade in the orruk warclans battletome. I personally think changing it to a ward or maybe give them a unqiue season of war would be a good idea cause both ideas would fit the lore perception of them which is tough trees from Chamon.

I'm starting to like the age of sigmar stuff way more then 40k there's actual books for all factions and as a eldary and imperial knights player these dudes seem amazing! With the big tree models and melee is way cooler then ranged in my opinion and I like life way more then super edgey stuff like hawkshaw and the salamanders so these dudes are extra cool
