When is this OTA update coming to 4.0 ID.7's? VW should really work on update distribution and informing their customers. People that are already owning a 4.0 car, should not have to wait if newly sold vehicles are already running it :S

@@xjmtx nothing funny about it. This is ID7 specific and ID7’s were never released with 3.2. New vehicles are being released on the road today with 5.0. While cars from june have 4.0 and haven’t received updates. This is just bad software distribution and not as promised by dealerships/VW which should be addressed. And no, I’m not gonna wait a few years thanks.

@@Funhaver2 and 3.2 was released last spring, 3.5 during the summer and 3.7 last fall. No car has ever received 3.5 or 3.7 as OTA today - over a year later. Also cars that had 2.x from the factory had to wait over a year for 3.0/3.2. So thus far it has taken a year or more from software seen in new cars to arrive as updates. If updates are relevat to you, do not buy an MEB car.

You can leave the aircon on when you leave the car. It does only work for 30mins or so though.

2023 ID's are hardware limited so they couldn't get the version 4 (still can't) so they will absolutely NOT get the version 5.

Old models are redundant when it comes to VW. The only way I guess is to email VW and make them know how you feel as it will be all cars bought older than three years. The software is analog compared to other cars

That's why some tech enthousiasts (like me) are disappointed. But hey, I should remember: buy the car for what it is now, and not for future promises...

I just got my ID7 tourer yesterday. I must say that the system works very smooth but for an car this price the rear camera is really horrible, it’s still in the big pixel Stone Age 🤨

How is the app on Android? And multiple drivers with their own key can have different settings?

Android has basic climate control (30 min) and charging control. With v5 I think it will be possible to lock/unlock the car, with 4.x it is only shown. Regarding multiple drivers, it is annoyingly not connected to the key fob.

"Keep your eyes on the road". Why do you have to touch a lot on the screen to adjust the A/C. This is worse then texting and driving. Give me buttons for A/C, not a touch screen.

All the driver assist settings are a joke since they all reset each time you drive. I absolutely hate VW's implementation of the EU laws - 3-4 presses to disable speed warning every time you turn on the car (OK > Assist > Speed warning > [Back to home]). On the Renault Scenic there is a button for this, much, much better. Will never buy a VW again unless they fix this. And no, I don't drive like a maniac, but the speed warnings work like c***.
