A Fully Crafted Acasia's Dejection Does All The Work For You

Acasia's Dejection is statistically the best legendary trace in the game. It has competition as a Solar Trace rifle, but I think Acasia's clears. Difficult because it's from the raid and some won't be able to. I found it very difficult to craft. Lots of good perks and combinations like target lock, incandescent, and Paracausal, but this one will be to you with how YOU will utilize it.

I absolutely love it as well. I'm a huge Trace Rifle fan, and have been using double special loadouts with them as the add clear weapon for the last few seasons, so even though i was a little disappointed that this thing wasn't stasis or Strand, I was incredibly happy when my second ever roll was Reconstruction/Target Lock. I'm only 1 away from being able to craft it, and when I do, I think I'll have a Recon/Target Lock, and maybe even a Rewind Rounds or Recon/Incandescent. The only thing that has me debating crafting a second one, is the fact my Retraced Path has Enhanced Subsistence/Enhanced Incandescent and I love that thing. The only reason I would make a 2nd Acasias is because I love the whole aesthetic package of the gun more than the Retraced Path

Is it worth using this in trials over a well rolled sidearm?

​@@carryofallcarrieslol5338 A well rolled sidearm will have a ttk of like 0.6 sec, which is the same as this trace with a damage buff active, but at over twice the range. With a base load of 50 shots, you can kill all 3 and one overshield if you're good enough. Don't count on it tho. Two of the damage perks activate when you get a kill with anything other than this weapon, Harmony when you get a matching kill, and Paracausal Affinity when you get a Light kill so either Harmony and Solar, or arc/void... A gun with Osmosis in your kinetic slot can do this, so can abilities. If you trigger one, you can kill the other two in about 20 out of 50 shots. Is your aim good enough? Do you have a pro drummer's rhythm so you don't waste ammo? It's much better than any handgun in the game until you run dry. One advantage is that it's awfully silent from the enemy POV if you're far away.

Around 1:05 No, the numbers should not be flipped. The precision hit multiplier is decreasing, but the base damage is increasing so you still end up with a higher crit damage, so 16.9 will be the new crit damage

I have enhanced Subsistence / enhanced Incandescent on my crafted Retraced Path so I’m gonna roll Rewind / Target Lock on Acasia’s to cover other scenarios. it’s a great model too, the scope is so clean! also, Reconstruction only loads rounds into the magazine when the gun is NOT firing. so the gun can refill when it’s stowed or pulled out, just not while firing.

been waiting for this one, got lucky with my first drop having keep away and paracausal. fell in love with it in PvP, beaming people from pulse rifle ranges feels so good. Definitely my recommend if you want a pvp roll

For PvP I've actually got some good mileage out of High-Impact Reserves, it's hard mathematically to look at how much it's doing as you spawn with 50 rounds so it starts with the damage buff active and increasing with every shot. What I do know for sure is that the optimal ttk with a post-mid patch trace is 0.73s and requires 12 crits against 9/10 resil. With HIR it changes that requirement to 10 crits and 2 body for the optimal ttk against max resil guardians. I personally think this change in crit:body ratio for optimal ttk justifies the use of HIR. (More maths below) HIR also guarantees the kill against 8 or less resil guardians in 9 crits and 3 body. After the buff to precision damage in the mid-season patch by 0.1, in combination with HIR, this allows it to kill in 11 crits vs 6 or less resil for a 0.67s ttk. Can I say for sure this is the best pvp perk in the fourth column? Of course I can't, i just value perks that help you get the first kill, not the subsequent kill.

Just to clarify on the 16.8 vs 16.9 confusion at the 1:10 mark: The values Bungie listed are correct despite the easily misunderstood wordage. The original base damage of 12 multiplied by the original crit multiplier of 1.4 is indeed 16.8 and the new damage of 12.5 multiplied by the new crit multiplier of 1.35 is 16.875. so despite the crit multiplier going down, the crit damage is increased after the change.

I always used to run Aeger's Scepter + Catty for some plan B boss damage. This now does that for me! Thought obviously not as much, but with target lock and reconstruction/rewind rounds I'm finding good supplemental damage on bosses. Love this thing. Great in PvP too.

So I think you are missing a key point about the crafted enhanced HiR version of this weapon in PvP. The enhanced version makes it so that you get the damage at 57.85% of your mag. Since you have 97 regularly and spawn with 50 rounds, you are under this threshold. Because of this you start off killing 5 RES and lower with a .67 TTK Get one kill then this extends to 6 RES. This goes until 8 RES per kill or 11ish ammo.

The numbers for Crit damage are NOT flipped. You need to use the new Crit multiplier for the new body shot damage. New/new vs old/old. A buff to the body shot damage and nerf to Crit multiplier still makes it higher, to keep the same sort of headshot performance on the high end, but make it more forgiving

Incandescent with well and the fragment that causes ignitions on solar super kill and the one that applies scorch stacks with ignitions. Kill one add and apply scorch to nearby enemies if they don’t die from the first ignition they probably will from the chain of ignitions that would follow

I have a fully crafted Retrace Path, other than target lock on this gun I fail to find much need in crafting this weapon. Bungie should have included lead from gold on the third column to actually make this gun an improvement upon RP.

Rewind incandescent really seems like the play for what it gives, after the weapon buffs if traces and double special still stand at the top I think this is the play Retraced path should probably be used for demo now since thats the only trace that can do it

Field prep + frenzy/paracausal is great for double special builds. It does double damage on my titan (frenzy+path of burning steps+radiant+solar surge mod and solar surge at base in some activities on curtain weeks). That a hell of a damage there.

Reconstruction+incandescentis it for me, because arguably it works to freaking good for what I want from a trace. I can use it to run double special for when I play warlock in a raid, quick burst from the trace get a couple kills which proc incandescent, grab orbs to proc solar boost, use abilities to ad clear if needed, quick burst from trace again, repeat. Never have to reload as long as i manage my abilities well.

With the new adept changes for ron weapons the adept variant can land 100 on stability, recoil direction, and range. Moreover, it also has the default 100 AA, making it possible to land 100s on four stats. With nearly 40m effective range and cranked out stability i find it really funny to use

With Rewind Rounds, assuming you hit all shots and have a 104 mag, you can get 149 total bonus shots, for a total of 253 without reloading (minimum is 101 bonus for 205 total, so you'll get somewhere in that range, probably 225-230)- and that's with REGULAR Rewind Rounds... and Enhanced says it reloads MORE than that!

Yeah, it's redundant to get incandescent on Acasia's Dejection if you have Retraced path with Incandescent/Subsistence. It's not that much better so I build it for single target damage.

I went with Rewind + Target Lock on mine for now. I already have a Subsistence + Incandescent Retraced Path so I really didn't think I needed another Incan trace. The one thing I haven't loved about traces yet is their single target damage against majors and minibosses, I feel like I'm wasting most of my ammo on them. So that's the idea for Target Lock, not for actual boss DPS. Still haven't used it enough to see if I like it yet because of how strong void and strand weapons are from the artifact though.

That's what I crafted. It's a better Retraced Path with Substistance/Incandescent which had been my goto primairy(I know it's a special but come on, double special with a trace is amazing) for 2 seasons now and it's been replaced this since I got that roll in my day 1 clear and then enhanced when I crafted it this week finally. Now if we could only get a better void trace with Volitile Flow and Repulser Brace(or rewind/subsistance/recom) which would have been amazing with this season's artifact mods.

I can't wait to craft this thing and then have a solar focused season. I mean this season is kinda solar focused but it's really about void right now. Which is why my hollow denial has gained like 10k kills in the past month lol. My go to load out has been conditional finality, hollow denial, and commemoration. Sometimes riptide or a blinding Gl, wavesplitter, commemoration. But I am loving using trace rifles finally. And conditional finality is just an awesome weapon. It's not amazing at anything but it does everything. PvP or PvE it just works. I hope it gets a catalyst or something to make it even better. It's nice having a raid exotic that is getting lots of use. Anyways as for trace rifles in PvP I think they are finally at that point where they are good but not amazing but not weird to use either. I still prefer my Lodbrok-c with kill clip or target lock. Seriously not enough people are using this auto it's stupid good. But I'm happy with where trace rifles are.

The crit damage numbers aren't flipped. It's going from 12×1.4=16.8 to 12.5×1.35=16.9 If they didn't scale down the multiplier, it would become 12.5×1.4=17.5 They're buffing bodyshot damage without boosting crit damage too much.

I recommend crafting Acasia's Dejection as a dmg dealing trace since you can already get retraced path with incandesent anyway so it would be a waste of its potential. Why have 2 trace of the same type with same perks in the vault if you can craft 1 for ad clear and the other for anything else. My personal roll will probably be reconstruction and paracausal affinity.

Rewind rounds works off of hits, and normally the thing that limits that perk is the diminishing returns it provides. I assume the reason you can get so much more ammo off of incandescent rewind is because incandescent works around the ammo limitation & secures more hits than you actually have the ammo capacity to hit directly

rewind + target lock seems the best for boss DPS, because if you hit all rounds its almost as many shots as reconstruction before a reload and more after the first one though im looking more at the auto rifle for that, cause that could be cool if you run out of ammo you could just switch to it

Sorry, Rewind + Target Lock is the play. Hits as much as what a Retrofit Escapade can do in same scenarios after testing. Which means you could completely make Heavy a fast Autoloading rocket or combine with Parasyte solo. Well+ Parasyte + Acasia with RR+ TL made solo Akelos crazy easy.

I think this is what I'm going for. I just got my last red border and I love trace rifles for ad clear, but it's hard to justify using them against the beefier targets. With the combo you mentioned, I feel like it pushes this trace rifle into a category few others can reach and can make it a true ad killing machine, while still leaving you with another special weapon for big DPS

so what i hate is that it severs. but... if the bomb is the final blow it does nothing.. So no tangle etc. If you hit them with it and down them, then you can get a tangle.

if you use sidearms a lot, Mykels is pretty sick. if you’re like me and don’t use sidearms at all, go with the Acasia’s Dejection or Briar’s Contempt. if you don’t have a good First In, Last Out, go for Nessa’s Oblation.

Coming only from the PvE side, I own a Shoot to Loot G.Tricorn Retraced, and with the STL change upcoming, I just have.. no reason to care about this trace unfortunately. Nothing Acasias does, Retraced can do just as well, aside from having an adept mod :
