I remember Naka (livid after losing to the kid on a live stream blitz session) castigating Alireza for playing too much blitz... "he will never be 2700 he plays too much online blitz"... Looks like he listened to Naka, Alireza is now playing much more internationally!

There are examples of strong players winning games with 'split' rooks, the most famous I can think of is Tal-Botvinnik World Championship Game 1.

Amazing game and also I found my new opening as white against the french. This positional approach gives such a clear cut advantage of knight against bishop that I'm surprised I haven't seen this more often. Thank you for sharing the game.

I've been going through your catalog of videos for a couple of weeks and have really been enjoying them. Very entertaining, enlightening and educational. I'm really looking forward to more of your coverage of Grenke.Chess Classic. You did a wonderful job with Carlsen's opening match. Wow, that was a real battle. Cheers!

Beautiful game and analysis. At age 15 I guess Firouzja has not learned it is a waste time calculating obviously suspect moves like Qxd4. Some got it some don't.

Split Rooks ... Now, where did I hear about that before ... ;O) Thanx, Mr. King! Always a pleasure. We will se about a new WC. Carlsen has been showing some scary strength for a long time now, and he may stay on top for a while, but yes: One fine day ...

I wondered this for a minute until I saw that White can allow his Re2 to drop because then he can play Qxd5! (threatens Mate on a8, defends g2, supports the powerful d6 pawn, etc.)

Daniel, why can't black play Rxd6? Pawns pinned and white can't capture the bishop as now the rook is protecting the bishop lol

Qxd5 after taking the rook seems fine as the queen is protecting against the mate and that pawn is a runner

If 1...Rxd6 2.exd6 Rxe2 3.Qxd5 and white is clearly better or winning because of the d6 pawn and also note that the queen is protecting the g2 pawn from any mating threats.

@@wstfrogger1973 The important part is that the Q from d5 protects against black`s only threat, - mate on g2.

Daniel, I like your videos, but one of the things I think they're missing is you pointing out the mistakes of the players. In other words, after 25 moves one side is much better than the other, but u haven't told us at any given moment what move(s) was bad, according to the computer
@BeatPoet67
@BeatPoet67 5 жыл бұрын
Telling us what the computer thinks is pointless. We don't play with computers at our side. You need to see chess with human eyes. If you couldn't see why one side is better without a computer then what difference does that fact make?
@1blueeye
@1blueeye 5 жыл бұрын
Put the game in an engine yourself. You'll see exactly what you're interested in. He does point out blunders, but when he says this is a critical point in the game, if you pay attention the losing side generally plays an inaccurate move which becomes more apparent as the game progresses.
