Radjabov matching Carlsen shouldn't be a surprise considering how strong he was a couple of years back (until he cracked in the Candidates 2012, dropping from an almost 2800 elo rating if I recall correctly). Maybe one day Radjabov will return to his former glory!

Radjabov used to belong to the absolute elite in chess, then something happened to him, probably some personal problem. I feel sorry for him, he could have been a world challenger, to say the least.

I think the wheels came off in a candidates tournament a couple of cycles ago.. it's a bit like Kramnik - he was on tilt ever since he lost to svidler in the last round of the candidates tournament that Carlsen won by also losing in the last round to become the challenger...

@@AlonsoRules yes, but he was n. 4 in the world, then dropped to under 2700, if I remember right. That's not usual, and affected heavily his chess career.

Hello, Mr. King, if I'm not mistaken, that opening is the Italian Game, indeed, but not the Giuoco Piano variation, but the Two Knights defence, apparently mixed with the Hungarian Defence, where Black moves his dark square bishop to e7 instead of c5. Is that correct?
