Mormon toaster here, Taylor is talking about “trek” which isn’t really a sacred or deeply important aspect of the church itself it’s kinda like a educational summer camp event that the teenagers do every few years if they want. It’s to learn about the churches pioneer history. Claudia is talking about when young adult members of the church decide to ‘serve a mission’ - they sign up and get assigned a place in the world to teach about Christ for 18 months-24 months. Trek is kinda just a fun cultural thing while missionary work is more of an important and purposeful thing within our faith.

Claudia is talking about serving mission where you get a letter that calls you to essentially anywhere in the world and you proselytize and you can only call home once a week (when I went, we could only call twice a year and email once a week) it’s awesome but v rough lol Taylor is talking about trek where you wear pioneer garb and go in the middle of nowhere and walk miles to reenact the Mormon pioneers 😂

Similar to traveling to Mecca for Muslims. Claudia is talking about a mission which is also optional and you share your beliefs to people across the world.

It's not about the breed it's about the pet store aspect.......... also you don't buy them there to stop demand from being created. Lots of rescues work specifically with these puppy mills to take unwanted dogs.

Omg loveloveloveeee Taylor on the Toast, but you guys it’s so wrong thinking that purchasing dogs is somehow helping the overpopulation issue… These places are breeding the dogs ending up in these shelters because people don’t do their research before buying an animal and just blindly go into somewhere thinking it’s something they want and those same bred dogs end up in the shelter. PETA is an aggressive organization, I agree, but it’s for a reason because somebody has to be to get people to care and wake us up into changing how we think about owning animals. You can’t truly say you’re “dog lover” or “dog person” if you’re still buying dogs from a person who is exploiting them for their own profit. These mama dogs don’t want to be pregnant over and over again. They want to live their lives a happy and free, yet it’s humans that are putting them through the uncomfort of having babies over and over for their own wallets. It’s simple enough to just say go walk into a shelter and then tell me how “ethical” or “reputable” your breeder is. If you’re seeing all these dogs sitting in these kennels (or wherever they are as lord live homeless in rural communities due to lack of spay and neuter accessibility) and waiting just for one person to come and see the value in them, I don’t believe we’d be still having this issue. And I challenge the toast (even though the girlies didn’t rescue) to start at least thinking about why people are pushing this so hard instead of tearing them down. Love you girlies and here for a constructive conversation about this always! 😊🤍
