I was given free roam as a kid too. As long as I didn't trespass, break anything, or cause problems... then be home for dinner and all was good. Another problem today is the modern adults. As a kid, I could hop on a bike with my friends with guns on our backs to go shoot. The adults back then would see us and say, "Be safe kids" and smile. Today, the adults would call the cops on kids doing that. Each generation changes. Some more then others depending on the area, people, times, and situation. We each have our own problems and things we find acceptable. Just don't forget we are ALL people and should act accordingly.

I'm Gen X, and I don't remember being aware of the Cold War. That was more my parents. I didn't see the Challenger explosion, the teachers watched in their lounge and came back and told us, and then we prayed.

Gen Z was just as unsupervised, things just changed you know? i never got to go out into the woods and do dumb shit, my parents mostly kept me in the house, i couldn't go farther than 2 blocks in every direction until I was 12. but the internet is a funny thing for our generation porn and liveleak came real quick into our lives some more than others of course, but that's what shaped us. we also grew up into the culture war seeing a lot of it, the bullshit, the fights all of it. it's interesting what each generation grows up and sees. but hey i'm 06 so i might have a different perspective than others in my generation. things changed quick the last 18 or so years. but hey a great rant you've made

Things will be VERY different. AI and robotics will replace a lot of jobs. Plumbing and electricians will likely not be first on that list so people graduating today would be wise to take up a trade

i think todays kids have way too much infomation and cannot process it all..whereas we didn't have so much info so we spent our time "growing up" ...and we were also taught that we reap what we sow, nowadays, kids learn the victim and blame game is much easier than being self sufficient. different times, do i wanna grow up now as a kids or even teen or even in college? heck no.

Not everyone got to go have a drug orgy at Woodstock, many were drafted and getting shot full of holes for a war they didn’t ask for. They also had to raise families during one of the biggest recessions in the history of our nation. They didn’t have it easier than us.
