I totally agree on modifying those the cockpit drain setup. By connecting each drain to it's own exit hole you maximised the draining flow/capacity and you removed the clogging point (T-piece) Good modification!👍
@williamstreet43042 жыл бұрын
And one more benefit of the modification is redundancy. If one has a problem that requires closing the thru-hull, the other can still function. Redundancy is a friend.
@braithmiller2 жыл бұрын

I thought about trading my Harley for a small Schooner. But, I'm 67 and living on Social Security. And I don't know the first thing about sailing. As much as I love the beach, and the vastness and mystery of the ocean, I don't know if I could do it. You are a special kind of person. Your family as well. What an adventure you are having... It must feel amazing, despite the repairs, etc. You deserve all the praise you get. Thanks for allowing us to see what you see.

25:20 : you mention trying to drink some water, but that will help little if you keep losing electrolytes though sweating without replenishing them. For years I have been using 1:1 of fruit juice and water, adding 3 spoons of Isostar Hydrate Powder per liter. Just use a soda bottle and shake thoroughly. A few swigs of that will have you up and running again within 10 minutes. These Isostar containers (400 grams content) have the huge advantage of screwing shut air and water tight, ideal for humid conditions. They also make for very handy containers afterwards for storing.

I believe a weeping water pump indicates that the pump is failing (they generally have a "weep" hole that should stay dry until the pump gets old).
