This came at exactly the right time for me! When I was 9, I had cancer and, once I fully recovered, I decided I wanted to become a pediatric oncologist (children's cancer doctor) so that I could help other kids like me. This became my biggest dream in life and, years later, I started studying medicine in Belgium (leaving my family behind in the US). A week ago, I got the news that I couldn't continue to study medicine because I failed 1 class that I had already retaken once (In Belgian universities, you can only take classes twice before having to stop studying that major). So now, my biggest dream is gone. There are many reasons as to why I failed the class, like the fact that I was pushing a burnout and that I have depression. I've decided to start studying midwifery but I'm still really struggling to accept the loss of my biggest dream. Also having 'lost' 2 years of my life makes it even more difficult. Seeing this video is comforting to know that I'm not alone.

Hey girl just wanted to say I feel for you I've been ripped away from so many precious and sacred connections in vital times of my life as well and it definitely rocks your stability and takes a lot of effort and intention to rebuild after breaks of attachment like this as well as breaks of identity of who we are and what we cherish about ourselves when we feel like we are loosing that thing that sparkle that makes us us, that makes us who we are- that's heartbreaking and earth shattering for a young woman in any context, in any culture, in any situation and although my life has been different than yours I truly identify with your tears, your vulnerability to be honest and raw about how this experience truly affected you, i identify with your pain as well as the beautiful and powerful display of your healing... just wanted to say I'm proud of you and it's amazing to me how out from these complex and painful experiences in life we get to grow into ourselves, and it really looks like you're a gifted young woman with a big heart just trying to grow into her most highest version of herself, her authentic self- and that is a journey I can identify with. You did not fail anything. To me it looks like you are putting in the effort to intentionally self care, process, feel and heal from everything weighing on your heart and mind after an intense experience like that or a break of attachment or a loss of a piece of our identity that's really important to give ourselves space to acknowledge our own state and go from there accordingly. Glad I decided to click on this today, for some reason I thought it would be negative but it was really beautiful and inspiring and made me think of so many times in my younger years where I was shining on the inside and then something came and dimmed my light- and I had to go get it back just like you, just in a different way because everyone is different and so is the solution- that being said do what is right for you and it's a blessing to see a young woman express vulnerability and strength in this way, keep it up!

I have been constantly people pleasing by working so much unpaid overtime. All-nighters back to back where I get a migraine when I go outside because of the sunlight. There's a blanket that lives in the back of my car because I sometimes need to take a nap before commuting home because I'm scared of falling asleep at the wheel. I put in my resignation this week. It's funny. Everyone says how much they're going to miss me and how I do excellent work and no one works harder than me. My boss apparently told HR that my work is great. But he never told me that, after working there for over a year. Your video helps make me feel so secure in that leaving was the right decision. I was giving away so much of my life to someone who just uses me as a machine. I saved up enough to quit and work a minimum wage job to meet my living expenses. It's time to move on.

I’ve wanted to be a performer my whole life. Im stuck between endlessly dreaming about it or daydreaming about it the entire day especially while putting on the best of concerts in my room (embarrassing and sad but oh well lol). I auditioned too and didn’t make it and I guess I’ve figured my dream might never come true the way I want it but that’s okay and that goes for everyone who dreams likewise. At the end of the day I just love music, singing, writing, dancing and even if I’m not good enough to make it past auditions it’s still good enough for me to pursue my passion even as a hobby because it’s what I love. In the future I’d like to release my music and nobody might hear it but I’m at peace with that because I know I’m an artist even if that’s for just myself. Haven’t finished the video yet but I really wanted to tell you and anyone reading to never let the fire go out. Even if you keep it just within your heart and the world never gets to feel its warmth, dream and create and never ever believe that you’re less than anyone because they’ve made it farther than you. Some people get lucky, some things are just meant to happen a certain way but keep going and keep your head up!!!
