Hey Curtis! Listened twice. Thank you for discussing this topic. As we develop a conscious mind uniting Goodness and Truth we reject deception and evil no matter how well-dressed wolves in sheep's clothing present themselves. We are able to walk by the menaces without engaging in their meaningless claims. It is like knowing which loaf of bread was created with pure love versus those loaves contaminated by roaches, unwashed hands, mice visits and hair. This is much like "Get thee behind me, satan." We all stumble many times while in body, but when we can get to the point of recognizing dung from cleanliness we will reject evil because it lies in order to deceive us. We are now wiser because we learned from the multiple times evil smiled in our faces while dragging us into its pretentious displays of affection while in the bowels of hell. It was the excrement pretending to be purity. Nasty, yes, but we learn what is repulsive when hell gains access into us by trickery. We learn who they are and what they want. We learn to close and lock windows and doors that hellish-minded people or spirits will rattle and knock on as long as we are in the body. After a while we will not hear it on the door step, but we keep those windows and doors locked, bolted and for extra protection we surround ourselves with people whose spirit comes from God. This discussion is excellence, and I am so very blessed by the work you and the SF do. Thank you so much for being an instrument for the Lord, our Creator.

Thanks Curtis! This is brilliant and so kind of fits with where I am today. I have a few medical tests I must have done just because they are things best checked as we get older. I’m not worried about the tests but am kind of worried how I might cope with any ‘bad news’ from the results. The way I see it as my friend at Church said ‘wise move getting these tests done and just remember what ever the results God is still there.’ Indeed, they are right and somehow even watching your videos reminds me of that one simple fact. In German the phrase is ‚Gott mit uns‘ (God with us) I know I can and will dwell on that beautiful and simple fact.

Totally agree and have had to do this. Now, I facilitate a form of discussion that has only listening, sharing, affirming or problem solving sharing thoughts, with no back and forth, debating or arguing. In the accounts of Swedenborg's discourse and observations of angelic discourse, they don't argue or cross talk. Each spirit is asked a question or asked to respond to a subject presented, and then the wreath is given to the one closest to the Lord's Wisdom. All of us could benefit from learning angelic discourse, IMO.

Hi guys. My favorite part was when Curtis said 'Heaven comes from loving your neighbour' This is essentially the nitty gritty of it all. If you move your neighbours rubbish bins back behind their gate because you don't want them out on the road is one thing, but if you want to put them behind the gate to do something nice, and your motives are 100% altruistic, then that is literally 'Heaven" on earth. Not waiting for recognition, not expecting reward, not to be noticed, or thought of as 'good,' not to make your neighbour feel bad for not having done it themselves, not to make your neighborhood look better coz you're a big of a snob, not doing it to get a 'reward in heaven,' just doing it because you could and you are happy to do so is the definition of the state of mind called 'heaven' When all things fall away except unconditional love its truly a beautiful thing ❤️

You claimed that the same thought and behaviors that we have here on earth get imprinted on our souls and we carry them with us to the after life, but does that mean we will always have the same problems. Hi Randy -- I like Fanta Sip's answer and will add some more thoughts. Swedenborg talks about how every single thing that we think, feel, or experience is kind of permanently stored in a specific level of our memory. But he points out that most of it is "quiescent" or "hangs down to the sides" unless we need it or actively love it or it would be useful to recall it for some reason. He also points out that once our spirit leaves our body, it leaves behind a boatload of earthly concerns that will no longer plague us. That makes me think of health problems, financial struggles, and various practical things that drive our day-to-day existence. But it's what we truly care about in our very core that makes us who we are in the next life. Swedenborg's descriptions about what happens in "the world of spirits" (that middle place, kind of, between heaven and hell) sound like a process of self-discovery (when we don't have to worry about worldly pressures), learning, enlightenment, and a chance to really figure out who we WANT to be. We'll get clear about how our thoughts and behaviors on earth played into our core values, what motivated them, and whether they still match with our deepest loves and intentions. So YES. We'll get a chance to heal and really understand ourselves, and then our heart will lead us to our spiritual home. That's my current understaning. Does that paint a clearer picture? ~Chara

Thanks for this! I wondered if there is a video about cancer and the body? The woman we are ministering to has a tumor in the lungs. I know lungs have a meaning. I felt like I wanted to speak to the spirit of the tumor and tell it the truth...any thoughts? Is the "spirit of the tumor" any type of thing he ever writes about?

Hi Desiree -- Swedenborg doesn't talk about the spirit of the tumor, to my knowledge. He does say the lungs correspond to truth, wisdom, and faith-type things, paired up with the heart which corresponds to goodness, love, and charity/goodwill type things. *"Adulterers"* seems to be a concept/correspondence rather than a term at the 1700 century. In the time of Swedenborg adulterers was probably a person that was unreliable and vicious, even if he/that person never have been laid and only loosely related to "Married love". A more modern term would be Douchebag.

"Adultery" does indeed have deeper correspondences, like mixing spiritual ideas with self-centered motivations and goals, and also indulging regularly in lewd thoughts, even without physically acting them out. But physical adultery was rampant in 18th-century European upper society! People would get married for economic and political reasons, and then have affairs on the side. So, it's both!

Actually, Ellen, Karin and I (Chara, here) were discussing this very thing today. We DO think that Curtis meant a WORD or a NAME when he said a SOUND -- but I'll have to check with him. Karin and I aren't familiar with the concept of a SOUND for every object, but we may well have missed a passage!

My impression, RD, is that we are carefully tended to by angels when we transition into the spiritual world. But as we sort of "wake up" from that first state with the most loving angels, we come back into a state of mind much like we had in the world. At that point we take a look at our whole life, what we loved and cared about and did and thought, inside and out. Some of that will probably involve the darker leanings of our nature, so that needs to be worked out in one way or another. But I don't think the evil spirits get to have a free-for-all with us! We get to figure out who we TRULY want to be, so if we TRULY want to be good and loving, we will get a chance to become that!

Question... Is the dislocation of Jacob's hip a punishment from God, or a consequence of his behavior? Either way, what was the cause? Why make that part of the lower chakras or inner temples vulnerable or weak?

That scene provides a symbolic picture of what happens at a certain stage of spiritual growth. A summary of the meaning, as best as I can understand it right now, is this: The hollow of the thigh represents a joining of heavenly goodness with earthly goodness. Jacob represents a stage of in which a person is still on an earthly level of development, and is going through temptations (the wrestling). The hollow of the thigh becoming out of joint means at this stage of development, a person is not yet able to join heavenly goodness with earthly goodness. There is still a disconnect. And yet the temptation does bring about some progress, as represented by Jacob's name being changed to Israel.

Hi Curtis and staff,, you said the unholy clump was newly arrived....so those types aren't in the hell zone YET...and they are free to mess with good spirits in the "World of Spirits". ? I was kind of hoping that the world of spirits wouldn't have those types of spirits there. Do Angels keep them away from the spirits whom love God and Jesus while in that world? (Before going on to a matching community?)

Hi Pamela -- Not Curtis here, but Chara, one of the Comment Response staff. Swedenborg says that EVERYONE starts out in the world of spirits, the place where we all get "sorted," so to speak. The task at that point is to pinpoint our true priorities, now that we're separated from worldly concerns and influences -- so it sounds like it's somewhat of a process for most people. But he says that some people move on very quickly to their eternal spiritual home. My impression is that the world of spirits is not a free-for-all and there would be good boundaries and protection, while we sort out good from evil within our own hearts. That said, I'll have to re-watch this episode and see what it says! But the Lord is Love and Mercy Itself, so I imagine safety is key on the other side!

Oh I see, Donna. I'm afraid I'm not sure about this. Each object having a NAME in spiritual language I can wrap my head around. I (Chara) don't know about each object having a SOUND. In the spiritual world, there are no PHYSICAL molecules, so I don't know what to say about frequency. There are definitely various levels and qualities in the spiritual world, all related to goodness and truth. Sorry I don't have a more satisfying answer!
