Yeah thank you, that'll be appreciated. We've seen BTS' vids so many times I can actually watch them on mute and still know what's being said. I don't know if anyone has shared updates with you as of recently about BTS but I hope this will catch you up a bit. In June 2022 BTS released their anthology album called Proof to celebrate 9 years as a group and announced they would be pursuing solo albums instead of group music for the time being, but that they would continue to make other content together like their variety show Run BTS. Soon after that announcement J-Hope released his first solo album called Jack In the Box and also headlined Lollapalooza which is a major music festival in the US. In a bid for South Korea to host the 2030 world expo BTS performed a major concert in Busan, South Korea for free. Soon after the concert was held it was announced that BTS members would be enlisting in the Korean military starting with Jin who is the oldest (reports say he's enlisting December 13th). Military service is mandatory for all able bodied men in South Korea for 18-21 months. The other members will enlist after their own solo activities are completed but according to their company they should reunite in 2025. That means the other 6 members will probably enlist throughout 2023 or early 2024. Technically they can wait until 30 to enlist but I'm thinking they are enlisting earlier than they have to so they can get it done and over with so they can come back as a group sooner. Let me make this clear in case you ever hear anything to the contrary. BTS consider it an honor and a duty to serve their country and they have never demanded special treatment or exemption. Jin released a solo song called The Astronaut last month that he worked on with Coldplay as a goodbye for now present for ARMY before he enlists and he got to perform it in Argentina with Coldplay. RM will be releasing his first solo album called Indigo on December 2nd and Jungkook just released a song for the FIFA world cup soundtrack called Dreamers. BTS is still very much a group and they have no plans on disbanding anytime soon, so lets support them as much as we can in all their future endeavors.

They were also nominated for the Grammy’s again. I’m very curious if they show up. Do they show up with just the members that haven’t left for the military? Do they not show up at all? Do those members in the military get an ok from the government to go? Guess I’ll have to wait 3 months and see. 😩

It took three years to form the group. RM was the start of it and the group was formed around him. There were many trainees until they whittled them down to 6 around RM. That's why there is no "next BTS" which big companies have been desperately trying to recreate. Their chemistry and uniqueness can't be copied successfully. All are driving each other to be perfectionists in whatever they start. All do very successful solo projects and yet stay together. They declared this year they are taking a break from group activities and concentrating on solo works mostly because they need to go through obligatory military service for two years starting from oldest member, Jin (this December) but they also talked to us frankly saying that they've burnt out as a group and they need to explore solo work, grow up and regroup to be able to do this group when they are in their 30s and 40s. This is what they are doing now, dishing out solo work, going into the military and hopefully all regrouping in 2025. 💜💜💜

BTS is the 4th Most Awarded Musician with almost 800 awards now, next to Michael Jackson, Beyonce and Taylor Swift. They're also 5x Grammy Nominees. Yes, somehow more people around the world got interested in South Korea because of BTS. They held a free concert recently in Busan, South Korea to help their country's bid for the World Expo, where an estimated 60k-80k tourists attended and 50m watched the livestream. In their Las Vegas concert, the whole city turned purple and became Borahaegas.

If I've said this once, I'll say it again....never underestimate the meaning of their lyrics....which can be very deep and meaningful. As you know by now, BTS is unllike other Kpop groups as they were given freedoms other groups don't have...including the writing and direction of their songs. Their message is WHY I am ARMY. Once you begin watching their MV's, please check to see if there is an explanation video for the song....usually found on channel DKDKTV where David or Dan, in English, gives the meaning from a Korean perspective. Doing an MV back to back with the explanation is great because we love to see a reactor's reaction to the true meaning of the songs. Also, when this video talked about there being a story woven throughout their music, in which Jin is the main character, they are referring to something called Bangtan Universe. ARMYs can direct you on how to learn about it, but just know that some of their songs contain images/references to the BU. Thank you for taking the time to learn about each of the members...I think if all reactors took the time to 'know' them, they would appreciate BTS so much more. Soon you'll be learning about Korea....society, culture and even the language :) ARMY grandma

@@Kazilla. Yeah, a lot/vast majority don't. It's a relatively rare or new thing to let the idols compose or write their own music. But right from the get go, BTS was already writing/composing their own music/lyrics/bars, and if they weren't already, they were encouraged to let that part of their creativity grow (and to help each other grow as artists and performers).

Hitman Bang had the idea to start the group, he had auditions for rappers to put together a Hip Hop/Rap group, RM was the first one he signed in 2010, and he built the group around RM. some of the rappers left during the trainee period and Hitman Bang had a second audition in 2011, and the project changed to a Hip Hop IDOL group, under the KPOP umbrella. Main dancer and dance leader are two different things. J-Hope and Jimin are both main dancers, which means they are both given the main dance parts in their choreography, and J-Hope being the dance leader, is in charge of making sure the team knows the choreography and they go to him for help, if they need it. Also, he is in charge of their stage formations, and they look to him for guidance. He is highly respected by his team for his role. You are right, BTS are like a family of Brothers. When people say they are breaking up or on Hiatus, that just isn't a thing with them. They want to be together as BTS and they are only apart when it's necessary to be, like for their Military service, or for their solo projects. Those are things they need to do for their own growth, and to meet their obligations to their country. Not because they are breaking up. BTS has said to ARMY's over and over, to trust them and they are going to be BTS for a very long time. Sorry, I just had to rant a little bit. Jin will be the first to enlist on December 13th, and they are all working on their solo projects right now. J-Hope and Jin already did their solo debuts, RM is next on December 2nd, his album is called INDIGO. You might want to check that out.

Initially BTS was supposed to be strictly a hip hop group with rappers with no dancing. I don't think they had a set number in mind for a group at the beginning. RM joined Bighit in 2010 and over time things changed and it was decided BTS would dance so many of the trainees at Bighit left because they didn't want to dance and eventually 7 members were chosen amongst the trainees. Actually aside from Jimin and J-Hope none of the other members had dancing experience. But when you practice something 12-16 hours a day you improve a lot. Jimin was the last member to join Bighit in 2012 and then BTS officially debuted in 2013 so it was a 3 year journey for BTS to come together. Every kpop company has trainees usually around 30 people and the training period can be as short as 1 year or as long as 10 in extreme cases (on average I would say it's 2-5 years). During their training period they will take lessons like dance, rap, singing, acting etc. and they will also all live together. Becoming a trainee doesn't guarantee you will make it into a group to debut and it's very competitive because you can be told to leave at any time. Trainees are found in various ways like going to schools to scout young talent, auditions, or just recruiting people off the street like Jin was.

For BTS evolving, when RM get accepted by bighit in early 2010, their CEO, Bang PD have thoughts will make a hiphop duo for him. So he accept one of RM underground crew member named Iron to be hiphop duo with RM. It says because RM is still too young at that time, so Iron who more older become a leader of their duo. But later, bang PD change his mind, intead making a duo hiphop, he decided to make a hiphop group. So, bighit held an audition called hit it first audition for rapper n producer in 2010, around april or may (because Suga said, he enter their trainee dorm only a part 3 months with RM) hit it first audition is an audition but also a hiphop competition, where the participant rappers will have battle on each round until final round. So many underground rapper signing for this competition/audition, include Suga. But he initially goal is become a producer for bighit, not as the artist. The result of hit it first audition, bighit recruited 5 more peoples winner from the competition to joined hiphop team that he will created. The one who get first place is i11ven, he is also RM underground crew members. Suga get the second place. Then Supreme boi (he also same crew with RM) A-tom and Kidoh. Suga who initially signed the competition only want become a producer, get offered to joined the hiphop group too and he still can be a producer. And bang PD said, they dont need to dance, coz they are a hiphop group. So they just need to rap. And then Suga accept the offering. But in December 2010, Bang PD recruit Jhope as the last members for his hiphop group. Eventho Jhope is not a rapper, but Bang PD like for his dance talent n make him practice his rap with other members (Jhope was bighit first trainee before RM, but he didnt come to Seoul yet. He just come to Seoul after he get recruited to become part of hiphop group that nighit will debut). So, that it being known as BTS first line up or original line up, is consist with 8 rappers and they expected will have debut in mid 2011. But Bang PD have another plan n reason why he recruited Jhope. Apparently he change his mind again, to change the format from hiphop group become idol group and he dont want to waste Jhope talent as a dancer, it would be pity if he didnt shows his talent to the world. If his group change to idol, then they can include dancing in it. And other Bang PD reason, he sees idol group will have a chance to get expand furthermore in the future coz kpop has so many genre, not just stuck with one genre. So he want a versatile group but still hiphop is as the group based n philosophy (to tell the members own story n their thoughts, be authentic n honest for their music. That hiphop spirit that Bang PD love to have for his group). But all members who come from underground have stigma about idol are reluctant to continue and wanna quit if they must be an idol (idol industry indeed have stigma n get looked down by underground artists that being known as free spirit to make their art also to do whatever they wanna do with their life. While idol is being known like a doll or manufacturer product by their company that they get limited for their artists freedom. Idol only sing, dancing and perform whatever the company gave to them. At that time, most of idol didnt involved with their own music, they only do whatever the company told to them. Hence they called as a pretty doll by other artist. And lot of idol is lipsync to make them perfect on stage or to avoid if they missed the note or crack voice when perform (coz idol concept by kpop industry is a perfection, artist who didnt have a flaw. Either their visual, appearance or performance, some company also control their artist privacy life especially when they just debut to avoid making a controversy. Lot of company confiscated their artist cellphone or check their cellphone n banning to dating until their group is stable n become senior, then they can be have more freedom for their private life) Bang PD tried to convince them, that they are still can to make their own music coz that what Bang PD want for his group. That they will just not being an idol, but also mature n versatile artist while keeping the hiphop spirit. To be authentic n honest with their music. But still,, lot of members are not agree n resigning, only RM, suga and Jhope is still stay (Supreme boi resign from the group but then he joined as in house producer for bighit) So their debut get cancelled coz they lose their 5 members n must find for new one. This time, Bang PD searching for for vocalist, dancer n rapper. So he held hit it second audition july 2011. From there, they get several candidates to be a singer for the group (Jin, V and Jungkook is joining on that year with some other trainees to be a candidate for BTS). Finally jimin joining as bighit trainee almost near end 2012 (around August-October). After so many change by change of the candidate, then finally bighit choose a fixed new members for BTS to joining RM, Suga n Jhope. Is Jin, jungkook, V and Jimin. And they finally debuted on June 2013

Thank you for the reaction. As others have said, I’ve watched this many times and it never gets old for me. I don’t listen to most K-pop simply because most are good performers but no one matches the deep lyricism of BTS. They are huge yet humble and they genuinely love music and each other. Have fun exploring their music. They are much better live than their studio version, imho, so checking out live performances would be fun.

You're right, BTS is a movement. Many companies in Korea and even other countries try to replicate BTS with aim to be as big as them if not bigger (including UK-POP by Simon), they studied BTS formula for success and tried to create some groups, but ofc they keep failing. Why? because they come from different angle that's super commercial, while BTS approach is just simply being human and being themselves with big emphaty and the need for growth and that connects and relates with people organically.

Namjoon (RM) was the first to sign up, early in 2010, followed by Suga late in the same year. J-hope, Jin, Jungkook and V signed at various times in 2011. Jimin arrived well into 2012, so he had under a year to train with the others before their debut in June 2013. Initially, the intention was that BTS would be a hip-hop group, so there were other Big Hit trainees who were rappers. Some of those dropped out when the plan changed to being more of an idol group and the vocalists and dancers came in. One or two rappers remained as producers and collaborators, notably Slow Rabbit. Hip-hop is still the foundation of BTS. The three rappers are by far the most prolific writers in the group with around 500 KMCA songwriting and composing credits between them, so far, but that’s not to say the others don’t have a significant impact on the discography. Suga has described their process as being rather like a year-round music camp, where everyone contributes to the direction and content of their output, ideas are shared and either discarded or adopted, worked up and finalised. Their musical ‘father’, Bang Shi Hyuk, and main in-house producer Pdogg are a big part of that. They’ll also work with outside collaborators when they feel they need to. Kpop contracts run for a maximum of 7 years by law and BTS are partway through their second main contract with Big Hit / Hybe (the parent group). The members have all been shareholders in Hybe since it went public a couple of years ago, and as long as Bang Shi Hyuk (Founder and Chairman) remains involved I think they’ll stay with the company. My own feeling is that they will never formally disband as a group, even if they no longer make group albums. They’ve talked in the past of wanting their children to grow up knowing each other, and of still meeting up and singing together even when they can no longer dance. You haven’t yet seen them going flat out in concert, so maybe you should react to the two opening songs, Mic Drop and Run BTS, from their most recent concert in Busan a few weeks ago. It’s a time of change. Over the next two years or so they will each be carrying out their mandatory military enlistment, starting with Jin in the next few weeks, so they won’t be back together fully until sometime in 2025. In the meantime there should be solo albums from most if not all of them and whatever content they’ve already prepped.

So like all the others are doing before they go into the military, he is releasing solo work- his first official album. On riding bikes, RM loves to bike! He posts all the time about his night/day time bike rides. Pretty sure he rides only leisurely though, not long distances like you! He even put out a song called Bicycle on soundcloud for their anniversary last year (typically a member of BTS seems to put out a new song for us for the fun of it on their birthday as a group on June 13th) Your cats are so cute! You said they're Himalayan? So pretty Yea, watching this video every time I get a little misty eyed towards the end where it highlights ARMY and our impact. As much as BTS gives to us, there are glimpses where we get to see that we have also made a real impact on them as well. And how often do we get to feel that way about other artists that we've loved throughout our lives. Enjoying a band's music has never brought me this type of community and lifelong friends like being an ARMY has. Plus the positive/worthwhile/deep/thoughtful music and endless amount of content is a bonus as well! One person at a time we try to spread their message and just hope those who haven't heard of them will be open enough to see what a ray of light BTS is to the world, and in our own lonely worlds as well. I said this in all my previous comments on your videos, but thanks again for being open enough to see what they're about with an open mind! Beside members attended when Jungkook entered highschool and when he is graduated from high school. Members also attended Jungkook graduation on junior high school. Coz he is actually joined in bighit as trainee when he still 13 y/o. But in korean age, it's counted as 15y/o (korean age system have different methods to count peoples age. A newborn baby will counted as 1 y/o immediately, not from 0. I Coz they count the baby age since the baby was inside the womb. And their age will added every new year, not when their birthday month. That why korean people have 1-2 years age different with international age. It depend the month they born. If they born in early year, then they have 1 year difference with international age, if they born at the end of year, then their age will have 2 years differences with international age. Since Jungkook born in September, so it nearly year end. That why his korean age get difference 2 years with international age)

Whoops 🤭 I forgot my Army introduction. I'm a 22 year old girl from S.sudan in Africa. Born in Kenya now staying in Rwanda. First saw BTS in 2016 and been a fan ever since. My first BTS song was "NOT TODAY" and let me just say I lost my mind the first time i watched and heard that song. I didn't understand how these seven boys could be that good. My bias is Park Jimin, although at this point every single one of them make me question my descision almost everyday.🤭 But Jimin is still my Bias. I can not tell you my favourite BTS song coz honestly, my brain cells are having the hardest time of their lives trying to figure that out too. 💜Borahae💜 Welcome to the family.😉

Just wanted to comment as I watch - kpop is a very different system than we're used to here in the West. They sign and train people from young ages with the intent of making kpop groups once they weed out the best of the best. The Rise of BANGTAN docuseries here on KZbin goes very in-depth into what kpop is and how it works. I highly recommend the series (it's Veeeery long but extremely well done and fan-made) if you're interested in kpop in general and if you want to see the come up for BTS in their own words. It's the closest us new ARMY can get to having been with BTS from the beginning. 💜

KPop is so many genres. BTS is so talented. I’m 68 yr and love rap now because of BTS. They lifted me up from depression during the pandemic. You will hear this a lot. Please listen on you tube to RM’s “Joke”, Agust D (Suga) “Daewchita” and Agust D mv, JHope’s “More” and “Burn”, check out Outre Tear at Wembly live. It’s an emotional ride with the rap line which is RM, Suga and JHope. It’s a song about a time when they were thinking about breaking up the group after many years together. They each have great personalities and work so hard. I admire them. It’s been two years and I’m barely down the rabbit hole. Their catalog of music is huge. They have done a lot of reality shows of their own which shows them eating together, sleeping and having fun. They’re the real deal. There’s a reason why Army is huge and loyal. 💜

yes you are right Armys is a movement. they are more than artists they can help change the world for the better. they have already helped me and countless of other people. they are relatable and hard working and the sweetest people on earth. they are always honest with us no matter if it´s good or bad. i think that´s why we are so protective because people judge them without knowing who they are.

8:13 no specific idea but bang pd (their ceo one could say) knew seeing rm for the first time that rm had to debut in one way or another, the group idea came a bit later but it was always kind of centered around rm even if there is no main guy in bts in the western sense, first it was supposed to be a hip hop group without dancing or singing, only rapping, then things changed (all rappers were already trainees then, many trainees left when the change happened, one named supreme boi became a producer at the company and is that to this day) and they also started looking for dancers and singers, overall around 30 boys trained to be in bts between 2010 and 2012, in dorm lived most around nine at the same time, rm was signed right away when he auditioned for the company, suga participated in first hit it auditions, won second place and was signed, j-hope auditioned, jin was street casted, jungkook auditioned for super star k and was offered an audition because of that, v auditioned during second hit it auditions and was signed after the first round, jimin auditioned encouraged by his dance teacher

Thanks for the reaction again!! I'm sure you already have a long list of recommendations but one song I could really recommend would be "Born Singer" (remix of J Cole's Born sinner). It's a bit a continuation of that video, they wrote it back in 2013 a few days after debut and they talk about their approach to music, sincerity towards the art and themselves. They finally officially released it earlier this year after getting J Cole's approval!

Discovering BTS for the first time is something I would to experience once again. They truly love ARMY and show it so many different ways. I personally love how freaking talented they are. They are top performers, songwriters, rappers and singers. And the best thing about their music is that you can find many different genres, there's something for everybody.

RM can’t drive (he is the only member who never got a license, his dad told him not to drive they were worried how clumsy he is) so he bikes everywhere and even wrote a song “Bicycle”. BTS rappers are some of the best around.

Just wanted to add: Main Dancer and Dance Leader technically aren't the same thing. Main Dancer is like the title or position the company designated him as based on his skill in dancing. He's one of the best dancers in BTS (though nowadays they are all at a professional level), therefore he's a "main dancer" (as opposed to being a sub-vocalist). Dance Leader refers more to the fact that he leads the group in a lot of the performance aspects. RM is the overall leader but even he typically defers to J-Hope when it comes to dance, making J-Hope the Dance Leader.

Just finished the video, just wanna say I think you’ll do really well as a reactor in general (ofc I hope for more bts content, I really do think you’ll like them & their music), but you’re really likeable, has a good setup and appear genuine and also have interesting things to say (and has cute pets😂). Best of luck on KZbin! I look forward to seeing more of your videos. If you like dancing you’re in for a treat, they have so many dance practice videos uploaded on top of their regular performances. It’s true, they’re really relatable, likeable ppl. It really helps that they’ve always had a hand in their music, so if you go through their music chronologically you can see their ideas evolve as they grow up. One thing about BTS performance is their execution is excellent, be it on the songwriting or live performance. They talked about basically life in bts is like being in a music camp, they constant try to write music and send to their in-house ppl. Some of them are better at it and/or more productive than others, Suga’s generally acknowledged to be the fastest songwriter while RM has the most credits. The CD3 on their anthology album proof are all demos and unreleased songs, some of them are actually really good and quite a pity that they almost never saw the light of day. The music industry is pretty messed up in Korea too, just in different ways.

Something definitely to look into is the Rise of Bangtan. It goes in chapters and is professionally edited by an ARMY Aneesa. She started it during the pandemic. It basically is an incredible deep dive into BTS's journey from predebut to about a year or two ago( she is still working on the last couple of chapters). It's a chronological timeline that goes into their experience, their music and its a great way to see how they started and who they are as people as well. It also goes into the Korean culture and the kpop industry too. Something highly recommended to look into if ur jnterested.

Main dancer and dance leader are different. 'Main dancer' is a position for the strongest dancers while 'dance leader' helps guide the other members with coreo like what Hobi (j-hope) does J-hope can memorize a dance in 30min which would take another person 3 days to a week to perfect

You can react to what are suggested to you by army but if you are bored, you can react to their award shows in MMA ( melon, music award) 2018 to 2020. My favourite performance of them was in 2019 before the epidemic. The company put in a lot of money and BTS the time and efforts into their production. They prepared beforehand for about three to four months in advance just for this award show. If there is any songs you like you can then check out their MV.

Random comments - thanks for your continuing interest in BTS! 68 year old ARMY here. Think the award count is now up to over 850. Hitman Bang originally thought of the group as a hip hop group. You should definitely check out J-Hope's solo performance at Lollapalooza - it was amazing! Love your Himalayan cats! Jungkook just performed at the opening of the FIFA World Cup - there is also an excellent MV. Also, check out his GCF (Golden Closet Films) - I particularly love the Helsinki one. Total discography is 350 songs+. Hope you continue to react to BTS - you seem to get it!

It seems like you like Rap, from looking at your other reactions, so you might listen to Mic Drop next which is a heavy rap song with vocals and if you want pure rap, then try Outro: Tear and Ugh. Most of Agust D's solo projects are rap and many of RM's are, too. J-Hope just dropped a new album, which he performed live this year at Chicago's Lallapaloosa, and for which there are lots of videos online.

Hi fellow Canadian, welcome to Bangtan Sonyeondan world. You mentioned loving different genres of music, this is one of BTS Forte to hit you with so much variety from a Hip-hop anthem like HIP-HOP PHILE to a delicate dreamy love song SERENDIPITY to dramatic truth telling OUTRO TEAR and stadium riser FIRE. There is no way you won't find something to like. Plus there is so much content on them like docu Rise of Bangtan, American hustle life, Bangtan Bomb, Bon Voyage, BTS in the soop and the beloved variety show RUN plus gazillion funny compilation of anything BTS related. The guys will be back from the military before you ran out of content to watch. Last thing, Armies are fantastic but there's a fringe of them that are more like fanatics. They made BTS into a Cult where you better watch what you say or they'll come for you. There is also the solo stans who only like one member and who will complain to you for not talking enough about their beloved member just don't mind the lunatics. After a while listening to their music and watching content, they become like friends even family to us, we get proud when they achieve something, we're excited to see them on variety and award shows, you're basically fell into the hole, the rabbit 🐇 hole 🕳.
