@@AndrewWoodford This labmaniacs featured video about Inalla reanimator from 2017 (i think) ist where it all began for me. Where i was first confronted with the idea of "EDH doesn't have to be this casual format of 8 mana splashy spells", there is another super interesting way to play it. At that point their channel had already hours of gameplay to enjoy, before most of today's big channels even got started. A bit sad that they don't produce gameplay anymore :(

@@VeznansDeadbeatDad Agreed, you can't please some people. Can't afford this deck, that's fine, don't build it or proxy it. Don't think a budget build is strong enough, try and come up with upgrades or again, just don't build it. Not every deck is for everyone.

People are mentally uncapable of making their own touches to a deck. They need others to build the deck for them. So, it makes sense that they are too pitiful to be happy with someone else's ideals. I saw the thumbnail, seeing Najeela for the first time. From there, I already had ideas brewing. I think these upset people need to learn to use Scryfall or Gatherer advanced search.

@@bantcm There are budget versions of this deck tho. Won't be equally strong. But if you build it on a budget I guess it will only combat others on a budget. But you are right ben not every deck is for everyone. I have stopped playing this one. But it was fun and really good.

I'm glad to see a channel that doesn't traditionally talk about cEDH seek to promote it. This is the kind of thing we need in order to get more people into high-power commander and to normalize it, since it's still so poorly understood by a lot of players. I find it especially interesting that you didn't put any prices on screen during the video. This is good though, since what matters to cEDH players is not how much money you have, but how good of a player you are and that you're interested in playing with power. Really, we couldn't care less if your Gaea's Cradle or your Mana Drain isn't real.
@moop66674 жыл бұрын
U honestly don't mind playing against fake cards? , But what if u spend your hard earned dollars on a card that u thought about and synergized so good in ur deck , and someone else is like : oh that's €300 I'ts probably good I'll print that.
@chrisstropki2804 жыл бұрын
If their approach is putting in cards only because they’re expensive, they’re probably going to get out played by the guy who understands WHY a gaea’s cradle is worth what it is (excluding the reserved list scenario). If a guy proxies a gaea’s cradle into every deck he owns, without owning even 1 real copy, that’s maybe an issue. But proxying a few $300 cards for one cEDH deck isn’t that big a deal. I imagine cEDH growth would be stifled because of the expensive barrier to entry if proxies were heavily frowned upon.
@silvanobianchini69244 жыл бұрын
Yeah, not to mention that if every player on earth followed that policy of 'if it's expensive i'll just proxy it', Magic would have been shut down years ago... I honestly think that a proxy should be used only if you want to test a card with the intention to buy it in the near future if the testing goes well, or if you already own a copy of the card but you don't want to switch that card between multiple decks.

I am very appreciative of this video , one thing I would make note of, with Derevi there are a couple ways you can use it to get to WUBRG, with either City of Brass, Mana Confluence, Command Tower, Arcane Signet (if you opt to run it), or Birds of Paradise since Derevi's untap effect is a trigger for each creature you can target the same permanent multiple times and retap the mana before allowing a subsequent trigger to resolve.

@TensyCL4 жыл бұрын
Excellent video prof. Thanks for shining a spotlight on these decks. I just wanted to make clear the interaction between Najeela and Derevi, because it allows the pilot to go off with less attackers/lands. If you control one rainbow land (command tower for instance) and you connect with 5 attackers, you can stack Derevi's trigger and tap the command tower 5 times before the triggers resolve. So you don't need to have WUBRG in play. Derevi is probably the strongest wincon for this deck, and abusing his trigger is very important if you havn't been able to get many tokens or are land screwed.

@@timk1719 Yeah that's kinda why the archetype is called "Najeela Tempo" right? Just let Najeela do her thing with warriors while you use a full grip of hate and interaction to make sure no one else wins. If you combo off early, that's great, but if the game goes on for too long and Najeela isn't answered, you'll eventually just win with a token army. and no need to combo.
