When comparing Through the Fire and Flames to Jordan, it's good to keep in mind that GH2's engine is significantly harder to hit notes in than GH3's. GH2 has a smaller hit window, a limit to how fast you can strum lower than the game's frame rate, and there's a whole bunch of other technical stuff like GH3's infinite front-end and whatnot that makes playing songs on GH3 a much easier experience Granted TTFAF is still hard as balls, and a lot of other songs are strong contenders for being "the hardest GH song" like Operation Ground and Pound, The Devil Went Down to Georgia, Black Widow of La Porte, Eruption, etc. and there's a difference between being difficult to pass and difficult to full combo, where songs like I'm the One by Van Halen are notably busted, but none are really boosted by engine shenanigans quite like GH2 without being *solely* difficult due to the engine like the aforementioned Bark at the Moon in GH1 which is known to be absurdly hard due to GH1's broken HOPO mechanic even though the song itself is quite tame
@bigstopowens
@bigstopowens 2 жыл бұрын
i was about to comment this, gh2s engine was way worse and did make songs harder by default. so having said that jordan and ttfaf about equal if played on there respective platforms. i haven't played much gh after the metalica one though so there could be more songs to add to the list
@yeszoplusfriends
@yeszoplusfriends 2 жыл бұрын
@@bigstopowens GH2's engine was *harder* not worse. Arguably GH2 had the most consistant and satisfying engine in the series, 2nd if we count RB2 to be a part of the series as well. There's a reason so many players still play on GH2 and RB2 and there's a reason MiloHax made GH2DX and RB2DX.

Many years ago when I discovered Buckethead by accident his music blew my mind so hard I couldn't believe music like that existed, like in his Pike #11, such a combination of sounds and a whole concept around it, then something totally different like the album Population Override or Albino Slug. His music is so vast and different, the techniques he created, the abilities and creativity... Needless to say he is may favorite guitarist.

God I remember the first time I cleared Jordan on expert. I literally spent months playing it all day with the sound going through my stereo speakers, my family hated me so much that summer lmao. My best friend and I were in a competition to see who could be it first and then who could get the highest score. It’s still such a great memory and is also what introduced me to the legend that is bucket head. He then immediately became one of the few artists that I will love until I die, all thanks to guitar hero. I also learned to mod and run custom guitar hero tracks on ps2 just to play even harder bucket head songs, which also led me to learning more about taking electronics apart and modding them. So many skills learned because of that game and that one song. 😁

Jordan is the reason I installed a killswitch on one of my guitars. I only ever managed to learn how to play the funky intro riff, because it’s surprisingly easy if you have a killswitch. It’s like the Edge’s guitar playing, in the sense that it sounds more complicated than it really is. If you play guitar and never played with a killswitch, I highly recommend it. It’s way more fun than a whammy bar.

This video just hit me with a wave of nostalgia to remembering breaking out the Les Paul Controller from GH3 and playing GH2 exclusively to killswitch tap the Jordan Intro ( You could also strum play with the D-pad on it which served as the makeshift killswitch gimmick) and the weeks spent trying to just clear it as a beginner on Expert. Getting that "Kick the Bucket" achievement was satisfying as a kid.

I wish I had gotten into guitar hero. My older brother literally never let me play the guitar and only let me play the drums, not even once. And before I was even old enough to understand what was going on my parents got rid of our Wii, because "videogames are evil" (and cause violence and all that other bullshit). I'm waiting till the day that I'm not poor and can buy a second hand Wii from EB Games and the guitar off eBay or something and get into it and try and reclaim a childhood that was (honestly probably) stolen from me

try thrift shops, you can find the controllers tossed in with toys for dirt cheap, the wii, well good luck on that they do show up from time to time but arent as frequent a show and usually priced somewhere in the range of 50-90usd, not sure how applicable this is in your area given your mention of eb games but its how i got my setup together, ps2 is also a good target for this though since the ps2 controllers seem to be more common and the consoles are a lot more common or at least were last i checked

It continued being my bedtime routine until i was around 8 or 9 and got a tv in my room then i started leaving my tv on for sound instead of radio lol as a teen I actually willingly got rid of my tv and went back to just music though classical was not seen on rotation anymore sadly. He's known as the biggest man-child in metal music who will rage like a toddler, feet-stamping and screaming at the floor while crying included.

I hate the fact I wouldn't have been able to name the song or artist, but I knew exactly which riff the video was about. All because I remember watching my dad play GH2, and even sang along to the songs I knew.

I'm in favor of the sacrificial channel idea. Start up half a dozen of them and let them fall like burner phones in a modern spy flick.

I stream a bit of guitar hero on Twitch and they way to get around copyright or DMCA is to turn off the game track in the VOD. In OBS (has to be OBS, not streamlabs) You are able to choose which audio sources get saved into the VOD and if you untick the box that's used by VODS but keep stream audio going, you can't get struck with DMCA. In the Output tab in Settings, change the output mode to advanced, in the streaming tab you can then tick Twitch VOD Track and once you have that enabled, go back to your Mic/Aux in your audio mixer, click advanced audio properties, and then UNTICK the number you have selected for VODs. Boom, DMCA can't get you for copyright because they can't scan the VOD and they don't check for copyright during stream.

I think an opportunity was missed with Titan Buckethead. He should've kicked the wall and in comes the Wall of Skittles.

Brian Gibson of the band Lightning Bolt has been a lead artist on that game series. The band’s songs are usually among the hardest of the games.

PlayStation Access recently did a stream playing guitar hero 3. They were unsure at the time, where they stood with being allowed to stream, but were under the impression that, as long as they were talking over the music sufficiently they wouldn't have any trouble. That was 11 days ago and the video is still up. Hope that helps, good luck. Hope to see you guys shredding some tracks.

I was never really into music until I played True Crime: New York City and discovered Last Caress by Misfits. Also I'm a little late to the party, but you may be able to play Clone Hero on stream.

tapping the strings just turns your guitar into a QTE, change my mind 😂 also, as someone who was raised on it, its pretty interesting to hear how other people are introduced to it and where they came from in terms of music

Huge Buckethead fan here. Other cool facts about him: he did the opening theme to power rangers! He’s obsessed with both Texas chainsaw massacre and Disneyland. He’s weird but plenty of noteable people have worked with him, including the legendary Bootsy Collins. He’s very tall, and has very long fingers. He has an obvious fondness for chickens, and claims his “chicken picking” style (his name) is inspired by the souls of billions of slaughtered chickens, which he is able to channel by wearing the KFC bucket on his head

I'd recommend looking into clone hero. You can use custom music. You might be able to setup a playlist that KZbin won't murder you for

first time i've seen a video about buckethead and not mentioned how tall he is... He has custom guitars that are larger than when you'd normally be able to buy.

That killswitch method was, I think, first demonstrated by the guitarist of Rage Against The Machine. I forget his name. He probably isn't the very first to use the method, but he definitely popularised it...

Twitch has a feature where you can separate the copyrighted audio out of vods and delete it when the stream is over so your channel doesn't get DMCA strikes. This might work for guitar hero streams but I'd definitely experiment with it before trying it on an important channel.
