Hi Tracey, Seems like the first time in a while that you've been out on your own. Good old Billy did manage to choose his moment in "take 1" he's probably imbarrased that you kept it in but at least he didn't chase the herdies. Magnificent colours and clouds. You mentioned how the weather had been bet you've had some worse since 12 Dec. I've walked the Wastewater screes when I was young and indestructible. So basically the Yetis have mated with the herdies and they were spooking you. For the boggy/soggy bits you needed Yeti-gaitors they are brilliant. For the spooky and farm bits what you need is a sympathetic Andy to call all sorts of things to cheer you along. Love the Robin. Lastly during map and scissor ✂️ time you mentioned the path, I have something called a Satmap which allowed me to page through the OS, aerial and open sourse maps which is brilliant when you're not sure. Cheers Graham

I love Wasdale. Lonely Wastwater, moody, mysterious and stunningly beautiful. This and Buttermere are my favourite places. Loved the video. Your walk along that little path to the farm was a bit like Hansel & Gretel ha ha. You had great views from the top of Middle Fell and along Wastwater. Superb. Thanks for sharing and may I wish you, Andy & Billy a very merry Christmas and all the best for the new year.

Hi Tracey Loved your video! My husband and I climbed Middle Fell back in the summer when we were staying a Wasdale Head Farm! The fern was very green and tall back then but a beautiful walk to the top with stunning views. Also loved the shore walk around Wast Water which we did on a raining, misty day but still amazing views of the other end of the lake. Best wishes to you, Andy and Billybob. Wendy xx

Hey Tracey, what a beautiful video, not done that route so great to see and so well explained as usual which is really helpful. The quality of the film looking across to Scafell was simply stunning, I paused it and just looked at it for a while as it was that good. I do get what you mean about walking through farms, you sometimes get the feeling you are not welcome even if it is a public footpath. A stunning walk down the side of Wastwater, never seen anyone do it so glad you showed it us. Thanks for some fantastic videos this year Tracey, I have enjoyed them all. I wish you, Andy and Billy a lovely Christmas. Take care

Thanks very much Steve. That so kind . You will love wasdale and the route up to Middle Fell and even along to Seatallan and Buckbarrow and the low level walk along the shore if wastwater is stunning. But def worth doing this out of season or it will be exceptionally busy ....have a great crimbo and new year ❤️ 🎄

Just round the corner from where I live so know this walk very well. Best done either in summer or when frozen as those fields are always wet or muddy. Great views of Wastwater and the fells from this walk. Many different paths off the route you took lead to the lake. Keep em coming.

Hi Tracey, hi Billy. Absolutely brilliant. I do love the area around Wasdale, it’s just stunning, and very much worth the long drive to get there. I’ve looked at the path across the bottom of the screes, but often thought well all that rock has come down from somewhere. Your video clip, hearing them tumbling down has made my decision, no way will I be doing it! 🤣 Thank you for sharing this adventure and all the other ones throughout the year. Have a lovely Christmas and a great New Year. All the best to you all, Dave 😀🥾⛰

Fabulous route Tracy you and Billy definitely had the weather with you on this hike 🤠👍 The sound of rock fall is a good reminder of the need of a lid (helmet) when close in i the rock 🪨 Best regards and have a great Christmas 🎄 Simon 🤠👍🏔️

Hi Tracey. Great video in stunning surroundings. We did the “scary path” and the flooded track in the opposite direction on the way back from bagging some Birketts (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqqcooaNnMp3a9E). I’m going to watch your video on Buckbarrow as we totally lost the path coming down (also had a nightmare and lost all the footage!) There’s a shoutout for Billy, you & Andy in my last video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/d56WYayamdBoZ6s). Best regards, Tony & Charlie.

@@Traceyattrill-Essexgirlinwild I’ve just had a memory pop up on Facebook and it was 2 years ago today we did the Buckbarrow walk. We parked in the same place as you and went over Middle Fell & Seatallan before Buckbarrow. We’re off on t’La’al Ratty on Boxing Day and walking back over Irton Pike. Happy Christmas to you all and looking forward to your adventures in 2024.

@@Traceyattrill-Essexgirlinwild Yes, we will be filming it. We went on it last Boxing Day too and there’s a video on here. The train was all lit up and it was dark on the way back, so it looked great. Last train back is an hour earlier this year, so not sure if it’ll be quite the same 🙁

Thanks Graham ....are you talking about the farmer when you mention herdies mating with yeties 😄 I def need some gaiters ...your suggested shopping list is getting longer and longer 😄 I should have checked openstreetmap which has all paths that aren't usually on OS map I just forgot ..silly me oh plus no mobile phone signal 😒 it was a bit of a car crash wasn't it haha , and saying the wrong name of Greendale all the way thru 😉 I think I need to take a whisky flask with me during winter months..get the old brain cells in gear 🤔..have a great Christmas Graham
