If we keep listening, studying the peoples, taking notes, we can find paths to peace. I still believe it is possible. @@frankbooth1298 There are more than 100 different ethnic and cultural minorities that live inside of the artificial and manmade "construct" that is called "Ukraine". It is complex and far more balkanized than most here can ever fathom. It lacks the homogeneity for the simple "nation state" concept, that is being apllied by ethnic nationalists and neo Nazi's to rebrand it and make it a NATO feifdom. I especially like the "amber waves of grain" reference at the 4.04 minute mark, that was smuggled into the discussion, to plant a hidden reference to "America the Beautiful" into the heads of the American target audience. This is propaganda and it is tailored to specific psychological and cultural profiles and archetypes to make it effective. I can't remember learning much about history in school. I do remember watching old jittery black and white films of wars. I have always tried to learn about history on my own because I find it interesting and a valuable lesson to know in life. My great grandparents came from both Russia and Ukraine to the U.S. in the early 1900's fearing their safety in their countries. They had to work extremely hard in the U.S. to live and survive; almost like peasant slaves doing the most awful and dangerous work available to them. They worked hard to advance their quality of life, the way people are supposed to do. Neighbors would help one another to become educated and stronger to grow.

I am Italian but I lived and worked close to Chernobyl from 2004 to 2014. This lecture is right in describing the historical background since distruction of Rus' by Mongols in 1240 onward. From that time all people living in the current land named Ucraine, under Mongols or Polish or Tartars and so on, felt themselves more and more different from those living in Russian Empire. Than the hope to create an independent Cossack State increased the self consciousness of being different from Russians. The recent steps from the end of WW1 and the creation of Ukraine for the first time, the Holodomor, orange revolution, corruption, Maidan in 2014.... are steps leading to the current situation where an anachronistic dictatorship tries to move watch backward. Ucraine is part of Europe, they look forward to belong to a not perfect but certainly better word than the one that since Ivan IV has never changed. They've the right to choose their own future. The Rus were Viking tribes that settled in Kiev as far back as 750 AD, 400 years before Moskva existed. Moskva were Finnish Urgic Tribes; Mosk means cow and Va water, which are Finnish names. There is no RUS there. The ethnic background of Moskva is Finnish-Urgic and Mongolian. The Rus developed the religion, city Kiev, alphabet, and had its saints. The founder was a Viking named Askold or Oskold (Norse) from Sweden; not Oleg as in the Russian story. Oskold, the first king was in Kiev before Oleg in Novgorod. Oskold was baptized in Constantinople and sent the first bishop back to Kiev. Oskold is buried in Kiev. From Kiev, the capitol of Rus, Kievian culture was spread, much like the Greeks Hellenized the known world, or like the British anglicized the world by the English language. This process does not make Moskva to become RUS in as much as Persian are not Greek. How we are misled by a name; Russia. The capitol of the RUS has always been Kiev. There is no other RUS and no RUS in Moskva. Many say Ukraine began recently; but the culture of the RUS is Kievian RUS, both culture and ethnic background. Ukraine is a name given by Poland meaning outer lands. The lands of the RUS before the Mongolian invasion was very large. The name RUS is a Norse name which means men that row; there are no men that row in Moskva. So Moskva adopted the name Russia while being a Mongolian vassal, essentially traitor to the RUS; and all the czars were Mongolian-Finnish. The Culture of the Mongolian was centralized power, and that was passed on to present day Russia. Ukraine’s real name should be Kievian RUS, or Kievskarus! Putin & Lavrov should be ashamed of themselves, the USSR was an occupation; it never had the status of a sovereign state and due process of law that would be associated with a free society. As such, it did not deserve to exist; and history has shown such organizations fail over time and author in many gulags. The true culture of Russia is Finno-Ugric and Mongolian, having nothing to do with the RUS (Kievian), expect borrowed as in the sense of Hellenized or Anglicized "forms" as a comparative reference. The centralized form of Russian politics is a very Mongolian imprint on culture. The actions of Putin seem to be another Mongolian invasion of Kiev; here I suggest as to the correct metaphor. I believe so. Putin & Lavrov insistence to have purview over eastern Europe also seems like paying tribute to the Mongolian Horde. This is the Manner which Moskva formed, combining a Finnish name meaning cows water. Va means water. The RUS are men that row, Vikings, Norse, established Kiev 400 years before (750 AD) Moskva even thought to exist. The name Russia for current nation is totally inappropriate. All the lands should be returned to Kiev; the West of Russia to Finland, and the East to Mongolia. Russia’s place on the globe appears as a temporary aberration in my view. To use threats of Nukes publicly strikes at the heart as adolescent behaviour; surely any nation or person that issues such threats and being an ally to such while not even having war imposed on them is not fit to rule. This would include allies of Russia. Oh yes, I remember, Russia didn't invent the bomb, they stole it in the 1940's and gave it to Kurchatov.

Another ancestor from father was Prussian Royalty..whom mixed with Hungary Austria Holland UK and many more..They were called Nassau and tried to unite Europe..they were part of the Christian reforms and fought many wars and decided it was better to unite through marriage.

While I have no interest in debate, I will say that the word RISHI....( from Sanskrit the mother of all language ) denotes people or sages of great renunciation and austere living. A Rishi was a type of yogi who would often be in power as a king, but have the intelligence, endurance, simplicity, and vow of self imposed poverty to strengthen their connection to the divine. They were knowledgeable in Forest living, and sustainability by minimizing bodily comforts. This was long long long ago, but names survive time!

In pictures I've seen in past ,there had been some very beautiful houses and buildings built, it's a shame so much gets torn down in wars. But of course that's nothing compared to the loss on families and human lives. I think deep down all people wish to have safety and stability and freedoms to make there own choices. I'm praying for peace in all this.yet of nobody wants to be oppressed by anyone.

America has a part in this corrupt history as well... America back orange party President candidate Viktor Yushchenko who's wife worked for the United States as humanitarian assistant secretary. History prove and video shows that America knew that Yushchenko was a follower of Stephan Banderas ideology.. and a person in favor of the wealthy. When protests broke out against him he admitted his allegiance with Stephan Banderas ideology.. it was a Nazi ideology.. with was represented by the red and black flag.. But he ran under the orange flag party... You know Ukraine is a country with rich resources,.. especially wheat 🌾🌾 and great borders for trade... and when a country like that is spilt.. other come in to get a piece of the pie 🥧. . So America media feed us propaganda that they are their to help the situation.. but they are doing the same as the Russian oligarchs did in Ukraine in the 90's. But to achieve this you must put some of your people in to stir up the controversy.. So the person they used was from The country of Georgia .. Mikheil Saakashvili. .. I may have misspelled the name.. but it spelled close to that.. He caused controversy in Georgia and that controversy turn Georgia into a Nato country.. The Rose Revolution. .... now it was more involved beside him . But he was the leader chose by America and President Bush was president at that time.. but it doesn't matter who the president is or was.... Because it continue thru President Obama and Vice President Biden.. Senator John McCain... George Soros play a role.. and many more... He was one of the money men... So you see it wasn't just a Republican or Democrat thing.. But it is about the most powerful men in the United States and the world.. These people are more powerful than our President.. so America used Saakashvili in Georgia.. than protests broke out against him.. He fled to America... And later appears in Ukraine leading protests in Maidan.. The Maidan Uprising.. unlike Georgia .,....Ukraine leader had backed out of joining the EU.. wich prevented Ukraine from joining NATO.. So Saakashvili mission in Ukraine didn't go as it was planned.. But he was rewarded for his efforts... A citizen of Georgia and former President of Georgia.... was made a Governor of Odessa..why???? So .. America will always have a stake in Ukraine 🥧.. This history is long and is about the most powerful people in the world including those most powerful men of the United States.. Gaining control of the World.... Now my research of Europe really as nothing to do with this war... But I have been talking with a few friends about the prophecy of the Bible being fulfilled... And Europe is a part of my Study.. I am far from completion.. but I did get started.. So unfortunately a lot of Ukrainian and Russia will die for the Gain of Most Powerful men greedy desire for The Power that is only held by Almighty God.. But man has a Evil Desire to be equal with God.. This corruption in Ukraine is only a small part of the Evil that is in the Hearts of man...

The best American myth is "Russia must respect International laws just like we always do"! When one of our allies (today Ukraine) suffers the consequences of the law of the jungle we are in shock. We have practised the law of the jungle since the creation of the 13 colonies when the local North American Indians were decimated. During my lifetime we have waged war in Vietnam, the Afghanistan invasion, the second Iraqi invasion, Syria (only regime change attempt), Libya war... We continue supporting the occupation of the Palestinian West Bank and the Syrian Golan by Israel against UN security council resolutions passed by the USA, France and the UK. It never crossed our mind to sanction our friend Israel for breaking UN security council resolutions. When France was against the second invasion of Iraq we said let's ban French products from US shelves. We wished to cancel the French because they did not wish to follow the law of the jungle for once. Our wars displaced millions of people. But when the refugees of the countries we destroyed try to go to Europe or the US for safety reasons we tell them to go back home fake refugees. But when refugees are the result of our enemy’s destruction we welcome them with an open heart. Well, Ukrainians are blond, blue-eyed and Christian and we did not destroy their country, so they should be human beings… The issue is we do have lost our moral compass. Why are we surprised that Russians also have no moral compass and only look for their interests. Should we only display compassion when our media decide to show the atrocities created by our enemies, but never show compassion towards the atrocities of the wars we start as our media hide the footage of the families that we are bombing while they try to escape? Are our victims less human? We and Israel must lead by example and accept the authority of the International Criminal Court (ICC). We can not ask the ICC to try Russia when George W. Bush signed into law the American Service-Members' Protection Act that authorises the US to release any US or allied personnel being detained or imprisoned at the request of the ICC, this law is nicknamed "Hague Invasion Act”. When the UN security council does not greenlight our numerous illegal wars we claim the UN is corrupt, illegal and political and we threaten to cut our financial contributions. But when our enemies follow our example by committing war crimes we claim the ICC and UN and international law must be Sacro-Saint. Seems we should first question ourselves before throwing the stone at the Russians. We are just as guilty as the Russians. The world order is obviously broken and it needs fixing as the law of the jungle does not seem acceptable anymore now that we see 'real' human beings like Ukrainians can be killed. We thought the law of the jungle we had applied would only result in the killings of 'sub humans' such as Palestinians, Vietnamese and Iraqis, now we know we were wrong. Wouldn't it be better to assume that we are all human and all deserve compassion? It is about time we wake up.
@janinewetzler50372 жыл бұрын
Yes, and to finally stand up and do something substantial to push back against tyrannylike what is happening in Ukraine right now. Yup, we is guilty as charged, and know we has to change...cannot start that process unless we actually can stand for that change, so...International volunteers got to Ukraine and World sanctions Russia...its a start.

According to the ancient legend, Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, was founded by three brothers, Kyi, Schek and Khoryv, and their sister Lybed, at the end of the 5th-beginning of the 6th centuries. The city was named after the eldest brother Kyi. Kyiv means the city of Kyi. Kyiv is a Ukrainian spelling and Kiev is Russian, more known worldwide since the Soviet times. Many ancient tribes gathered around Kiev, and at the end of the 9th century the city became the political center of the Eastern Slavs. In the year 988 Christianity, introduced by Great Prince Vladimir, became the official religion of the Kievan Rus. This helped to establish political and cultural relations with such states as the Byzantium Empire and Bulgaria. At that time almost 50,000 people lived in the city; there were about 400 churches and 8 markets. When Vladimir Monomakh died in the year 1152, the mighty Kievan Rus began to decay. In 1240 Kiev was demolished by Baty-khan. Only in the 14th century Kiev began to revive. But in 1362 Great Duke of Lithuania captured the city. For more than one hundred years it was under the command of Lithuanian and Polish dukes. People's liberation war of 1648-1654 against the Lithuanian-Polish Yoke led to liberation. But Cossack armies, headed by Hetman Bogdan Khmelnitsky, couldn't manage to conquer the enemy without help from Russia. As a result, Ukraine plunged under a long period of domination by the Russian Empire.

@@jgrysiak6566 Because of Yeltsin, Chechnya turned into a hot bed for terrorism and gun trade, US' and Russian oligarchs were hands deep into those wars. Putin was actually the one that consolidated with regional power and restored peace. Simultaneously, behind curtains, there was a power struggle among oligarchs and secret services. Putin's clique won in that conflict, but some oligarchs run away to England, Italy, also US. From 2000 -onward the goal is to not let Russian money be transferred offshore. This goal is still relevant as, even now, oligarchs that "left" as much as thoes who "stayed" find ways to steal. He also assisted China with USSR's knowledge base (both in terms of geopolitics and innovations), as US took everything they needed during 90's for free. Assistance to China helped its economical growth. Putin also returned to Middle Eastern arena, where the big game is. Africa... Well, USSR had interest in Africa, but Russia doesn't, hence we don't take refugees from that area. West hates Vladimir Putin exactly for all these, but also for the fact that he returned Russia into a big arena, where everyone are fighting for resources (especially oil).
