I have hardwood floors in my house, even in the kitchen and bathrooms, and I would never change it. It is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It is so easy to care for, even with kids and dogs. I hope the new folks will give it a try before changing it. Great job Linda, be sure to let us know about your consignment location!

I live in a 1931 Craftsman and had water issues a handful of years ago in the upstairs bathroom. Since the bathroom is above the kitchen, it had to be ripped apart down to the studs, and the dated linoleum removed. Lo and behold, there were beautiful hardwood floors beneath. I chose to keep them and had them refinished. I LOVE the hardwood floors in my kitchen as well as all of the floors in my home. To each their own, I know, but I sure hope the new owners don’t replace the hardwood floors with tile.
@hawthornetree6463 жыл бұрын
Agree. I love hardwood floors. They are so pretty and I think practical too. I guess you have to take care to protect from water damage though.

Me too - we have hardwoods in the kitchen and all three bathrooms. To me, even though this home is only seventeen years old, it has the look and feel of an older home.

What an emotional experience to walk through your empty house before leaving behind wonderful memories. How fortunate you are to be looking forward to your forever home, new projects and new memories. After living in my house for 25 years, I started to get anxious as I watched your tour--thinking about the amount of work it would take to empty everything we've accumulated--including a packed attic and basement. Best wishes from Connecticut.

Knowing that with my husband’s job with DOD we would be moving every 3-5 years, I just haven’t let myself fall in love with any of the houses we bought, and we bought one with every move. I thought this last move from PA to AZ would be the last until we have to for our health, but we’re now talking about finding something closer to town. It’s funny how sometimes the first thing the new homeowners changed was the very thing I thought someone would love most.

I was impressed particularly by the kitchen... It was so warm and cozy, i was feeling "like home" while your were doing whatever in there (cooking, telling us stories about thrifted things, decorating...). Seeing that kitchen empty i did have a feeling of sorrow, something nostalgic, don't know how to express it... Still, i'm so excited to see you at Sugarwood, and can't wait for new stories and adventures! You do amazing job wherever you are, Linda!♥️💝

Linda thank you for sharing your departure with your well loved home. I think in ways putting love into a house is nurturing and taking care of the land, even if temporary. A piece of your love is there to give to others and that’s what the world needs. This is so inspiring and I enjoyed this journey with you, although I’m only a new follower lol. I’ve moved many times and dreaded putting care and love into a new home only to possibly leave once again, but your insight on loving a home because it’s your time spent there and giving to others, has changed my viewpoint. Now I’m ready to move, possibly again and again, and with each home, fix and love it to give to those in need. I’ve moved into homes that we’re not well kept which was burdening on my time there and I always thought “if only the landlord took care of this place, etc” Now I understand just how important that is. As well as it giving to others, I think it also gives back to ourselves and I’m encouraged to find my new home and ever changing journey. Your channel is my favourite by the way, and I am so grateful to have found you. Can’t wait for more. Blessings to you in your new home!!! 💕
