Every single thing in the original Silent Hill 2 is symbolic of something, if you change little things like clothing, location of the radio or slightly change design of the monsters then you mess with the original vision of Silent Hill 2. The people that love the original game are gonna despise this remake. The new players might like it but I wouldn't be suprised if most of them will think its just a Resident Evil clone with worse combat mechanics.

The fun fact is that they are using the original character concepts created by Team Silent that were never used in the original game. Also, you and a lot of people seem to forget that the monsters in the remake are design by Masahiro Ito, so if you dont like, dont blame Bloober.

It looks good, IMO. People are just not happy with some of the characters' faces, and it's blooper developing the game. But from what I have seen, the combat and graphics look much better from the first trailer. Day one purchase for me.

I really appreciate this fair take. I don’t feel comfortable judging a game until it’s released, just doesn’t feel fair. I also love the RE remakes, and I have some hope that Bloober will be faithful to the original. Even if it isn’t good…I don’t think it’s fair to tear it down before we’ve even gotten a chance to see more than a few minutes of it. I really recommend playing SH3 btw- it’s my personal favorite :) perhaps that’s why I’m not as upset about this one so far 😅

As someone who hasn't really played that much of SILENT HILL, I'm excited for SH2, I don't really have an issue with the redesigns, but what I am worried about is the animations, in both combat, and movement. The running animation in the early bit of the trailer just looks dumb, and the melee animations could definitely be better, the overhead swing specifically.

Being one of those fans that has played SH for over 26 years I can honestly say that Bloober team did a fantastic job. The models look amazing, the stage and set pieces look dark and grimey, Angela looks like a real persn with serious trauma (i've seen some "edits" on reddit that made le laugh out loud, because they made her into a cover girl complete with a nose and boob job). I know Bloober doesn't have many fans but if the people behind the Rambo game are able to bounce high with their later efforts, I have faith that Bloober can do the same. The latest Silent Hill 2 Remake transmission cleared most of my doubts about this remake. It looks incredible; they perfectly executed the same atmosphere, eerie vibes, and environmental details as in the original. The voice acting and character emotions are on point. So far, from what they’ve shown regarding combat, it looks very faithful to the original. James isn’t a combat veteran; he's always portrayed as a normal guy lost in this town in search of his wife. I’m really glad the Bloober Team developers kept the same jank and stiffness in the combat. I’m very excited for this remake. I’m cautiously optimistic about it, and I’m sure they’ll deliver it perfectly.

I don't have a problem with Angela's new design, though she does look lower quality than the other characters, almost like she belongs to the late PS3 era of games. Hopefully they iron that out. However I do have a problem with Maria's new design and how they toned down her looks. Maria is supposed to be "pretty". Her face looked very sultry and gave a seductive and confident "lady of the night" vibe in the original game. The new Maria, while not ugly, looks more "cute", kind of like a stereotypical soccer mom type. Combine that with the more modest clothing and the new Maria just throws a huge wrench into the underlying tones and sexual themes of the story. She was supposed to be objectified and a sexual fantasy because she's not even real, she's a literal creation by the force of Silent Hill straight from Jame's sexually frustrated mind. It's also why the nurses and mannequin leg creatures were provocative in nature in the original game.

Konami in general has other products that still need attention. Getsufumaden: Undying moon being one of them. The company hasn't been the best in a long time for reasons. These recent announcements are interesting, but Konami has an uphill battle. I'm surprised how wild Silent Hill is and never gave it a chance. Psychological horror is a rarity for me, I'll check out a playthrough on your channel on release day.

LTRE definitely check out Silent Hill 3 some day, but the original version not the HD collection. The original release has the better voice acting. I hope it's good. I'm just worried this game will treat us like children. With hand holdy gameplay. I'm fine with them changing things. It seems stiff, the vibe feels off, wish they didn't use real actors & instead took more artistic liberties to achieve a eerie somethings off sorta vibe. Hopefully they don't go the direction where they don't want to make people uncomfortable because this game is meant to make people uncomfortable. If they aren't okay with creating a uncomfortable inappropriate game then they really picked the wrong team to make a game such as this. It doesn’t look good. The redesigns look bad, James still doesn’t look like James. The gunplay and animations look poor. In terms of quality, this pales in comparison to the resident evil remakes. I don’t know why Konami didn’t remake this or why it was given to blooper team. Honestly it looks like a fan remake.

I have seen other fools on here claim the reason final fantasy 7 rebirth has such bad inconsistent quality control throughout the game in terms of graphics, resolution, texture issues, poor quality assets used, poor lighting - is because square enix didn’t have a big budget 🤦‍♂️ but guerrilla games who made horizon forbidden west did 🤣 Absurd.

Yeah I'm fairly mixed on this. More than anything, watching the gameplay left me feeling nothing. It didn't rouse anything out of me, and what we were shown is missing a lot of atmosphere from the original. I'm going into it with lowered expectations... will probably wait for it to go on sale.

Wokonami. Most of these companies are in bed with each other, peddling degenerate wokism in video gaming. It doesn't matter how long Konami has been out of the VG industry for. And Bloober Team is really stupid for desexualizing Maria and the feminine monsters, as the sex appeal is actually a part of Silent Hill 2's story concerning James Sunderland, in an organic and intelligent manner. The sexualizations in SH2 were never present just for the sake of having sexualizations. This is why alot of developers in triple A video gaming these days are political activist losers, and not artists. However, FromSoftware, Team Ninja, and Sucker Punch Productions are some of the few exceptions, as they have consistently put out banger titles. Without compromise. And yes, with one of the most important aspects, narrative, Capcom's Biohazard: RE2/Resident Evil 2 (2019) is a failure as a whole.

Dei needs to die. It's catch twenty-two. If you support it, we will hopefully get more remakes. Will dei continue if we support it. I dont want it to affect future games. It pisses me off that we have to make that choice. It's like resident evil 4 vr cutting the jokes and sexual stuff. It was still rated m and censored from the original. I would argue this is the best combat in any silent hill game.

Silent Hill 2 (Original) is one of my favorite games... I saw the footage and trailers. This did nothing for me. Nothing about it looks creepy, scary, atmospheric...it just looks generic.

The biggest mistake they made is greenlighting the project hahaha. But for real though, i think it'll be good but nothing spectacular. Maybe a 7.7/10. The OG will always be a 10/10 for me.
