Another thing to look out for is a woman who will hyper focus on a small mistake in whole list of tasks. In the summer of 2020 when we were out of toilet paper and my wife was so terrified of a virus that she wanted to "shelter in place" with our two kids (while I still had to work to make it even possible for her to "shelter in place") I got up at 4:30 AM on a Sunday morning, made a grocery list and got to the store to stand in line and be one of the first to make a Bee Line to the toilet paper at 6 when they opened. I filled that basket up with everything she might need for her and the kids, paid for it with the money I earn (she doesn't earn a dime). I brought it all home and carried it inside while she slept. I wiped it all down like a fool with the homemade alcohol wipes I made. I cleaned out the frig of all the leftovers and stuff past date, and put everything up. In the process, I put a cup of flavored coffee my wife was saving for our disabled son on the kitchen counter, so i wouldn't spill it. I started new wipes since I ran out, finished folding towels from the night before, then started cleaning up the dishes I had piled in the sink and on the counter, all while she was still asleep in bed. There was yard work to do and that day was my only day to get it done before a new work week began. In my haste of cleaning the kitchen, I poured out that cup of leftover coffee. So i made more coffee for him (though just regular coffee since the flavored was all gone) and then I went outside to start cutting down the over grown crap at our fence line before the heat would become worse... all while she was sound asleep in bed. I had been up working for hours before she emerged from the house. She didn't say "Good Morning" to me. She didn't ask how I was feeling. She didn't say thank you for anything i had done that day or ask if she could bring me a drink.... all she did was ask me what happened to that cup of coffee she was saving. I told her I had accidently dumped it and as I was starting to explain what happened, she literally turned her back on me while I was speaking to her, walking away from me as I was saying her name, walked into our house and closed the door hard behind her. There I was, sweating, tired and having spent my entire morning serving her and our family.... and she managed to make me feel like a complete failure over a day old cup of leftover coffee. I quite honestly have regretted marrying this woman since day one.

Look into any fridge and the first 3 inches above the shelf is nearly fully used up by various containers but 6 inches and above is completely empty except for bottle necks. The vase one reminded me of a time my (now ex) wife wanted to fix her shoe. I came home to see her hovering over the kitchen sink, holding her shoes and her hands covered in glue. I asked what she was doing and she told me she fixed her shoe. I tried to explain that she had used wood glue and it was not going to work and she replied "Doesn't matter. Glue is glue". I said "Ok" and walked away. the next day she tried to put her shoe on and all the glue cracked and the shoe opened up again. She actually blamed me for it saying that I didn't take care of the problem (even though I never knew her shoe needed fixing) and for not specifically labeling each glue for what it should be used for. I don't miss her.

Wow! I just had the exact same experience with my wife about 2 months ago. She "fixed" a pair of sandals I had bought her when the soles separated a bit. I coukd clearly see that she used the wrong glue and didn't put any pressure on them to ensure a tight bond while they cured. She insisted that they "Would be fine." I said, OK, and walked away. The very next day, she realized her repair was ineffective and made a sideways comment about where I had bought them. As though it wasn't the way she mistreated them that might have contributed to the problem. (She breaks or otherwise destroys literally everything I buy her.) Anyway, because I like to fix things, I fixed them properly, and they are better than new. Over 2 months later, the words "Thank you" have not crossed her lips. Gratitude is her Kryptonite.

Once I understood that my life was a lot better, it only took me about thirty years to figure it out. Fast forward I’ve been married to the love of my life for almost 30 years now. We’ve raised an amazing family & we’re still in love and I’m sure we’ll be together forever. We clearly got a bit lucky as most couples we know did not last. I did not meet my wife until I was 32. And I believe it all worked out because I had finally realized and appreciated how and why woman think / act and how to spot a good one. That first woman just wanted him to do what he was told like a good boy. He thought outside the box on how to do the chore and still have his free time. Good on him. I had an ex who literally took a bowl of snacks out of my hand and put them away in the kitchen telling me "You've had enough." I agreed and walked out, we split up the next day and I ate a whole can of pringles with my dog on the couch. It was glorious!

Roombas still require floorspace they operate in to be mostly free of items. In other words, they can't help you picking up your room, but they're good with sweeping and mopping. It isn't "dramatic" to get one to save time. It's a cost/benefit analysis. You buy them to do the 90% of the floor space, so you can focus all your time, attention, and energy where the robot can't go, doing what the robot can't do.

"Flowers" is an interesting one. As a man, I would have thought the idea of destroying the good-looking thing that you get isn't a healthy way to express your love, and that the symbolism of buying your sweetheart a flowering plant provides a better metaphor for your love growing and blossoming together.

Im fifty seven now and most of my life I was in a relationship. I thought I needed to be in a relationship to be a normal person living an average life. Boy was I wrong. In every relationship I brought home the stuff that mattered, what I got in return was some nookie once in awhile if I behaved properly. I have been single for ten years now and its been the happiest time of my life. I will never, ever get in a relationship again. I do what I want to do, I eat what I want to eat for dinner, I spend my money on me and my life, I sleep where I want. Never again.

Emily, you're right about controlling behaviors showing themselves. I've seen this in action myself. Back in September of 2023, I went on a date with someone I'd met online. It was my first date in five years since my relationship ended. It was a nice buffet breakfast at a hotel near her house. She'd suggested the place, and I thought it was a good idea. Anyway, because I eat fruit during the week, I don't eat much on the weekends; on weekends, I enjoy eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, etc. Do you know that BITCH criticized me for not eating fruit? She did. I made up my mind right then that there that there would be NO second date! Yes, controlling and bitchy behaviors show themselves; you just need to be paying attention...

You know what the saddest thing is I just realized? 😢 I’m over 40 and it hasn’t been my fate to have kids. I’m very happy now, but if, perhaps fails, I doubt I will ever bother with a ‘real’ relationship. I’ll probably just have the occasional paydate, I guess, and I’ll stick to that because there is no expectation anymore that I’m ever going to have a fulfilling relationship: no living together, no children to see myself in (both the good and bad sides of me), no empty-nest syndrome, no anxiety over if they’ll be home safely when they’re biking home from the city while going out with their fiends, no investing of my build-up fortune to prevent them from having crippling student dept… Grandchildren are not even in the view of my lifetime at the moment! No, if my current relationship fails, I’m very likely going to experience the heat-death of my life: just existing without meaning and slowly declining in, eh, everything…

Bingo. The worst part was my first wife had never worked a day in her life and had no idea of what a job was. That was fatal to my career. Meanwhile the first five years she "kept house" for the two of us in a one bedroom apartment. That took a couple of hours a day which she then filled with soap operas and romance novels. Of course she ended up cheating while I worked overtime! No one could be Fabio in her life. Not even the real Fabio could have lived up to her ideals.

She didn't get it, and as I was holding my breath (voice) as I was speeding to get her back to her place and out of my life she kept talking about her stipulations for the next date. I went home and took a shower. This drift in female mentality has been engineered by the father of lies.

The older and more experienced with relations I have had, I am convinced of this: Tell her from the outset that you want her to be happy. Be a nice guy that doesn't talk too much. Do not start paying large money for what she "needs". If she is becoming unhappy, look at that as a red flag. Later if the unhappiness persists, simply and quickly show her where the door is. Do not be sucked in by her crazy emotions.
