A Hunter's Guide to Phase 5 BIS | WoW Classic Tutorial

Finally got around to doing my guide on phase 5 best in slot.
Even though AQ40 is kind of a "side grade" it shakes thing up more than you'd think. Even a piece from AQ20 makes an appearance.
I feel so sorry for Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight.

The content of this video is good and nothing really wrong, though there are some builds including the full 5/5 T2.5 Strikers set combined with some other items (some like Veklors Gloves, Ossirian Binding, PvP Gloves, T2 3Set, have been mentioned in this video, others are missing or will be available in P6) that will give you and your raid much higher overall DPS, consistency, sustain and most importantly the scaling of high stats like agility with buffs. Due to its random procc chance and short uptime the T2 8/8 is good on long fights with a full group of hunters wearing it, but in better guilds, where even fights last much shorter, you cant make use out of RNG. Also you will be using all kinds of buffs and consumables that your raw stats scale even better with. Don't forget abou the debuff cap on bosses, when it comes to T2 and trinkets - "Don't you dare using Serpent Sting!". While the spellpower and arcane shots can be ignored, a big bonus of the T2.5 is the cooldown reduction on rapid fire, allowing you to use rapid fire together with your activatable trinkets consistently on every encounter in fast runs and even twice in bossfights that always take longer due to high hp and mechanics that take some time (Twins, Ouro, Cthun for example). Rapid fire is the strongest boost to hunters dps, especialy its exponential scaling with the hawk procc, trinkets, charge times, on hit proccs and the direct dps boost from just shooting faster. If i had to make it short without too much explanation: T2 8/8 in long fights when there are many hunters using it too. T2.5 5/5 + Various other gear in short fights (better guilds, more consumables, buffs, SCALING).

I enchant all my boots with run speed, enough movement fights in AQ and NAXX that the extra speed is better than the 7 agi

Use zg swift pot or get use to swapping aspects between shots. The potion is bis though, just annoying cuz you can only get 1

I use full field marshel with the aq20 belt and t2 bracers barb for melee weaving and BWL Crossbow, earthstrike off cd and ZG trinkets off cd

So do you go with +7 dmg on weapon instead of 3% hit? currently using the 3% scope but sitting at around 10-11% hit.

You shouldn't really be hitting that high of hit rating, unless you're LR. If you are LR you'd have the hit talents and can take the +7 scope, as MM you're probably gonna need the hit scope.

I couldn't get the full set to sim higher than the configuration I showed. r10 helm shoulders, strikers chest and r12 gloves beat it out by a few dps. The big stam difference could still make the full set worth it though, especially depending on the fight.

1) If you're a d0rf you can add +7 damage on your Larvae of the Great Worm. Combined with more imp aspect of the hawk it's arguably more dps, or at least the same. Especially if your aimed shot weaving is tight enough. The easy to get miniature cannonballs are just the cherry on the cake. 2) In the rare occasion where your guild has more than 3 active hunters (like my guild) there's no use what so ever to wear T2 over T2.5 as the 4th+ hunter. More than 3 people popping T2 expose weakness is overkill and the T2.5 makes rapid fire spamable... You can also use Ossirian's Binding, Wristguards of True Flight and the T12 gloves with a set of 8 pieces with much better stats than T2, in exchange of the T2 8 pieces bonus (which 3 other hunters are proccing already) for the T2.5 5 piece bonus. Hack, you can even exchange the rank 12 gloves for Vek'lor's Gloves of Devastation, or just use T2 belt gloves and wrist for the set bonus and it would still be better than a full T2. 3) It also should be noted that in the case that you have more than 3 active hunters it might be viable to start looking at a survival agility spec at this point since you get a big agility boost from items in AQ40 and although it's not enough to justify it objectively, such as with full P6 items, if your guild doesn't need more than 3 True Shot auras then a hunter with a survival spec would actually be objectively better as of this phase. people should talk more about this.

Are you having issues with t2 set bonus getting overwritten by each other with 4 hunters? I've never gotten to run with more than 3 in 8/8 so I'd be interested in it's behavior with that many hunters.

@@Bigbobbedboi my guild had 5, which I know is irregular and not "optimal" but probably far from the only one. I don't think you need 5 people proccing exposed weakness nor 5 trueshot auras in raid. I also think that at this point, with p5 gear, 1-2 hunters should be considering changing to survival agility spec and to T2.5 since it's just more damage if they get the trueshot aura from someone else anyway, and because a T2.5 arrangement with spamable rapid fire is just more damage than T2 period if you don't count in the T2 full bonus (which has overlaps at this point anyway judging by proc rate).

@@Bigbobbedboi Did you cross-reference this with Skinnays BIS list? Some of it only applies for alliance, but according to this (and ivepugged it into the SixxSheet also), the t2.5, ossirians kit + velkors gloves from emps if you dont have marshall gloves, is a pretty decent margin above t2, especially so if you melee weave due to STR. This becomes more true the more buffed you are, and t2 is only true bis still if you have 4 hunters in the raid Beyond this, a mix of rank 12/10 gear right now is significantly better than t2

@@lowelocinema2430 I would say in this video BobBoi shows the realistic BiS. The true BiS with PvP-gear and off-set pieces I think everyone agrees is better, but good luck getting t2.5 prio, dft and cloak of the fallen god. Even pugio prio many guilds cuck hunters on.

Well, it is the best melee weaving weapon for orc hunters doing full weave, so it is something they'd get some mileage out of. I'm not sure how much of an upgrade it is for warriors, but I'd assume it is more.

You did not take into consideration what gear is best for each specialization. For example Survival hunters get bonus from the extra agility and stamina of strikers and the off pieces.
