I think cheese is being a little harsh to himself and other 120 runners. Sure they don’t perfect every star, but I think 120 is more about consistency and the ability to maintain composure under pressure when you’re an hour into a run. Just a different skill set 🤷🏼‍♂️ the amount of times cheese has clutched at a tournament is ridiculous

Consistency is the most important thing in speedrunning. If you can't consistently get to late game in 120 star you ain't gonna be prepared for the later levels.

Suigi just got a 47:1X in 70 and weegee was on comfy WR pace in 120 in his latest PB. I agree that consistency is needed aswell, but they both are incredibly good at it. As cheese said: they consistently get incredibly good times, far better than any of the other 120 runners. Look at the pace they're improving with, suigi just destroyed 16 in a year, he keeps on getting PBs all the time. Weegee got a WR in 70 with a huge mess up in BitS and got the potential to get WR in 16, 70 and 120 - no one else can say that about themself

People that are legitimately experts at pretty much anything giving nice explanations and commentary over pretty much anything is extremely compelling content and something a lot of different industries are gonna pick up on in the years to come in a more official capacity. I wouldn't be surprised if some companies start hiring people on to do this kind of content, sort of like IGN did with the gun expert who talks about real life counterpart guns in various video games.

Don't really know why I haven't subbed to you earlier. Sorry about that. Great content! Love how you give praise where praise is due. Even though there are records, I don't feel like speedrunning is a competition. It's more a cooperation, players as a whole vs the levels. A tag-team. Using each others programs, video analyzes, shared methods, experiences, immense amounts of skill and precision, and a fair bit of luck to bring each level as low as possible, until finally, the day he cometh before thou, the one the tales and legends spoke of. The one who will combine it all, and finally, after all these years, bring Mario down to his knees and mouth wrapped around his dick. The Gamer!

@@Lansolot Bro you clearly dont watch 16 Star regularly. Nobody has better BLJs than Suigi. People in twitch Chat used to pray for suigi Blj in good runs because his bljs are super nuts. „It has literally only ever happened on the TAS“ youre clearly trolling. It wasnt even a gold split. You know that what ive said was meant in general about turning off the cam while performing. He even said that its weird for him to jump on his bed reaching for the ac with the cam turned on which is totally reasonable. In the end you dont know a thing about speedrunning cause you would know that moderators dont care about the Camera but only for the recorded gameplay. I‘d guess that half of the submitted runs dont even include a Camera recording them. This is SM64 and not Guitar Hero. „Do you watch Karl Jobst?“ 🤡

that is crazy amount of work since 16 star is just 16 stars that have been highly optimized over the course of several years. 120 is the optimization of not only those 16 stars but also the other 104 stars. So its a much more daunting task to optimize those other stars and have the endurance to do it since its such a long speed run.

Not considering the long time of training and the skill it would be necessary and considering the incrise in difficulty for maintaining the same high level plays for that long , I think we can search for a 16 stars run that has the most alike gameplay as the 120 stars wr, then we could subtract the time between de to times in the pair of 16 stars runs and then apply thar ratio to dsecrease the time for 120 actual wr. The same could be done for 1 star and 0 stars runs. Just a theory. Sorry for the bad english,

I'm absolutely not saying Suigi is splicing (cuz I don't think he did) but all the arguments you used: already holding the record, having the verified skills required to do it without cheating, knowing that he would be caught if he did... all those, despite being very reasonable, were used in the past to defend players who ended up being cheaters (yeah I watched a few Karl Jobst videos). A run I love to re-watch, because its absolutely perfect till the fckn bljs. Both of them have the potential at the moment to get a WR in two out of three of the biggest categories, suigi in 16 and 70, weegee in 70 and 120 (his latest PB was very comfortable WR pace till rainbow ride), weegee is even good enough for 3/3, but that's practically impossible. Found another splice run that was left on KZbin from Speed Demos Archive but I think one of the moderators found FuniaSM64 cheated, this was 10 years ago but just an interesting to know what's left on KZbin by cheaters. :) by the way I would say Greensuigi is more coincident with his movement I swear.

That whole less-than thing you do is uncalled for. What's worse is you literally sell it well and you're not being humble; you actually believe it. I think I finally get why a straight male(reportedly) like me is magnetized to you. You're good at stuff, if not the best at stuff, but you so effectively put yourself down just like I do! With odd ryhms and powerful reasoning.

He turns off his cam bc he doesn’t like people to see him walking around? That makes no sense. It is suspicious that he turns the cam off at 9:25 & at 14:08 right before 2 super difficult tricks. Tons of super skilled speed runners have been caught cheating Cheese so that’s not a logical defense. I’m not gonna claim he’s cheating, but it is suspicious.

@@LansolotCheese’s reaction to hearing the possibility of cheating was flippant & dumb. It’s one thing to say “I don’t think he cheated…” but to just dismiss it flippantly saying “who cares what Reddit says” & “he’s really good, why would he cheat?” was horrible reasoning.

@@mrpayne123 Look there is a whole moderation team that is checking these runs for even the smallest suspicious thing. This run is completely legit and if you would watch Suigis streams then you‘d know that he does that very often. He also had a few 3x runs into BitS so it was just a matter of time that he gets a low 4x. He literally got a 14:50 in a Live Event in front of cheese and other top tier runners. That 14:50 was even faster than slips 14:50 which means that if you would‘nt count his other runs hes still the WR holder. And btw you dont even need a cam for a run to be legit. Its actually quite common for top Tier speedrunners to turn off the cam while performing difficult tricks on a good pace to take away the pressure to some extent. (Sorry for my bad english, its not my mother tongue)

I think it's weird that every time someone gets a WR, there's always some rando who says "THEY CHEATED". I'm *not* a speedrunner, but I've watched enough videos that I think I could notice anything glaringly obvious. But yea, there's zero reason for him to have cheated.

5:02 it literally looks as he is jumping in mid-air. Is that just due to the lack of visible frames?

Do you mean his jump after the dive onto the spinning platform? If so, he clearly makes that jump once making contact with the green platform; it’s just not very easy to see due to the camera placement
