Kruk has probably never used KZbin but videos like this are why it exists.

Haha "Now you guys aren't allowed in here... but nobody's here so come on!" Somehow that wraps up the 1993 Phillies perfectly

Johnny Boy is one of the greatest men to ever live. Nice guy. Career .300 hitter.

Kruk must have been an unusual or even rare case of a hitter who brought his career batting average UP to 300 by hitting well over 300 in his final years (three years in his case). When I was a kid, I collected baseball cards and noticed a pattern of great hitters' career averages ending up falling below 300 by having a last few years of pretty low sub 300 batting averages -- like Micky Mantle and Al Kaline. I loved having the LAST card for a player when retiring rather than a rookie card because I could see the whole career, preferably with one team. Hey, I was just a little kid who loved baseball cards. (I just checked, and Pete Rose did manage to keep his career average just over 300 even though hitting around 260 or 265 his last five years. So at least that worked out for him.)

Thank you for this video. Growing up and watching that team, and being the last team in Philadelphia to win something before the internet...Stone Age to alot of kids....lol.. Awesome Vid. If you're in your early to mid 30s, and spent your summer playing stickball, speed pitch, bounce ball, wiffle, halfies, etc etc, and lived in Kensington, Fishtown, Port Richmond, South Philly, Delco, Tacony, and what ever Philly hood....93 Phils...Our team. The 1St night winner. Long live our field of dreams.

Back in the mid-90s I'd take my nephews down to Veterans Stadium and get autographs from the Phillies. John Kruk was always a fan favorite.

@@alanw505 in 95 or 96 my dad got a ton of tickets for the indians season. we went to so many games we got bored of it. but i remember i think they were playing the twins one day and the stadium was pretty empty and 2 of the twins were warming up near the seats. so me and my dad went and asked if they could autograph my tickets and some lady got up and started yelling at me. i was about 14 yrs old. she kept saying this section is for family members only get out of here!! yet there was every single seat empty around her. the guys signed my ticket and we walked away from that mad woman. i also got i think it was jose mesas towel while he was in the bullpen he didnt use it but it had some dirt on it and when i waved to him he threw me the towel. its a official indians one it was really rad. i stopped watching sports after the 90s.
