The funny thing about that power crush is that it has the same starting animation as the unblockable so JDCR probably saw the unblockable animation so his legacy muscle memory kicked in and went into attack mode because thats the right thing to do because it has a long animation but just ate the power crush

PhiDX's logic and reasoning is spot on for Tekken 8 gameplay, as I see other Vets and Pros coming to similar conclusions. If you are a Vet or Pro trying to play T8, you have to reconcile yourself to the vagaries of this new game, have realistic expectations, and mentally change how you view your own evolving playstyle while being mature enough to deal with the mental health challenges of dealing with a game iteration that does not reward skill, training and experience to the level of all it's predecessors. You have to adapt more in this new game than any other, since the foundation of Tekken has now, for the first time, changed from defensive skill to aggression and guessing, which takes LESS skill, training and knowledge. But PhiDX IS STILL TRYING. He is thicker skinned and RESILIENT. These skills are GREATLY UNDERVALUED. All you Vets, Pros and OG character specialists, please stick around a little longer and be RESILIENT. You will presevere, and gain a trait that will serve you WELL in other aspects of your life too. Please stick it out and hang in there. Support each other. This game is ever changing, and you will too - for the better. YOU are the backbone of this game. Namco has already shown that they are wrong, and have started on the road to making changes to start fixing it, proving YOU WERE RIGHT. The fickle scrubs they were pandering to are already dropping the game, sales have dropped, and now they have to listen to you more. We need you. Don't give up.
