I have two forms of MD.I have two children: ages (daughter) 15 and 8. My son has multiple disabilities and more than likely has a form of the MD...I have no REGRETS of having my two beautiful children. We fight this thing! We don't stop seeking help! Thank you for sharing your story. =)

Hi I was diagnosed in 1986. Went to law school 10 years later. I am 57 now and still walking and independent. It’s a little scary though. I try to take it a day at a time instead of feeling doom and gloom about the future. How are you doing?

I understand the intent and need for such videos for whatever they are intended for, however as I have this disease as well there is one thing I know for sure, feeling sorry for oneself is THE absolute worst thing a person with any disorder can do. Finding ways to stay positive all the time is the hardest thing in the world, I know this for a fact as I have been living with FSH for 25 years now and I am even in a wheelchair now.

I agree ohcmeon. My son is afflicted FSHD, and although he is not in a wheelchair, he could never lift weights or ride a bike.

Hi, 7 out of every 100,000? I find that high. Although the last MDA clinic I visited was over-run. I also noticed the African-American community getting hit hard. Not just FSHD there are 40 different types of neuromuscular diseases that fall under the MDA umbrella. Most are a death sentence. This spike rates lead me to consider environmental attributes to mutations good or bad. Thanks best of luck 2 all

@ohcmeon The intent of this video was to show people attending a fundraising event, and previously unaware of FSH, the impact - physical, mental and emotional - it can have on a person’s life. It is in no way a complete story though, nor a good representation of who they are as people. I'm sure the impact FSH has had on your life varies from the three people profiled here, however, I can assure you their optimism and yearning for a fulfilling life is no different than your own. All the best.

GOD made the body perfect! He didn't put us here to struggle. I was diagnosed in 2016 with MS, neuropathy, brain infection, part of my brain missing and on my way to be a diabetic. I'm almost 100%. Anyone can have my records. This is the truth! Jesus Walks

I have some form of MD and this is a suspect. Doctor told me, there are many forms. Its a batlle every single day and its almost invisible to anyone outside. I can still walk fairly well, but more trouble getting out of the car and off chairs plus huge fatigue, difficulty breathing chewing in summer heat humidity.
