Those numbers on the hang time seem messed up...dudes hang time was only .5 for the high jump but his scrub time was over 2 times longer? Makes no sense. Doesnt seem very accurate.

@frankthetankricard5 жыл бұрын
As a tech enthusiast I refuse to believe those Garmin measurements are any good. Looks like a gimmick feature that's wildly inconsistent and uses unreliable sources to calculate (guess is a better word really) jump data. For accurate air time measurements you'd need at least a few elaborate sensors measuring load on your suspension as well as elaborate software to pinpoint the timing of takeoff and landing. For landing an accelerometer should suffice but that can't tell precisely when you leave the lip of a jump. As for distance and length, I don't think it's doable at all. You need static measuring tools and calibrated reference points in the environment. That said, the video was enjoyable.
@sapinva5 жыл бұрын
Or you could set up the camera on a tripod and measure everything from the video. Those figures are suspect, but no doubt who won.
@seven97664 жыл бұрын
I second this. A simple limit switch that detects fully open suspension (maybe just on the rear shock, as it is way easier to install than on a fork, then measure the time the suspension is fully extended, iE in the air.

#askGMBN. I have a question. How accurate is the jump feature? I have a Garmin edge 530 and I love it but it says 4m and I suck at Jumping. It is at our trails and we don't have many big jumps. Thanks.

If you spend around a second in the air on all those jumps. From just one day at Whistler you could potentially spend over 10 solid minutes literally flying through the air.

Please Help! For your next ask GMBN show. I bought a second hand rockshox revelation 120mm fork and when the fork compresses it only goes about halfway and then stops, it also only return to 10% of the travel, it also has a small scrach on the stanction if it could be a problem, so do you maby know whats the problem an how do I fix it??
