Thanks for this. It’s good to know that I’m not the only one. Stress of not sleeping is so distressing. Working through this now.

Week 12 and I still struggle to sleep at night - even after walking 5 kilometres per day. I've tried listening to music, walking around the house, reading, to no avail. This may sound strange, but sometimes listening to sermons does get me back to sleep, providing the pastor is not too animated! Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen or Dr Stanley bring me peace and I tend to relax more easily.

I do a relaxing 10 meditation. I also found wearing a leg sleeve at night, though I don’t feel pain anymore, kind of gives me comfort, like a knee hug. Lol. Not sure why, but it helps me sleep. Gentle, not too compressed support.

I decided to hang a dark blanket over my bedroom window so that when I'm in the sweet spot of good sleep that comes close to dawn I won't get woke up...for the last 2 nigjts it's really helped...I like to listen to the bible being read to me...there's a particular guy that really does a good job...not monotone but not overly animated...his name is Christopher but I can't remember his last name

Yep, exactly. Don’t think my surgeon believed the extent of it. I didn’t sleep for 10 weeks, like not more then 2 hours at a time, and didn’t nap during the day either. Now 16 weeks, finally back to normal. Meditation helpful for me.

Thank you for the helpful ideas! I had a RTKR 3 weeks ago today. Sleep has been the greatest challenge. I have been up now since 3:15 a.m. and am watching videos to get ideas. I like to use prayer videos as you suggested. Thanks for sharing. 🙏❤️

I don’t think going for a walk around the block at night is very safe😮

Yes, I agree in some circumstances going for a walk outside is not an appropriate option!

I tend to listen to my music and set my leg in a position where it's comfortable. I read a book too. Barely 2 weeks into my TKR still I lack sleep, but during the day I hop onto the recliner and I sleep for 2 hours or so

THE main reason I couldn’t sleep after I had my knee replacement surgery was because I was in SO MUCH PAIN!!! And the doctors are terrified to hand out any pain meds, because they are afraid of losing their license! The only thing the doctors want to give you is a pep talk!

Sorry to hear about your pain and difficulties after surgery. Hopefully you are starting to feel better and sleep better as you heal and recover.

I finally took D9 CBD gummies. It worked only took a half. Went to sleep for 6 hours. For weeks did not sleep I was off all my pain meds before trying the gummies ❤

I'm sorry to hear that... dealing with sadness, and other mental health concerns can be a prominent and impactful component of your recovery after surgery. Thinking of you and wishing you the best and don't hesitate to seek professional help if appropriate for you.

Sorry to hear you’re having difficulty with sleeping. Sometimes sleeping issues can be due to other things such as any medicine, not being as activity as usual or out of your normal routine, or some anxieties and fears can also impact sleep after surgery… hope you are able to address this concern and start having better sleep soon

It takes 8 to 10 weeks to get any kind of real sleep
