To answer the question: No. I agree with his friends, she never considered him worth her time until he "made it", which is in her eyes the ability of her to use him as a piggybank and as an object of prestige. The dolls she had as a child were of Chad and Karen, she was already in the mindset of commanding him despite never reciprocating friendship, even as children. She had plenty of time to develop a friendship with him, and he with her, but nothing ever came of it. He had a crush on her, completely unrequited, years passed and she never found happiness in a world filled with material. To me, it seems like he came out on top, he's desirable, he's being asked to meet "face to face", yet, she is "monkey baring" to find the next man to take care of her, I don't think such a relationship would have love.

We cannot help but be saddened by a separation, especially the loss of someone we love. I think the point here isn't so much that we don't grieve loss, but that we don't let the grief cripple us. To be fair, Miyamoto Musashi lived a very different life than we do today - he had a life of few attachments, and as a ronin, he understood that his life could be cut down at any moment. We who do not follow the ways of warriors by necessity have more attachments. There are times for joy and times for grief. But let neither cripple you to the point where you cannot move forward and progress. Our minds are fragile, and we must take care not to let our emotions master our lives.

I've never written a comment before, but these are works of art. For my own little piece of random male trivia that no one will care about: This year, I took a big leap and stepped off "the path" that I had been set on and had been making me miserable. I hated being in an office, I hated working on computers and I hated being the fall guy for the mistakes of my superiors. But I felt I couldn't leave it behind because too much had been invested in me by my parents. Now, I work a physical, outdoor job. I feel strong, and take great pride in my work. This winter, I have another physical outdoor job lined up when this one ends. Never let anyone decide for you. If something makes you miserable, stop it, take action. The worst you can do is fail, and then you have the privilege of saying you did your best at what you truly wanted. Don't wait, don't be a fool like me. I was almost trapped in so much I didn't want. We often look back at the past with rose tinted glasses, choosing to ignore that reasons and redflags to pursue a dream route that never existed to begin with. The same people that often rejected you will cling on to anything to stop their rapid decent, and if Wojak isn't careful, he'll find himself falling alongside her. She doesn't love Wojak and is simply a means to an end to her. we shouldn't dictate our value based on things in the past but rather find meaning in ourselves and the true relationships we have instead of preying on false opportunities. Many might say it's bullshit to find people who love you for you, in this day and age but it is possible. It just takes longer in the age of persona's and masks. He shouldn't have listened to what his friends said about her and then base his life decisions (1/42 of a loan paid off) to meet arbitrary standards that seem "successful". It would be beneficial for both to talk to eachother since both seem to have a hang up about the past and this way there can be closure. The likely scenarios starting with the most likely: 1) She wants to be with him because she's unhappy and she needs someone to maker her happy. If that's the case, he will know truly what kind of person she is and cut off contact immediately. Closure. 2) They both can talk about the past and how they both got to where they are today. They may even find insight on why they are or are not happy with the life they live now. Once they understand the why, they can work on fixing themselves. Another form of closure. Why not just meet up as old friends as she says and put an end to the nagging "what if" of the past?

It's frightening how much I relate to the main character in this story, and it's quite sad to see that the main theme of this story seems to be held up true: that our self-worth as a man is derived from money. I had a very strenuous affection for a girl during junior high, and transitioning into higu school, she suddenly decided to date some other dude from an entirely different school. He was a hockey player, smoked weed, drank, yet, she liked that. She knew I loved her. And she enjoyed my attention. I was in the position of my friends lecturing me on moving on, but she is somewhat of a primary goal. You want her, nothing else. One of those friends are dead, and so is my time at high school. I'll never return to her if she asks for me. I loved her so much, but for some reason, i would never take her back. She would just use me. Move on, and save your energy. Don't allow your worth to be judged by some woman. Judge yourself and do things for yourself.

At this point, after the main character internalized the idea that a man is only worth what he can provide and not also who he is as a person, his personality, ideas, feelings, emotional maturity and so on which are also essential for being a fit partner, he only risks to become the sole thing he despised which is being just like David: impressing a girl with just money, a girl that has no value other than the one he invents as a fantasy simply from just from not knowing better. That girl will turn out to be just as dysfunctional since she clearly only seeks material proof that a man might be fit for her and lead the main character towards becoming a David even faster. Again, just like most of the characters shown on the channel, a lack of self awareness which would more than signifficantly speed up the process of them breaking their toxic thinking patterns is what drives them into worst possible scenarios.

The best course of action for you would be to find a job that pays better or learn some skill that could land you higher salary. Also find someone you can go out and drink and talk about anything, it doesn't need to be deep shit. Human interaction is essential for one's well being. As for the women, well. I have no luck myslef in that regard, but whatever I guess. If it happens, it happens. My self worth isn't lower just because I can't get laid. You're not alone. I've had chances throughout life to be "loose" with women, but I always turned them down as I wanted to "save myself" for marriage. At this point, I don't think I even want anyone anymore, everything seems so superficial and nihilistic. The relationships are empty, the girlfriends I had had me on emotional roller coaters constantly and none even wanted children in marriage... I don't know. At this point, I just want to love what I do for a career and if someone comes along, cool, if not, so be it.

I'd say 'no' but try to say it in a smooth, unsuspecting manner. This is a classic instance of the 'daring' girl who comes crawling back. Sara showed where her values lied before back in high school. She knew the main character since childhood yet she chose to hang out with Mr. Money-bags. The messaging years later is clear desperation. Mr. Money-bags provided monetary value, whatever materialistic items she desired he could afford, but he could not offer a genuine relationship. Now she's stuck in a failing marriage and trying to get out of it, she realizes she screwed up. She messaged the main character because she remembered she could have had a chance of a genuine relationship with him and she probably doesn't know any other genuine guys in her world currently either. One of the first things he said to her when they first met was- "You can always rebuild what is broken.", further cementing the idea she could have a chance with him in the present. Me personally I don't think I'd want to go out with a girl like that. Genuine heart and faithfulness are two character traits I seek in a girl. If she doesn't have those then I don't really want to have her in my life. Maybe I'm an asshole.

A man ought to treasure none of these things, which does not fall to a man's portion qua man. They are not requirements of a man, nor does man's nature profess them, nor are they accomplishments of man's nature. Accordingly man's end does not lie in them, and certainly not the good which is complementary to his end." - Marcus Aurelius The value of this man is not his wealth, but his own faith in his correct judgement. That's always how it's been, except men used to have more control. Our primitive ancestors still lived this way; if you were a strong man who could provide then you could get a mate. The only real difference in the modern world, is men have no control anymore.

Believe it or not, it’s the opposite. This may have been true 40+ years ago but now a days age gap relationships are viewed negatively and are becoming less and less. If this was the 1800s it would of been the norm to marry a guy 6+ years older but now most people marry someone their age. 1/3 of US marriages are within someone 1 year of themselves and 3/4 are within 4 years.
